I was visiting minneapolis the other day and did the mistake of visiting this restaurant. As soon as I stepped in, the ambience appeared cheap and probably desgined by some stuff bought in garage sales. I am from India and I think the food served here is an insult to Indian food. Unfortunately, I see many Americans frequent this place not aware that the food served is far from being authentic Indian food. I have been in the US over the last 10 year and been to several Indian retaurants and clearly this will be the distinguished worst. The restrooms are ridiculously maintained, possible health Hazard. Some of these restaurants dont believe in maintaining or even building a decent restroom, they feel it is not an important part of the restaurant. So dont drink a lot a water so you can avoid the restroom, else you will lose your appetite even before you eat the food. I want to be fair with my review but out of the 6 items I ordered not one was good, we ended up leaving the food, it was good in a way since I had a long drive back and not eating helped me stay awake. I Hope the owners will get better cooks after they try authentic Indian food in another Indian restaurant. And Hopefully they improve the ambience of the place so that you are not embarassed to be there (especially if you make the mistake of taking someone for lunch)

I have been to this place quite a few times , their food used to be bad , but had improved a lot over the last one year to the point I had started recommending the place to my friends .I recently had the pleasure of finding a dead fly in their (white rice) buffet , which I then brought to the attention of one of the servers . She called the owner and the others to discuss this in their kitchen , but no one came and spoke to us .I agree with the previous review regarding their hygeine and manners . Not only did they not apologize or even mention the incident , they also billed us like usual as if nothing had happened . I couldnt believe it ! I do not really know how an establishment can do that to their customers. Some one should indeed take a look inside their kitchen(- hygeine values-) and at their behaviour to the customers ..

This is the best Indian food in the Twin Cities. The buffet is only 12 bucks or something like that and it goes till like 3 oclock in the afternoon? This place deserves your business. The food is hot, well made and fresh. Ive been going here for years. Its not douchey, its not yuppie, its not up its own ass. Its the best buffet Ive ever been to. Theres a large variety of food too. Ill never get sick of this place if they just keep it the way it is. All that new stuff that they built east of the parkway is crap. This is a down-home, honest-to-goodness place. There are so few places like this in the world. There is a "new Taste of India" in LaCrosse Wisconsin that is definitely not comparable to this place because the food just isnt as good or fresh.

Our favorite go-to restaurant when we dont feel like cooking. This place is a pretty typical Indian - American restaurant, and they dont have anything thats particularly unique or mindblowing. However, they do all the typical Indian food favorites very well. We usually order a vegetable curry and a tandoor dish and have never ordered anything that wasnt delicious. The ambiance is much nicer than youd expect in a strip mall off of 394, and weve only had bad service once. In fact, last time we left one of our to-go containers behind and the waiter followed us out to our car with it. Theyre always nice to our five year old too. Reasonable prices.

This is my favorite reasonably-priced restaurant in all of MN. The food is fantastic, the service is great, and the decor is hokey but cute. I only wish the location was closer to the Cities. My (now) husband and I hired Taste of India to cater our wedding in the summer of 2013, and they did a great job. The food was much cheaper than traditional wedding fare (but tastier, in our opinion), and they recommended food thats popular among the locals and keeps well in a buffet. I was worried wed have problems because their catering system was so informal (we got a handwritten receipt on notebook paper), but we couldnt have been happier.

This restaurant has continued to maintain an excellent standard of food, service, and atmosphere since my family started visiting back in 97. It remains my favorite Indian restaurant, and the recent redecorating has only made it feel classier. The prices are reasonable, and while dinner here is a treat for me, it isnt because my wallet gets stretched too thin. The food is hard to describe for me, because there are so many options, its hard to describe them all in a concise manner, except to say that they are all delicious. The servers are attentive, and genuine in their efforts to give you an excellent dining experience.

I have eaten in many Indian restaurants and this is one of the best I have tried in MN. The lunch buffet is best in this area and I would totally recommend the place to others. The buffet is a great deal - lots of variety, reasonable priced This place is spiced just right. For samosas !!! The service was very friendly and efficient, easily coping with our large party . Food arrived piping hot and in good time. The menu contains a good number of house specialties which are a cut above the normal menu offerings. I tried one of these and it was delicious. The restaurant was clean.

First time dining here and the food was AMAZING! We had the dinner for 2 and everything was delicious. The portions were huge. We took almost half of the meal home and were able to feed 3 people off the leftovers. I loved the Samosa with the 2 different dipping sauces. The lamb curry was perfectly seasoned and tender. The waiter also gave us a complimentary vegetable dish. Being our first time eating Indian food we were clueless as to what to order but the waiter was very helpful. Would highly recommend. Wish we lived closer so we could go more often.

So dope. I had the lamb mahil? korma which was so downright delectable that I finished it even though I wa stuffed. The weird (read very Indian) waiter suggested the chicken pakoras which we just Indian chicken fingers but the sauces a mint chutney and a homemade tamarind sauce were very good, so much so that I kept them for the entree. The lamb was very tender which can be hard to achieve. Not cheap but not outrageous either, fair. $2 for Darjeeling tea, $4.95 for chicken fingers and $12.95 for the lamb korma that two normal sized people could share.

Love Taste of India! Ive been here twice in the last few months - once dining in and once for take out. Both experiences were wonderful. The vegetarian dinner for two is a great price and the food is AMAZING!! The customer service is wonderful as well. Regarding some of the other reviews: I think maybe management has changed in the last year or so? We have not seen any hygiene concerns, I used the restroom once and it was very clean, and the food and service were great. We would eat here twice a month if we didnt live 40 miles away! :)
