Pro: About as good of Mexican food as you can get in Minnesota. Cons: * They mess up my order almost every single time. Ive been there about 40-50 times and Id say 35 of them my order was messed up. Their arent apologetic or professional when it happens, but rather act like youre causing them an inconvenience. * The food takes too long. I get that its made to order, but it still takes too long for what it is. * Calling ahead (since it takes too long) is super frustrating. Usually an illegal answering the phone that barely speaks English. Very unprofessional over the phone in general. * Calling ahead; their isnt a separate line for this, so it pretty much defeats the purpose. The entire ordering system needs attention. * Parking - the parking lot is too small so its always a hassle to park. * Salsa - None of their employees seem to know the difference between their mild, medium and hot. I pay an extra $3-$4 every time I carry out to get a big container of salsa (medium), its been wrong every single time. I know which is medium because the owner told me and their is an explanation of their menu. * Ordering in the restaurant - the same illegals that answer the phone are usually taking orders. I get that its a Mexican place, but at least have the person that takes orders understand English, after all this is the USA and we are in Minnesota. I am basing this review on 40-50 trips to this place. I keep going because its close to my house and it is good food. But the ordering needs attention, they could stand to have someone that speaks English well taking orders, they need to have a company meeting about which salsa is which, a separate line for calling ahead would be nice (or maybe online ordering), and they should double check orders as its super frustrating to call ahead, drive there, struggle to park, go over your order with the guy that barely speaks English only to get home and have it messed up 90% of the time.

First, I can agree with some of the negative reviews. Once or twice out of hundreds of visits since they opened - I used to live two blocks from the place and ate there almost everyday - I had some kind of bad experience. Quality control on the bone-in-the-beef products, Andalé. Youre better than that. Im not exaggerating those numbers; those are better statistics than any other restaurant Ive been to. Sorry if anyone else had a bad experience. I love this place and go out of my way to grab a taco even if Im not hungry. Bewm. This place has better tasting Mexican food than I got IN MEXICO or Texas and Im thorough, adventurous, and picky as hell. Southwest in general. Torchys is fun, but not really authentic. I challenge someone to find a better ESTABLISHMENT-produced taco in the Midwest or really anywhere. Your family recipe doesnt count. Dont hesitate to check it out. In addition: If you think this place is expensive...stop eating in restaurants...you have poor taste and an ultra-thin wallet. The quality of what you get for the money is fantastic.

Stop #1 Stopped by for lunch yesterday after having seen the place on TripleD. Fantastic Burritos and Tacos...fresh ingredients and the place was rocking. I was a bit disappointed that I didnt see the Tamales on the menu anywhere and that was an item I was looking forward to getting. The food was outstanding and the grocery store next door was awesome as well, we brought home some items from the butchers and some spices and sodas. Grabbed a couple of Churros for the ride home....Cool place, well be back. Update...I now see the Tamales listed in the Breakfast section of the menu....my fault. Stop #2 I think this was our second or third stop by Andale Taqueria and we loaded up the cooler at the Mercado before heading out too. Had a Tamale and a Torte Sandwich and Terri had the Chicken Tacos...all delicious! Updating to 5 Stars due to the friendliness of the staff in both the restaurant and the market place.

Go to El Loro down the block on American Blvd and Normandale!!!! Literally 10 times better. These guys used to be good. Now everything is super greasy and they are insanely stingy with the salsa. The owner gave me two spoons worth of salsa for 6 tacos and acted like he was doing me a favor by giving me a third 1/2 full small container that equated to a spoon worth more. He told me if I wanted anymore than that, I had to pay for it. As though he had no control over it. Salsa costs nothing to make and he is being a cheapskate about giving the customers enough. He trains all of his employees to be cheapskates with the customers, also. Never again. Go to El Loro. They have amazing food thats not greasy and awesome giant margaritas for cheap.

Im sure there are reasons to give this place less than five stars, but food quality is not one of them. Nor is price. Nor is location. Okay, fine, location is justifiable. I cant give half stars or I would. The parking lot is a nightmare very usually. But the food makes me stop caring as soon as I walk in the door and smell it. And then look at it. And then taste it. As an incredible bonus, my personal favorite bottled soda (carbonated apple juice beverage?) of all time is sold at the market next door. I buy them out. All 6 or 8 bottles. Every time I go. Only one other market that I know of in the Cities sells that stuff and its way over in south St. Paul. What to get here? Anything al pastor.

When you walk in you would be forgiven for mistaking this place for a fast food joint. Limited seating and the bill boards for menus. But dont let looks deceive you. This is some of the best Mexican in town. Generous helpings of everything, extremely well prepared chicken, beef, or pork specialty dishes plus, fresh made guacamole and chips makes this place a winner. The only reason they did not get 5 stars is horrible parking due to the place being tucked between a gas station and a convenience store. Expect to wait to find a parking spot or walk a bit from parking up the road or across the street. If you can deal with that and maybe a wait to be seated. Its well worth going.

I went here last week for the first time and I really liked it. I live ~20 minutes away and I thought it was worth the drive. I plan on going back, especially if Im in the area. Id also recommend it to anyone whos looking for some good/authentic Mexican food. Their meat selection alone is worth going to see. Its great to go alone, on a date, or a small group. We had six in our party and I dont think Id go with any additional people, six was enough and we even had to pull three tables together in order for all of us to sit together. Finally, they have a store adjacent to the restaurant... definitely worth checking out!

Food is delicious. Ive been slowly eating my way through the menu and trying all the unique and authentic dishes. I havent had anything yet that I wouldnt recommend wholeheartedly - my favorites so far have been lengua and tripe tacos. However, the dining room is rather cramped and the menu can be overwhelming and confusing. When out-of-town family visits, its great fun for some to try new and interesting food, but many are put off. Between the cramped room and confusing menu, many feel rushed and resort to just ordering the first familiar thing they see.
