I was excited to take my husband and two small kids here (they love fish) after reading the reviews and seeing pictures. But it was a terrible experience. We went on a Saturday - later in day hoping the lunch rush would be less. It was 1:30pm when we got in line, which was out the door. Thats okay, were still excited about fish tacos. After 30 mins in line we finally order and then go hunting for a place to sit. Its packed everywhere outside but we finally settle on sitting indoors at a small, still dirty table. No one ever came to clean it. The music indoors was fun music, but it was so loud that none of us could hear each other and after waiting for our food for another 30-35 minutes, it started to feel stressful. Sitting so close to the kitchen gave us a good view of the goings on and it wasnt very pretty. We witnessed a waiter dropping a plate of food upside down on a counter and then scraping it back on the plate and handing it to the "cook" to be "repositioned" in an effort to make it look like nothing happened. The floors were filthy and the crew doing the serving didnt look very clean either. I feel like I went to a different place than what was being reviewed here! The food was okay, fish tacos were pretty good. But certainly not worth the 2 hours we ended up being there from start to finish. Its not like its "fine dining" where youd expect to have a long meal. Will not go back.

I had read mixed reviews prior to a trip to Minneapolis and Mall Of America. I was somewhat hesitant especially because of the remarks about terribly long lines and wait times. Yet, I was curious... it must be good if the lines are long... right? The park setting of this place is wonderful. It was a comfortable fall day with temps in the low 70s when I visited and the park was busy. I assumed my partner and I would walk past this place, see the terribly long lines, and move on to eat somewhere else. Guess what?-- No lines. So we tried it out. I had fish tacos--I love those and the ones served here were decent--not the best--but decent. The exterior of this place is the best. It offers great park views and the building of the restaurant itself is attractive. Inside, I felt the place was having a little bit of a an identity crisis. It was definitely going for a nautical theme, but I felt the modern, chrome and aluminum tables and chairs did not blend well. Though, I could be wrong because I didnt experience this personally, I can see this place being disorganized when crowded. In conclusion, if it appears there are no long lines and you have the opportunity to eat in nice outdoor weather, give it a shot. If there appears to be a long wait or the weather is not nice outside, then skip it.

My husband and I went on a Friday night understanding that the line would be long. We waited about 45 minutes to place our order, no big deal. After we ordered, we waited almost 50 minutes for calamari, a fish basket, and a crab cake basket. The food was delivered to us cold. I took the calamari back in and explained that we waited nearly an hour and the food was cold. The person behind the counter was rude and gave me the "what do you want me to do about it?" attitude. I asked if we could at least get a fresh basket of calamari. It was brought to us about 5 minutes later, and it was just as cold. I took it back again and told the person behind the counter it was cold, this person hardly acknowledged me, but then offered my money back after a minute or so. To be honest, the food would have been amazing if it were delivered hot. You could tell the seafood was fresh. But to wait an hour for cold food, get a rude attitude from the employee, and have it brought back cold again with another side of attitude ruined the experience. I can understand if they were having an off night, but seriously, train your staff to be nice! A simple "I apologize" would have been nice to hear, but we didnt even get that. Its enough for us to scratch this place off our list.

Very long lines, so you have to think the food is worth it, but it is hit or miss. We went for the first time and ordered mussels with pomme fries, crab cakes basket, and avocado with crab dip appetiser. The slaw that comes with everything is okay, but I have never been a huge slaw fan, so I am not a good judge. The melon served on this visit was sweet and ripe. The fish and crab cakes were delicious. The mussels could have been cooked in a bit more flavourful broth to pick up more of the flavour, but were still good, and the pomme fries were very good, albeit some bits were very strong in garlic. The appetiser had an interesting flavour to the crab. I wouldnt order it again, but it wasnt bad. The next visit we got the sea scallops with pesto pasta, jambalaya shrimp dish, a side of gumbo soup, and the fish basket. This time the melon was unripe, the gumbo soup and pesto pasta were completely flavourless. The sea scallops were absolutely fantastic, as was the fish, and the jambalaya shrimp. For the price and wait, I would have hoped more consistency. If we go again, we will definitely stick with tried and true dishes.

The location is nice, right by Minnehaha Falls, nice trees for shade, a great summer scene. Beers were nice and cold, although when we asked them to pour our second one in the same glass, we were told they were already poured, and we should have asked when we ordered them - we did ask when we ordered them. This is a busy place and the service is seriously lacking. The folks behind the counter seemed to be more interested in their personal conversations and each other than they were with the line stretching out the door. The calamari was very good, cooked just about perfectly with a very light almost tempura breading. The crawfish poboy was a disaster. Over cooked, over breaded and lacking in seasoning, hot sauce and mayo. There was a ton of the crawfish, too bad it did not taste good. I am not sure why such a huge portion, it was totally unnecessary, and kind of gross. I am mystified by all the great reviews this place has gotten, but if you would like a nice setting and cold beer, its a good place to go . P.S. dont expect a clean table.

I have tried this place twice now. They have solid seafood. The issue that I cant get over is that both times I waited over an hour standing outside in a line waiting to place my order. The last time I was there the two people in front of me left after waiting for an hour when the waitress told them that it would be at least 40 minutes extra to get your food once you placed your order. It is also difficult to get a nice chair with a seat back. So after waiting for 1 hr and 15 minutes to place my order, I had to settle on sitting at a dirty picnic table with only a bench for another 40 minutes to get food which was solid fried food at best. I only recommend going here on a rainy day or just before they open. FYI It took 30 minutes to find parking on a busy day. The parking lots are one way and people in front of you will sit waiting for others to come back to leave. How do you spell TRAPPED?
