Despite being a very small place, the wait was apparently less than 15 minutes at about 9am on a Saturday. I, fortunately, was seated immediately as a seat had just opened at the 4 seat bar area. Coffee was decent, but the cups were small which wasnt a big deal as there was always someone seeing to the level of coffee. Interesting decor, an overabundance of kitschy paintings and statuettes. Reminds me of visiting a kindly aunt who cant let go of her knick-knacks. :-) I enjoyed looking around at all the different flavors of interesting. Unfortunately, I was seated next to some of it. I am a large man and felt as if one wrong move would knock multiple somethings over. Quarters were also tight with the other patrons at the bar. Some would find that cozy with a breakfast date, but my claustrophobia interfered and made me uncomfortable about not having a full range of motion with my arms. I did not factor space issues in to my rating, Im just looking out for others - sit at a table or a booth if you have mild personal space issues like I do. Something that did detract for me personally was the stool size in the bar area. I did not fit well on the teeny seat of the stool. I felt as if I was going to fall off the entire meal and I was uncomfortable. The only other thing that detracted was that the dishes from the last patron were moved to the other side of the bar and left there. I was staring at half a cup of coffee and a plate of uneaten pancakes for most of the time I was there. The food was simple and good which I love; going overboard on ingredients almost always ruins a dish. I opted for the Mexican influenced part of the menu. I had the Huevos Divorciados, a dish of fried eggs with two kinds of salsa along with black beans and crispy, diced breakfast potatoes. I particularly enjoyed the potatoes as they were hot and crispy. Most places make these potatoes mushy. Not here. The tortillas that came with it werent my style, but whatevs. Also, the food came FAST! I had barely finished my initial small cup of coffee and it was being placed in front of me. The portion size was large enough for a person like me (I tend to overeat), and the ingredients were simple. I saw some pancakes at the next spot over and they looked delicious! Next time, pancakes... next time. Overall a positive experience and the price was definitely right. For 13 bucks, I got a good sized meal and plenty of coffee and water. Id recommend.

Read some reviews and expected the place to be busy as it was noon on Sunday. They have a cool waiting area outside and it was nice out. Wait was about 20-30 min once inside the place is very small and cramped and we got seated at small round table as there was only two of us. Way too small of a table when your going to try out a new place. There wasnt even room for all our food. The waiter was very inattentive and thats ok with us but it took 15 min or so to get my wifes coffee and he forgot my soda and I had to ask for it. Now he didnt have a problem attending to the table behind us because there was somebody he knew there and they were served their drinks before we got ours and they were sat about 10 min after us. The lingonberry pancake was awesome, first pancake I have eaten my whole life without syrup! The chicken fried steak was decent and the breakfast potatoes were very good. My wife ordered a side of bacon and the Bacon was delicious(real applewood smoked and you could taste it!) My wife had the biscuits and gravy and the biscuit(homemade) was great and they used the same gravy on that as the chicken fried steak. I wouldnt recommend the Caramel roll. Overall it was an OK experience and we will maybe visit again but not going to make it a staple in our restaurant rotation.

My husband and I went Sunday morning around 9am and there was a huge line. We only had to wait about 30 minutes so it wasnt that bad. However, once we ordered and got our food we were upset we waited at all. The food was bland followed by more bland. I got a short stack of blueberry pancakes and the only flavor came from the butter & syrup, not to mention the bottom pancake was burnt. My husband got the nutella pancake and his were completely cold. We both got omelets the BLT Omelet for me and the Philly Omelet for him, both were flavorless beyond reason. The bacon on my omelet was overcooked and the tomatoes were cold. Never going here again, its not worth the trip or the wait.

In town from Chicago and looking for a local breakfast place. Went on a Sat morning and there was a very small wait. In the waiting area there are games to keep you busy. The rest of the restaurant has crazy figurines and wild pics on the wall. Voted best chicken fried steak in Minnesota so had to try and I was very happy with my choice. One of the best I have ever had. There was a high review for the peanutbutter pancakes so we had to try those too. Unfortunately that did not live up to the hype. So bad everyone took one bite to try and never touched again. Other than that everything was good. Nice place to go and prices are reasonable.

This breakfast place is very near my house, so Ive tried it several times. "Its OK," describes it pretty well. The menu has some unique takes on traditional breakfast food, but I havent found anything here that I can say is excellent. Most of what Ive tried has tasted pretty bland to me, especially the fried potatoes that come with most dishes. Those are very dry. The staff is usually friendly, the décor is a conversation starter, and to their credit the place is always pretty busy on the weekends. But unless Im too lazy to venture more than a block away from home, there are much better options in the area.

Hands down the best spot for pancakes in Minneapolis. We live downtown and have plenty of options for good food, and yet we still make the 15 minute drive every weekend just to eat here. And all so we can get the blueberry pancakes. Im not usually a huge pancake fan - I typically get an egg dish when we go out for breakfast, but these are the best pancakes Ive had in my life. And now I get them every time we eat here. Ive tried to find a place that rivals these pancakes, just so we dont have to drive on a Saturday or Sunday morning but I have yet to taste anything as delectable as these.

The food selections and quality are great. Even a basic PBJ for my 4 yr old. The malts/shakes won her over too. Im a fan of the Rachel and almost anything on the morning menu. BUT the espresso drinks are terrible and the brewed coffee is just ok. I cant tell if its the machine or just stale beans (or just bad quality beans). It could be any number of things but Ive given them several opportunities to get one right (caps or lattes) and Im just done. Food only an somewhere else for my caffeine fix.
