Best overall Mexican food in Kansas City Metro. I used to think all the places off Southwest Blvd were the spot.... nope. The family that runs El Alteno are the best. They always put a smile on my daughters face and make sure that she has food quickly (toddler) so that is just great customer service. Everything menu item I have tried I have wanted to go back to eat it again. Keep it up! I moved up North and miss this place.

This place is wonderful. Very friendly servers, very fresh and delicious authentic Mexican food. And very fair prices for huge plates of food. The restaurant is a little difficult to get into because of the vast construction going on Main Street right now, but they have ample parking in back of the restaurant. Dont let the street construction scare you away from some of the best Mexican food youve ever had!!! Muy Bueno!

Moderate coverage mango margarita, huge. Great prices for quality proportions. Spicy enchiladas, meaty tamales, pobalano I believe chili rellenos. Beans and rice sides with meals. Chips and salsa given with Togo order. Mango margarita was gone when bill was paid, no Togo for those alcohol beverages, lol!

I loved it. Im not an expert on food by any means, but the salsa and the beans looked homemade to me. I dont even like beans and I still ate and enjoyed them. Our whole party agreed that the food was delicious, with prices you would expect at most authentic Mexican restaurants.

YUMMILICIOUS had a strawberry margarita, the combo with cheese enchilada, taco, burrito, rice and beans $7.95 for meal! Came with chips and salsa. Im picky about rice and beans and theirs was fabulous! Ill definitely be back for more!

Best mexican place in town. All items on menu are great. And they will even make items that arent spicy spicy or hot for your taste. Service is great and you will feel like they have known you for life. You have to try it.
