Coming to Country Club Plaza during the Thanksgiving weekend has been a family tradition for years with my husband, mother, and myself. It is a great way to decompress for a few days while enjoying some great food, and shopping we do not normally get in Oklahoma. We get in Thanksgiving afternoon , check in to our hotel right off the plaza, and then we go and get our dinner from Tomfooleries, and the perfect spot in the Jack Henry parking garage to see the lighting of the plaza ceremony and fireworks after dinner. After that then we take our time to enjoy what KC has to offer. We have a standing rule when it comes to restaurants though, never pick a place we can get at home, and try new places each time we come. But when it comes to Thanksgiving night dinner, Tomfooleries is a guaranteed dinner, because they are open that evening, and have great food and a fun atmosphere, with being in the plaza. Yes there are plenty of people out that evening, so plan to get to the plaza a bit early for dinner. But I do guarantee one thing if you have never been, you need to go at least once to the lighting of the plaza in your life, it truly will put you in the holiday spirit and warm your heart.

The iconic "Plaza" as the locals call it, is a showcase of Spanish architecture and exceptional fountains. Upscale retailers and Fine Dining round out the experience. A unique blend of local shops round out the picture. Schedule a weekend get away and head to the Raphael Hotel, within walking distance to every thing. Youll love Chaz the restaurant as well, or you can request the Presidents Suite and order room service. The historic Brookside and Sunset Hill neighborhoods surround the Plaza and provide a pleasing back drop of classic architectural styles. If your interested in eating what the locals eat, stop in at "The Peanut" for their famous Buffalo Chicken Wings, and then head to "Christopher Elbows for eclectic ice cream flavors made from scratch. Stop in at Andres and enjoy lunching Swiss Chalet setting. Pick up their world famous chocolate made on the premises. Id be remiss without mentioning the Plaza lighting ceremony and The historic Loose Park as well. The Plaza truly has something for everyone with its great mix of local and national retailers and restaurants. Visit soon, youll be glad you did!

We love the Country Club Plaza! Every time we visit KC, we end up walking around for the majority of the day. The mix of restaurants, shops, clubs and fountains provide you with as much as youd like to do in a weekend. The spanish tile roofing really pulls everything together and is short of pretentious and provides just the right amount of class. Shops are generally higher end and there are tons of places to grab a coffee throughout the day so youre never running on empty. Seriously, this place has all the makings of a great day. Breakfast/brunch, shopping, lunch at the fountain, a jazz show in the evening, dinner watching the sunset and some late night dessert or drinks before heading home with your treasures. If we lived in KC, wed be here all the time. Bravo to one of our favorite places in the country to spend a weekend.

I spent the weekend in Kansas City. There was a specific store that I wanted to shop at. On Saturday evening we went to the Plaza. My friend made reservations to Brios Tuscan Grill. I did enjoy shopping and the dining experience was exceptional. The one reason I only am rating two stars is due to the massive throng of youth who were congesting the walkways. The sidewalks were crowded with children who were loitering, scuffuling, and loudly shouting at other children. I found it difficult to navigate between them and nearly fell at one point. I was walking in the street and stepped in a pothole. The sidewalk was saturated with children standing stationary having social exchanges. I do not wish to return to the Plaza because of this experience.

A weekend retreat for us a couple of times each year. We plan for weekends without major events in KC, which are harder and harder to plan around with more going on each year. Like any popular shopping destination you have your typical peak times where difficult to navigate sidewalks and being there on 80+ degree days with little but concrete around can make for a long day. A handful of stores we cant find locally in Omaha but not many so its not really about the shopping but getting out of town for 48 hours. Great food of course and plenty of things to do with kids throughout the city.

Beautiful walking mall along Brush creek, themed on Seville, Spain. Ornate themed architecture throughout and lit up like a Christmas card during the holidays. Generations-old favorites include Topsys popcorn, Winsteads, and vegetarian restaurant Eden Alley. Most of the chain restaurants and chain stores are generic-enogh and over-priced they dont warrant a visit. Restaurant week in January is an affordable time to experience many of the restaurants. Plaza boasts horse-drawn carriage rides and gondola rides along the creek. Pokemon Go players haven.

The plaza is a great place to spend an afternoon or evening. Tons of phenomenal shopping but be prepared to pay as there are tons of high-end stores to choose from! Or do lots of window shopping! A plethora of great restaurants great for casual dining, date nights,or group celebrations. Make reservations though most evenings if you want to get in. Also be prepared to walk a bit or really know where you are going as this area spreads over several large city blocks. Free parking all over the place though!

Very nice place, too bad most of the people who frequent this place act like theyve never seen a black person before. Like, seriously, why do they gawk? Also, the people who frequent here are so rude to homeless people who arent doing anything but sitting in the shade. Smh I hate coming down here cause I know every store I enter Im going to get followed or watched closely. I cant stand it. I like this place, great stores and its very clean. I just wish WHITE PEOPLE WOULD JUST STOP! STOP IT!

Well if you havent been down on the Country Club Plaza, or if you go down there its such a great place to meet friends, and family there. Enjoy yourself there, take in the beauty of it, and the fountains also. Kansas City is the second largest in the world for there fountains. Enjoy shopping, and go eat were ever. Greay places to have great food. Must go see the plaza lighting ceremony for a great start to the holiday seasons. Just enjoy yourselves and take it all in.

The Plaza is considered to be "THE PLACE" to shop, eat, enjoy Christmas displays, and walk (browse) in Kansas City. There is generally something for everyone here. Take a horse drawn carriage ride around the Plaza during summer/winter months or drop into "The Classic Cup" outdoors (dining al fresco) in summer or by the fireplace in winter. Lots of great restaurants and good shopping. More fun to walk and browse shop windows than to drive through on a busy night.

España en USA. Réplica de partes de la ciudad de Sevilla en el corazón de Kansas City. Ambas son ciudades vinculadas y hermanadas desde hace más de cien años. Gran trabajo de arquitectura y reflejo de la fusión de culturas.
