This is one of the best examples of the typical independent little Mexican places that shows up in any community with a significant Latino population. The type of place that caters to the whole community serving the basics like tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, and etc. Not necessarily authentic regional Mexican cuisine, but still quite tasty. The quality of the food at the Gran Plaza is better than is typical of these types of restaurants, as is the clean decor and attentive service. Quality of food is even, and they dont hit the chili peppers too hard, so dont worry if you dont like the heat. the only bad thing I have run into is the oddly thin queso dip that is an option with the inevitable bowl of tortilla chips that comes out while you wait for your meal.

The waiter was more than accommodating, let us order exactly what we liked. Service awesome. Food delicious. I would only change one thing and it was the chips with the chips and salsa you get at first. The chips were not freshly fried, but the salsa was homemade and wonderful. Would recommend highly and will go back often. My daughter and I met there, she is from Mankato and I am from Rochester. We had traveled to do some shopping at the Medford outlet Mall. We both said we will do this again, soon, and maybe just for the food, forget the shopping. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

Decent food at a reasonable price. No draught beer, but the margarita and Paloma were well-made. I had a shrimp dish. Generous portion of shrimp, a bit overcooked. Chips are quite thick. I prefer the cantina style. House salsa was fresh, tasty. Speedy service.
