This Indian place is located in a complex opposite to Vanderbilt University, so you could see the college crowd in this restaurant. I was visiting Nashville over the weekends with my family and I was looking for an Indian place to eat for Friday evening as we couldnt get a table at a restaurant recommended by one of my friends. The place was jam packed and somehow the servers managed to provide us a table. The kitchen seemed to be busy with additional online food orders as well. For starters I ordered Samosa Chat and Tomato Soup. For the main course, we ordered 3 dishes - Dal Makhani, Paneer Makhani and Malai Kofta. In breads we ordered Garlic Naan and Lachha Paratha. Here is my rating to all the individual items - 1. Samosa Chat - 3 Stars - The samosa in the chat was ok but the chick peas gravy was amazing. 2. Tomato Soup - 5 Stars - The soup had a unique blend of spcies which was liked by everyone. 3. Dal Makhani - 5 Stars - The dal reminded me of the dal which I ate when I was visitng Punjab. 4. Paneer Makhani - 1 Star - The gravy was ok and it looked like it had too much color. Plus it was tasteless and was probably missing the salt. 5. Malai Kofta - 0 Stars - This was by far the worst kofta I had in my life. Everyone was so much disappointed in this dish. The koftas were to hard to eat and they felt like you are eating rubber. It was like pakoras served with gravy. 6. Garlic Naan - 2 Star - The Naans had pretty thick and raw edges which were not edible. 7. Lachha Paratha - 5 Stars - The star of our dinner was this Paratha. It was very well prepared and crisp. We even ordered more parathas as everyone enjoyed this. I believe this place is over-rated and I would not come back to this place again.

Super disappointed. First, the order was difficult to place. I got shuffled around to several people before one finally wrote down my order. My sister just had a baby at Vanderbilt, so I asked for it to be delivered. It took two young men to finally figure out my total, then the one on the phone with me repeated it. The one in the background said twice, "Not including tip." That was shameless. First off, Americans MOSTLY tip on deliveries. Indians are the ones who count their every penny. And this brings me to the food. I ordered chicken makhani, aloo gobi, and chana masala, plus 2 aloo parathe, one puri (I asked for bhatura, actually), and 2 mango lassi. Here we go. Lassi was spilled out of the cups on delivery. What little was there tasted like it came from a packet. The chana (chickpeas) were undercooked and tough, though the flavor was mostly okay. I hadnt ever had ketchup in chana masala before! The aloo gobi was nice- cooked to perfection, as were the parathe. The puri was a greasy mess. The rice was some mushy, short grained, overcooked mess that could never come from a conscientious Indian cook with any pride in his work. The butter chicken? Words cant do it justice. Thick, bland, colored sauce, chunks of chicken with bones in it, and the most disgusting consistency Ive ever tasted. Overpriced rubbish. Seriously. Please dont call your food Indian, for no self respecting Indian would serve that pure

I visited there for a buffet, the starters were Mixed veg pakora and Tandoori chicked. Pakora was good and was freshly made, and tandoori by the look of it i could say it was not fresh that was left back they just reheated in tandoor or may be an oven an placed it there and it was bad and not tender. In the main course , they had Naan , White rice , Chicken Biriyani with 3 veg curries and 2 non veg curries . The veg curries were OK to go with and the non veg ones were not so good no spice and even the meat used them was not fresh and the real pathetic thing was the chicken biriyani made with normal rice and tasted like veg pulao. In desserts they had jamun and rasmalai both were bad too. Starters - 2.5/5 Main course - 1.5/5 Desserts - 1.5/5 Staff behavior 2/5 , if you are an Indian they dont even care. Non Indians who are going to this place, this is not an authentic Indian joint , they use very less flavors in their food to make it cheap . Indian food is full of flavor , spice and made from heart. Just wanted to tell you the essence of Indian food , you can try here but not real Indian cuisine.

We were not very pleased at first when we called them to find out and get more information about their lunch menu, as we were travelling and not aware of what was available. The receiver on the phone said they dont tell people menu as they recieve 50 calls during the day for the same!!! :( RUDE. Then when asked about the price and vegetarian options he said we would have to go there to find out ourselves. Then he hung up! RUDE again. So I called again, and he said he did not hang up on our call but was receiving another call! Well, if that was the case we could have been informed that we were being put on hold. When we told him, that wasa very rude behavior for someone trying to give them business, he then started to tell us how food is so freshly prepared and there were a lot of dishes to appeal to vegetarians! Then he was in an apologetic mode all of a sudden when I mentioned how good reviews we had read for tgeir services, but which we did not meet our phobe call experiences! Sadly enough, we didnot pick that place, they did lose business for lunch buffet of 4 adults and a kid :(

I am not sure whether these reviews written on google were actually written by costumers or written by the stakeholders of this restaurant. I fell in a trap by reading good reviews about this place. I was there for dinner, and firstly had to wait a long (outside the washroom) for being seated. The have their counters just near the washroom where the owner asked my family to wait. There is no place to park from the main street, and we have to go round the building behind the restaurant to park our vehicle. the waiters were good, but one of them was cursing another customer in front of me. Although, the food was okay (Not excellent as other reviewers have said), it was very expensive. After seeing the bill, I was wondering did I actually eat for that much. I do not mid paying if the services and food was good, but truly it was not worth the cost. Being unsatisfied, I thought about not paying any tip on the bill, and guess what.. The owner asked me if I would pay some tip... How shameful and cheap for him........ I will never recommend anyone to go there.

This place rocks. Ive had Indian food in some of the best places in San Francisco (Naan n Curry), Portland OR (Swaget), Seattle (Roti), Spokane (India palace), St. Louis (India House), Louisville (Bombay), Kansas City, Chicago, Knoxville (Sitar), and Austin (Clay Pot), and Bombay Palace of Nashville rates right up there with the best! We were really happy to find this restaurant as we were passing through Nashvile. The baingan bharta was cinamony and tasty. The Chicken Tikka Masal was creamalicious and the chicken just fell apart in your mouth. The naan was perfectly cooked. And the pakoras were the perfect belnd of veggies and chick-pea flower. The one thing that truly blew me away were the chutneys, this time. They have about 5 or 6 chutneys that you get with papadam and they rock! The price was also great. Two of us ate for less that $40 (no beers...we were driving). The staff was very friendly.
