It been over ten years since Deerfield has had a Mexican restaurant. I have had to travel to Highwood or Highland Park for decent Mexican food. It was a nice surprise to see a new Mexican restaurant open on Lake Cook Road near the Metra. We visited about a month after it opened. First thing I noticed was the large Mexican beer selection with my favorite Negro Modelo on tap. The decor was pleasant and traditional. The chips were just right with two tasty salsas. The food was cooked with the right amount of seasoning and flavor. We had the queso appetizer and two kinds of fajitas. For dessert we had the flan which was a large portion that we shared. The flan was the I have ever had. The restaurant was family friendly. This my new favorite Deerfield restaurant.

Vegetarian review ahead. Slightly different take on Mexican food however it was good. The salsas are completely different from what youd typically expect but they were tasty and enjoyable. They are more like a sauce than typical chunky salsa. The habanero salsa/sauce is not as hot as youd expect but very good. The chips are excellent and my enchiladas were also great. They were a little too liberal with the mole sauce which are also a tad bit on the sweeter side for me. I got spinach and mushroom enchiladas both of which were excellent. While it didnt hit the spot for Tex Mex food (Don Pablos does it for me), it was darn close.

Great Margaritas, Mediocre Mexican food. I cant say much beyond its exactly what I expected. I would have given it three stars but they pour one heck of a Margarita here. during happy hour (4-6pm Tues-Fri) they sell them for 6$. A great value. They also have a small happy hour menu with 5$ appetizers, of the ones I have had none have been good, but all have been acceptable salty compliments to the margaritas. If you are looking for amazing Mexican food, go elsewhere, but if you want a quick bite, and a nice drink this is a great place for it.

Always a delicious meal... Best though is the warm welcome. I really enjoy having a meal here... Its like family to me. Its my understanding the entire menu was created by Carlos mother... real home cooked meals here. My favorite are the shrimp cocktail and cucumber jalapeño margaritas. I have had their soups... They a delicious. My family enjoyed their entire menu over the several times being here. Children friendly adult exclusive as well. For a very cordial restaurant in Deerfield I highly recommend this place.

I went there after work with colleagues for happy hour after trying a couple other local Mexican restaurants (either very expensive or not so great), and was thrilled. The Margaritas are FANTASTIC! Very tasty and they dont skimp. The food is great too -- ceviche, tamales, burrito -- all excellent and reasonably priced. Ive been back twice in the last month after my first visit. Highly recommended.

I literally LOVE eating @ this place a few times a month, my daughter and I have our own favorite table and some of the servers already know that... Went here based only on an online review. I was a little hesitant since the area is mostly filled with cookie cutter chains. I was pleasantly surprised. Nice folks, good food slightly different, but totally delish, and a margarita that I could actually taste the tequila! Well be back for sure.

My family and I loved this place. The service was really top notch and the food was wonderful!!! The servings are of good portions and the taste is really authentic. The guacamole and the fried dough appetizers are a must. If youre passing through or live in this area dont miss this place!!!

Overal decent food, decent prices but man... when you have live music in a dining room at 5pm, turn down their amps to like 3. It was super loud. The other thing I didnt like was that I ordered enchiladas and they refused to let me have multiple sauces on each one. Whats up with that?

Great food, people and atmosphere! Carlos, Luis and the entire staff make you feel right at home when you arrive. I recommend this establishment for small or big parties. The service is top notch and so is the decor. They really know how to take care of there customers!

The beer selection was far beyond what I had expected. The staff was engaging and friendly. The food was ok, but I feel it was lacking in flavor compared to home. Good experience, but will likely only be back for the beer and guacamole.
