The home of the Cincinnati Browns in Minneapolis is what MacKenzies pub claims to be. Located kitty-corner across from Rock Bottom and 2 doors down from Solara). I stopped down when Surly was giving away free cask Furious and had a couple drinks with Omar and Todd (owner and brewer for Surly Brewing). MacKenzies is one of 3 establishments in the Minneapolis area that carries both Surly beers in addition to their seasonals (I had a Furious, cask Furious, Bender, SurlyFest, AND Darkness all in one place!). What great guys. I listed all their other tap and bottled beers in the BeerSpy report if your interested. Some nice selections. Food consists of stuff like microwave pretzels, nachos, cheese sticks, wings, etc. Typical bar food (if it can be deep fried, etc). Service was nice (it was pretty dead in there with only about 5 people at the bar on a Thursday night). A nice bar to have a beer at but not all that much going on here.

Ah MacKenzies. When I worked at Solera, this was the place to go. Many a night was spent sitting in a bar stool talking to the bartender and the staff and complaining about work and life. Their beer selection is top-notch and the food is pretty good too. Derek the bartender is always super friendly and always has a good recommendation for you as soon as you sit down. The prices are fair and the atmosphere is good. The place is always clean and the employees seem to have a good time working there. If I could give six stars to MacKenzies I totally would. Keep up the good work and I will continue showing up after every shift!

While many servers and cooks here are great people, blonde girl server that puts her hair up is incredibly and relentlessly racist. Completely singled out the black guy we were hanging out with solely because he asked someone on the back porch for a cigarette. I did the same thing a second later and of course being white there was no issue whatsoever. Good place but please consider your staffs respect for all races when hiring, out of control lack of discretion.

Best tap selection in downtown, conveniently located on a bus stop... Good music (sometimes), pretty decent bar food, friendly, competent, unpretentious staff. A really decent smoking patio with heaters! Its a good place. Its a Cincinnati bar, though... So dont be surprised by that. I like the Scottish theme, but then Im half Scottish. Its not a dive bar, but youll be comfortable.

Wed never really noticed this place until last weekend so we stopped for a drink and a snack. Service at the table was really slow, but the smoked wings TOTALLY made up for that. We went with the jerk dry rub and quickly wished we ordered 12 instead of 6. The meat falls right off the bone. Well priced menu and looking forward to trying more of their food!

Great pub, delicious food. However, I had noticed that it seemed a little lax in there and sure enough I became very ill after eating here one night. Id still eat here again but I think no matter how comfortable and cool the staff can become with Paris-- they should always keep food safety standards.

Great bar food, good prices. The specials are always revolving, so its always something new to try. Typical beer selection. Usually the tap lines are dirty and the beer tastes crappy. The toilets smell and look like they havent been cleaned in ages, but this place is catering to locals, not tourists.

Went here for the first time on a Friday night recently, with some friends. Our server was a lot of fun. Beers arent overpriced. The burgers are GREAT! But call ahead and make sure that the upstairs ping-pong is open if that is a big draw- they sometimes close it when its not busy.

Went here last night with a group visiting from out of town and it was amazing. Not only was our server really nice but the food was amazing. Everything was cooked to order and all 25 of us ate at the same time. Will definitely be going back and recommending to my friends.

This down to Earth bar is full of a wide variety of craft beer, scotch whiskey and great people. It has an diverse mix of selection and no pretentiousness. If you like drinking good beer and playing big buck hunter in HD go to MACs.

Visiting Minneapolis stopped by the pub for a burger All I can say is WOW, then I took a few coworkers (11 of us) for drinks and dinner, everyone of my coworkers couldnt believe how awesome the food was. See you again Macenzie

Finished a bachelor party night out here and had the Macks Cuban sandwich. It was the best sandwich Ive had in years. I will be definitely returning for the great service, the chill atmosphere and the amazing food.

We enjoyed our meal and I enjoyed the beer selection, however I give a one star rating due to the slow service we received. If you have some time on your hands and dont mind waiting around, this place would be ok.

We to a show next door at the Orpheum. Decided after to stop and get a bite. We were pleasantly surprised! Waitress and food were great! She said they smoke their own meats. Smoked pork was very good!

The staff seems more concerned with themselves than the patrons. Dont leave any extra money on the bar, the blonde barkeep will snatch it up as her tip. Lame.
