To say that the service was bad is an understatement. The service was extremely rude to the point of being hostile, from the very moment I sat down at a table. I have no idea why this was the case, since I had never been at this restaurant before, much less given reason for such mistreatment. I ordered the Chicken Curry. The chicken was under cooked, and the rice was overcooked. As overpriced as their food is, I expected better. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he acted like I had insulted his mother. He started to stand too close to me in a threatening and hateful manner. I actually had to threaten to call the police. A very unpleasant situation, specially since I was there with my 10 year old to have a pleasant dinner. This is the only restaurant that Ive had to walk out of in all of my life.

It was my first time eating there and it is certainly my last time. THE SERVICE is terrible. The waiters were very difficult to understand and on top of that they had a difficult time reading the menu. The food was cooked with lots of salt and tasteless. When the bill came, they added on an extra item on there for 15$ by mistake. This place is way to over priced for what it is. Honestly, I could have made better food at home and saved half of what I spent there. THINK TWICE AND I MEAN THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU DINE THERE.

Decent menu & ok lunch buffet. Both north and south Indian friends enjoy, they will adjust the spice levels. As a Minnesotan I like it as well, but not top of my list. Staff is friendly and very attentive and will help make recommendations if you are not familiar with Indian food - this is a great place to get started if you have no idea what to try for Indian food. In my opinion its a little bit more expensive than the quality of the food, but still pretty good - Ive been there a few times now.

I go to the Tandoor pretty much on a weekly basis and have always had the best service. The food is outstanding and the staff are always willing to go the extra mile. I have had family from overseas in town and bring them to the Tandoor and they also say it is one of the best Indian resturants they have been to. I concider myself an indian-food-aholic and cant wait to go back. Have to say I have tried pretty much everything on the menu and not a bad dish amongst it.

Worst Biriyani I ever had in my life. Some people think that they can just mix some chicken curry with some white rice, it makes it yellow in color and you can call it biriyani. The chef at Tandoor is one of those guys. Before ordering it, I asked the waiter to describe what style of Biriyani it is. He said its very close to Hyderabadi Dum Biriyani. Joke of the day, Id say! No flavor. No spices. No taste. Not comparable to any of the popular variants of Biriyani.

Worst service restaurant I have ever seen. First server tried to push the buffet on us, when we declined she finally gave us a menu. Then a guy came out and again tried to push the buffet on us, we declined and he told us that the kitchen was very busy, however, there were maybe 4 other tables occupied. Said he would go back and see how long the wait was but never even went back to check. We left, and will never go back. Bathroom was gross as well.

Dont eat here! There was hair in my food..& of course the manager took it away immeaditly and 10min later he said it was some kind of spice!..I wasnt playing with him..I knew what I saw..He than assumed that I was full.. and laughed away..it was rude and rude to my friends. He never offered anything else..he also pointed to his employee to bring out the check for us..while my friends were yet not finished with their meals.

There are much better choices in the Twin Cities than this restaurant. I cant think of one buffet item that was done well (thick and greasy naan, tasty but super fatty goat, hardly any chicken in the chicken dishes, runny mango pudding, etc.). Its the first and last visit for me and we do regularly eat Indian food. Skip it, spend your money elsewhere. I wouldnt visit this join even for free.

I went there two times. The first time the food was okay but the second time I didnt like at all. The taste of all dishes were different when I compare my both visit and I dont think thats a good sign for any restaurant. The Biryani is no where called Biryani. It was just yellow rice mixed with some chicken, nothing more than that. I would not recommend this place.

Ordered one chicken dish and one vegetarian dish to share with 2 others at my table. The chicken dish contained five pieces of chicken......FIVE. Pathetic. Then, one dish came out and the other at least 10 minutes later. Asked for medium spice, there was no spice/heat whatsoever. Never got water refilled. Very poor service. Would not go back or recommend.

Weve been there before and well come back when were able. It is basically a hole-in-the-wall even though they have decorated appropriately. Yes service can be spotty but the food is that good. Tamarind sauce, tikka masalla, goat curry, crispy potatoes, naan all to die for. Its all all about the food and Tandoors is just simply that good.

Weve been patronizing this restaurant for over 25 years, followed them from their first location on Hennepin Ave. we hosted our sons wedding rehearsal dinner here. Many favorites on the menu, but my go to are Chicken Butter and Lamb Shai-Korma. Im American my husband is Indian and we have always been treated equally.

Lady who works doesnt know whats on menu and gives wierd looks when asked for something. When asked for spicy biryani .. All i got is biryani with lumps of hot chilli powder sprinkled. No passion to serve tasty food what so ever. Sheek kabab was the worst i ever had. Customer services sucks and food sucks even more.

Good lunch buffet and selection. The Tika Masala was excellent. No naan on the table, but there was a plentiful supply at the buffet that was fresh and soft. Fast, friendly service without being overbearing. I just recommended it to colleagues at work as well for a place closer to Richfield than India Palace.

If you approach this place as a "hole in the wall" you will not be disappointed. The atmosphere & service are not 5 stars, but the food is good authentic Indian. And the price is right! Their Nan is my favorite, warm, bubbly, and chewy. And they even have an ok offering of micro brews. Enjoy!
