food was really good but the service was HORRIBLE :( we waited 45 minutes to get a table on the patio. Our waitress Kayla was so slow she took our drink order (which took over 20 minutes to get) and when we did the margarita looked like it had been sitting for a while and my husband got a tap beer when he ordered bottle which he would have liked to switch but she was gone so long he just started drinking it. Daughter never got a straw for her slushy. after our food arrived (which was awesome) delivered by the manager which we had to ask for a few things we asked our waitress for and she never brought. she came out and said what do you need so we told her again. Kayla never came back i had to go inside to the bar to get water which we never got when we sat down. the other waitresss on the patio were out there talking and having fun with their customers, what a disappointment this dinner was. She came and asked if we were done and i said yes so she went to get the bill. i gave her money and she made sure there was lots of 1dollar bills to get her tip in my change, needless to say she didnt get much!!!

My husband is half-Mexican and loves Mexican food, but I usually am unimpressed and prefer places like Chilis. I decided to try this restaurant out so my hubby could get his Mexican food fix, and I actually really liked their food (and so did hubby, so I guess it was close enough to authentic for him -- obviously no chain restaurant in MN is going to be truly authentic). Decided to give it another shot a couple weeks later, even tried something different, and loved that as well. Looks like we found our go-to Mexican restaurant! Oh, and since someone complained about the chimichanga being too spicy, I feel its worth mentioning: the queso blanco is spicier than Im used to (and also the best queso blanco Ive gotten at a restaurant), so if you order the Blanco Chimichanga, it will be spicy. I havent tried the green sauce, though, so I cant speak to that. You can probably ask for samples before ordering, otherwise you can at least get the sauce on the side and use a smaller amount. Hope this helps!

The wait staff took a long time, extra long time even to come over to take our drink orders, only about 20 minutes. Glasses were left empty waiting on a server. Management was non existent. Although the food actually did have flavor, dont expect peppers in your fajitas. Just onions, when I asked why only 2 peppers she replied the cooks are lazy. Waited 10 minutes for some peppers by that time my steak was cold. When you purchase a meal for $16 and you cant even get a simple vegetable thats sad. On another note, TEX-MEX uses and abundance of peppers, onions, tomatoes in their food. I am in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona a lot, about every couple months. The managers response?.... there wasnt one, one walked by and I thought I was going to able to speak with him, he looked at me, paused, then walked away. Sad and pitiful and this is coming from the top. Wont go here again and I advise for you to try another as well.

Took my family there to eat tonight, two of the four meals were fantastic, one was ok and one was bad. The combo platter my son ordered had the cheese melted to the point of being a grease pit on the plate on top of his enchilada. The service started out great so I gave the waiter a 20% plus tip but we sat there for over ten minutes waiting at our table for him to bring back the change. FInally the hostess came with our change and said he was too busy with other tables. The quality service changed to being the first time ever for poor service of that degree. There are other mexican restaurants in Coon Rapids to choose from...

Great food, great prices, a cut above your standard Mexican chain. We were expecting your basic cut-rate Mexican food - cheap ingredients smothered in sauce and sour cream. Instead, we got crazy deliciousness. My nachos had peppery, tender steak, house-made chips, and just the right amount of cheese and extras. My wife had a jalapeno-bacon-beef enchilada that was ridiculous in its goodness. Service was prompt, the server was awesome with our two kids, and the bill was cheaper than we expected it to be. Its weird to say about a chain restaurant, but this is the best Mexican food Ive had since we lived on the Arizona border.

Thought this would be a welcome change from the "norm" for my son and I. I was sooo wrong. Live and learn on choosing a restaurant with gross food, but the kitchen service was horrible. Dinner for 2 with no bar beverages took over an hour to get brought to our table. We got fajitas and a "fundido" something or other plus a queso dip. Our server did her part which I appreciated, but I lived and learned this lesson for sure. Nobody likes paying for a bad experience and this one cost me about $50 and more chips, salsa and queso I think Ive ever eaten while waiting for a meal I couldnt finish because I full on chips.

The food was poorly prepared, fairly bland, and far from authentic. The prices were outrageous, especially the drinks; $9 - 10 for a Margaretta, in the area the restaurant is located is nuts. On top of all this, the staff appeared clueless not just about their menu, but about working in a restaurant. But the decor is beautiful and well built, although the outside looks a but run down.

The chips and salsa tasted and looked they were from a bag and jar, not homemade, like a true authentic Mexican restraunt . The place was not busy and it took 10 minutes to get seated. Three employees walked by me with no eye contact or help getting seated. The staff was young and there was no manager in sight. My waitress, Amanda, was great but she clearly had experience.

My date and I came in on February 11th around 8:30p.m. and we had excellent service! We have been at the Coon Rapids store a handful of times and are always impressed with the sit down serivce. Our server, Ashley, was very happy, fast and attentive. Not only was she giving us great service but she was also being very helpful and friendly to her other tables!

By far the worst La Casita location to go to. The one located in Columbia Heights is much better; service is better, food comes out faster and employees are friendlier. The employees at the Coon Rapids location always look miserable and are slow to greet you. If you have never been to a La Casita and visit this one you will have a bad first impression.

Someone in a previous review said that the food was quote, "far from authentic". Like, what do you expect? Its a Mexican style chain restaurant in America! Take it for what it is: Good Mexican STYLE food. Would you like the Mexican drug cartel to hold you at gunpoint while you eat your chimichanga? Would that be more authentic for you?
