For a chain restaurant the burgers are fantastic! The multi-grain bun is delicious, the burgers are perfectly seasoned, and toppings fresh! We often choose this place when were looking for a good burger. The regular fries are just ok, though. Super thin, but not in a good way. The sweet potato fries are WAY better and what one should choose if looking for fries on the side. I personally get them as "Smash" style, which has a salt, rosemary, and olive oil seasoning. Very tasty!! One more thing..the ketchup. YUCK! Disclaimer: I dont generally like ketchup, and only very occasionally eat it with regular French fries. The first time we tried the regular potato fried my husband made a comment about the ketchup tasting weird. I tried a fry with ketchup (their own brand "smashburger" ketchup) and it was absolutely terrible. It was like thick sugar dip with a tiny bit of ketchup taste. Ewe!

Good burgers, but over priced for a fast food experience. Eating out of paper lined, metal baskets & drinking from paper cups isnt exactly fine dining. $25 for two burgers, a large fry, a fountain drink & a shake. Two kids were the only staff available at 4 pm on a Saturday. The people in line to order behind us were told, "Ill be with you in a minute, I gotta make a shake". The young man who brought the food to our table asked if we needed anything else, I asked for barbeque sauce, but he never came back with it. The burgers were very good, but honestly thats the only good thing I can say about Smashburger.

The only thing I dont like about Smashburger is their shoestring fries. The burgers are some of the best you can find in Fargo, their shakes are huge and delicious, the sweat potato fries are... can you do sweat potato fries wrong? And the haystack onions are a great substitute for onion rings. Top it off, you can even get your burger on a pretzel bun. Sort of like a mix between modern fast food and the 50s burger dinner, Smashburger is quick, average priced (~$7 for burger+fries), well made, and you can even get a bottled beer.

The staff were very patient while I dithered about making a selection. I ended up with the Spinach, Goat Cheese Salad and Smash Fries (Garlic and Rosemary seasoning) and a scrumptious Salted Caramel Shake. We got Fried Pickles as an appetizer and they were a beautifully finished nice sour to contrast the salad and fries. The staff acted happy and were smiling and happy to help by answering questions. I recommend this as a great burger house. My son loves their truffle burger.

We ate here on a Monday night about 7 pm or so. Ordered our food, tried to find a seating area and almost every booth table was dirty. It was despicable.. I ordered the Buffalo / Bleu cheese burger. When it came out it had so much Bleu cheese on it, you could taste nothing else. Disgusting. Plus for 2 of us to eat it came to like $25. For portions of this quality, thats ridiculous. Wont be coming here again. I felt as if the place lacked a real manager.

Wow! We were served very quickly. As a vegetarian I recommend choosing the create your own burger option. The black bean patty was pretty tasty and paired well with, guac, lettuce, tomato, onion, and jalapeño. I ate it sans the bun. My husband had the North Dakota burger. A little messy, but he enjoyed the taste. Polite and helpful staff. Very clean atmosphere. 4 stars instead of 5 because I felt it was A little pricy for a burger place. $25 for two.

Samshburger is Amazing! The smash fires are soo good. Smash fries fried pickled and a couple of burgers split between two people is awesome! Love it. Not sure what some of the reviews are about on here. In no way shape or form can this be compare to a McDonalds. Sure the cost is a but higher but you get what you pay for. What you get here is amazing service and delicious food.

BEST cheeseburger Ive ever had in my 46 yrs of eating burgers!! The fries are incredible, we ordered both the Regular Fries and the Smashed Fries which contain garlic, olive oil and rosemary... BOTH are fantastic!! It was my first time at SmashBurger and it wont be my last! If you have a SmashBurger joint near you go there NOW!! Hope you enjoy it like we did. Cheers!

They gave me someone elses order of only fries, which I didnt see until I was already too far away. The place was a bit filthy, no where near as nice as Smashburgers in the Chicagoland. The order also took much, much longer even though there were hardly any customers there, at 7pm. That should have been a clue, to walk back out the door, when locals avoid this dump!

A bit spendy for what you get. I guess they are trying for a gourmet fast food approach, but its nothing amazing. Decent food for sure, but high prices for what you get. Trying it once was fine with me, and would maybe go here once a year, but thats about it. Nothing to write home about.

Good selection of homemade burgers (beef or chicken) or you can create your own burger. Good selection of sides of fries. Tried the big (½ lb.) North Dakota burger & it was good. Total bill for a family of 4 (2 burger meals, 1 "create your own" burger meal & a kids burger meal)= ~$40.

Smashburger always has fresh fries, and the best food. I have chosen to eat here multiple times and have never been disappointed. The veggies are always fresh and taste great on every burger/chicken sandwich. And I cant forget the milk shakes. The milk shakes are the best!

They are pretty good. Nice shake. Fries were interesting. Toss in Franks red hot. Tons of burger choices that are different. They have a chicken version of each burger available. Price was ok. Seemed less expensive then a Fat burger or Five Guys. Would go again.

Fantastic food and even accommodates vegetarians. Can be a bit of a splurge so prepare for that, but its totally worth it! And Ive found the food and service is pretty excellent here no matter which part of the country you find em in!
