This is a "go to" spot. Long ago I used to work at zantigos, and I got to know the owners pretty well. Lately the Fridley location has been on fire with quality and flavor. Im kind of sad they got rid of the kali burrito but just get a bean burrito with chicken and the extras you want and you got basically the same thing. Hot chilitoes are not all that hot but it does vary based on the peppers they get when making them. Though they are more hot than the mild, I like both. The taco deluxe with sour cream is fresh tasting may like the rest of the food. However, on occasion you will get a stale shell which can be a bummer but 95% of the time you are golden. Like most places it all depends on who is working. You might not be a big fan of fish but I implore you to try out their fish tacos during the lent season. Its the only time I switch what I get. The flavors mix so well together and asking for just a little extra sauce is recommended if you get a burrito but the tacos are what I usually go for. Bottom line, it IS fresh food and made on site which is rare from a quick service restaurant in todays world. I only give 5 stars to places that leave my satisfied and feeling like I got what value I spent,with the said they are a little expensive but the step up in quality feels worth it.

After reading the other reviews, I thought I had found a local hot spot, however, its just unseasoned beef, chesse, beans, and lettuce wrapped in a tortilla and called 8 different names on the menu. No spice, no heat, the burritos werent folded properly, the appearance is bland and lifeless, and it didnt feel like Mexican food at all. The all female staff were aloof, and acted like the were offended to work there and treated other customers that way when I visited. The restaurant was clean, and the prices were average ("chilito" $1.69, pictured). Not worth a visit.

Excellent Mexican food, but forget trying the Drive-thru after 9pm. Almost everytime after 9pm the wait times were extreme, yet no busier than a normal Taco Bell. One time the order-taker tried to dissuade me from ordering. I finally gave up one night when after 15 minutes there was no response from the order-taker. All the cars waiting eventually left. HUGE letdown for normally top notch restaurant.

I ate there once. The burrito was dry (on the inside too), lacked flavor, and adding sauce did nothing. This place is a low quality alternative to Taco Bell or Taco Johns. Id rather eat a frozen burrito than eat here again. And the customer service was rude and low quality as well. To anyone eating here I would advise eating the wrapper, as it will likely have more flavor and a better texture than the food

Zantigo has been around longer than taco bell, in fact taco bell bought out most of the zantigos around 30 years ago. Zantigo has the best mexican fast food you can find in Minnesota. The Chilito and the refried beans are the bomb! Everytime I am anywhere near here I have to stop!

Can we get another one built in my neighbor? Lol this is the best Mexican food. Used to go all the time as a kid. The chilicheese was the best. Always clean inside always fantastic customer service. In the 30 or so years Ive never had to return a wrong order. Great place!

This place has actual fresh and real tasting ingredients. Way better than taco bell! My first time here and its about double the cost of taco bell, but the food is much better. Friendly staff, cozy environment with nothing fancy. Definitely worth a visit.

Nasty. The potatoes taste like they have been cooked in the morning, itting in oil all day, and then reheated on the flat top when you order them 8 hours later. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra couple of miles to Taco Johns.

Not too many of these around nowadays, but its worth a visit. It totally has that 80s fast food vibe going on, but the food is tasty and a good deal more authentic than other fast food Mexican restaurants.

I used to work in Fridley and would come to this Zantigo a lot, for their "Sliders". Great food and super cheap. Not too sure on the health side of things, but that isnt why you come to a place like this.

Yummy chilitos, and tacos and burritos and enchiladas and.......I could go on and on. Ive never had anything bad from here or experienced bad service. This place is definitely a favorite of ours.

Fast food Mexican. The ground beef based menu items are IMHO better than those of their better-known competitors. I tend to stick to those items and avoid the steak/chicken ones.

Found Zantigo a couple of years ago and havent been to one of their competitors since. The Hot Chilito is the best thing i have ever had from any fast food chain period.
