Second visit, worse service than the first. Visited once at happy hour. The very gruff bartender barely let us have one drink at happy hour prices, let alone two. Didnt notify us when happy hour was getting close to ending, and only grudgingly got us a second roundjust before 6:00. Appetizers were unexceptional - meat and cheese plate warranted just two crackers for $11.95. Just came from Sunday brunch - went after the rush, about 11:30. The staff were much more interested in talking to each other and to friends who were in than serving us. Only one other group of two came in after us - the place was practically empty by this time - and yet it took almost 45 minutes for two easy breakfasts to arrive. Had to remind server about getting me a second cup of coffee. Staff were friendly this time, but still didnt really seem to give sh$* that we were there. Swanky interior with a grunge attitude - wrong music, wrong staff attitudes, really crappy service. Doesnt work for me. Seems like they need an experienced front of the house manager who can deliver what the decor and neighborhood promises. The initial vibe promises St. Pauls Cheekey Monkey, but delivers the Minneapolis Chatter Box with bad service. Somethings very off.

Interesting enough menu, but not a terribly warm and welcoming establishment. Service was somewhat lackadaisical soon after opening with only two or three tables occupied; left menus after taking orders, and seemed to prefer noodling with the PoS terminal on the bar near the kitchen over responding to repeated signals for assistance. However, the waiter was quite happy to push drinks, appetizers, and desserts at every opportunity (during happy hour, but obviously it was a well ingrained part of the sales strategy). Dont expect good value; entrees make up in price what they lack in size. $12 for pho is a non starter; $18 for a plate of "Thai Beef Curry" thats mostly sauce is just overpriced. (I remain unconvinced that the mild gastrointestinal unrest I experienced later in the evening, prior to eating anything else, was unrelated to eating the pho here—not an issue I typically have after eating pho.) Would be happy to gather additional data points for further enlightenment of other Google Maps users, but I honestly dont think this place is worth repeat patronage. This being my second visit (my first, in April 2011), Im inclined to try again in 2021 or so to see if things have improved.

This is, without a doubt, my favorite restaurant of all time. Its a 20 minute bike from where I live, and I make it at least once or twice a week. The food is ace, the servers are cool and accomodating, and its got a great ambiance. I try to make it for their Monday night trivia every week (starts at 8:30, in case I have piqued your interest) which is tons of fun even if you dont win. Its also a great place to go on a Wednesday (when they have a cheap wine deal) or Friday if youre looking for a more chill date-type experience. They have a great wine list with something on it for everyone, as well as a lot of great beers. They also have some cool-looking sake-tinis, although I have yet to try one. And, I will say again, the food is outstanding. I cannot stress enough how much I love this place! I love it enough that I created an account on this Google Places thing specifically to review it! Kings is the best!

The negative reviews here are puzzling. Ive been to Kings dozens of time, had almost all items on the menu, and at all times of the day and week [except morning]. Ive never had bad food there, and never had rude or slow service. I love the food -- the comfort food, like pot roast, tater tots or mac and cheese -- gourmet style. Im not a burger fan, but I love their burgers. Their salmon is awesome -- and, having just looked at their menu, have decided I have to go back soon to have the tagliatelle. And the comments about the atmosphere are even more puzzling -- the staff is always welcoming and there are all sorts of people there, looking very much like they are having fun. Ive been there with my kids, my friends, and some young people who were just acquaintances. We have always enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. The cost is about the same, or slightly less, than other similar restaurants.

Bad Sevice. Bad Food. The server was slow, rude, and didnt do her job. Having been a server for many years Im usually very forgiving, but our experience was inexcusable. I ordered a medium rare burger, after about an hour, it finally came...well done and tiny with the flavor and look of a little charcoal briquette. The drinks we ordered also took 20 minutes. After we ate, the server took another 30 minutes to get us the bill. I also will warn about the outdoor seating. I realize its supposed to have a cafe feel to it, but be prepared to sit on tiny chairs at a tiny table if you want outdoor seating. Its also fairly loud because of street traffic. Sadly, youd get better food, service, and value at a low end chain like Applebees. I certainly expected better.

Everything about Kings is great. I absolutely love having a restaurant in my neighborhood where I can try new entrées at a good price! Kings cooks up some flavors Ive never had at another restaurant and everything Ive ordered has been great! Ive had great service every visit. Some of their desserts come from Patisserie 46 right across the street which is another locally owned great business. Ive heard that Kings even sponsors a local cycling team so they also give back to the community they come from! I think they were voted best bathrooms in the city pages not long ago... very nice stuff ;-) I love the date night specials and half price bottles on Wednesday. They also do trivia once a week which is fun. You should go, itll be worth it!

After I read the current reviews on this place I expected the service to be poor, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Our server, Laura, was a very nice lady who came to check that we were happy with our order several times. I enjoyed my pasta, but honestly the mac and cheese was delicious and far better. Their selection of wine and other drinks was interesting, and I enjoyed my "black" port. (Though really it was just a dark ruby port, not sure why they called it black.) All in all it was a very enjoyable experience and Kings has been added to the list of restaurants I recommend to friends who visit me in the cities.

So kings is in my neighborhood. I have been waiting for this place to open for a while now. I went during the first week and was totally blown away. I dont often write reviews, but this was special. I ordered Luzon wine which was great and seemed to be priced low. I had goat fritters, and Tomato Mozzarella and pesto sandwich. It was hands down the best sandwich I have ever had. The bread was a little tough, but I saw they get it from rustica and I understood. The chef came out to talk with us and that just made it really special. Good luck I will be back.

This is a very disappointing place to eat, and I advise to find another place to eat. Their Pho is overrated, and their service poor, when one walks in mid evening there are chairs on the tables as though they are closed. One of their two servers eats in between servicing tables in a booth, and the history is a little bit on the off side as it is a young woman and a man whom seem to be the key people who are there. on a regular basis. They are not open for lunch and have latino cooks in the kitchen, does not fit the restaurants story of being the real deal.
