We were in town from Canada and were craving Indian food. Upon looking at the reviews of this place, we had high expectations of the quality of food as well as their service. The reason for my one star rating is that the restaurant closed at 10pm and we walked in between 9:15 and 9:20 looking to be seated. At first, even though two of the employees had seen us walk in, it seemed like they had a disappointing look on their face (probably thinking "not another customer" ). After waiting around for a good five minutes even though they were not busy at all, someone finally came to greet us and told us that they were not accepting customers anymore because they accept their last table at 9:25. What restaurant stops accepting customers almost 40 minutes before closing time? Plus we had technically made it before their last call. The staff was rude and even after telling them that we were there to specially try their restaurant they refused to take us. After a couple minutes of argument, they finally decided to seat us. But the whole time we were there we felt rushed and we were not treated nicely. There were other people still eating their food while we quickly finished our food and left right at 10. They should learn a thing or two about customer service. There food was alright, wasnt the best but wasnt the worst either. I wouldnt recommend this place simply based on the service we got. Maybe they were in a bad mood, but that is still not an excuse to treat customers poorly.

Cant say enough good things about Indian Palace! Ive suffered for years without any Indian food in this area but was skeptical of this place when I saw it being constructed. From the outside it looks like a chain so I didnt have high expectations. Turns out, it IS a chain (well, sort of. There are only 2 other locations, both in the twin cities), but upon strong encouragement from friends who had been to their other locations, I ventured in last week. WOW was it good. I absolutely loved the atmosphere - quite busy (but not crowded and not noisy), and the decor was beautiful (unlike, sorry to say, a lot of other authentic Indian restaurants). Service was a tiny bit slow, but nothing to write home about and we wanted to relax anyway. And the food was just as good as, if not better than, many other Indian restaurants Ive been to in the Twin Cities. Their portion sizes were smaller, but that was fine with me. (Enough to bring home another meal, but not so much that youre eating leftover Indian food for a week.) Definitely will be back here on a regular basis and so happy I dont have to drive to Edina for Indian food any more!

One of the worst Indian Palace I ever went to. The waiter that was our waiter was not family oriented at all. I went there with my wife and son. He approach us and poured us two cups of water when theres clearly three of us. He never asked if we wanted something else to drink besides water. We tried to get his attention and tell him we wanted other beverage to drink other then water. he shrugged us of and told us hell be right back more then once. He act upon like he was very busy when clearly there was only one other group of three siting right behind us. The entire establish was empty. The food on the other hand was ok not the greatest. Ive been to many other location beside this one and the food here seem to be the worst. The restroom was very filthy. The floor was wet and looks like the toilet was over flooded and spilled. There was drench tissue all over the floor along with it being wet. I do not recommend this location to any one who is planning on it unless you dont mind what Ive mention above. I will no longer be attending this place again anytime soon.

This is the worst indian restaurant that i have been to in my life. Last night i order chicken tikka, dal makhani, and rice. First of all when i cut the chicken piece it was pink from inside and then i cut rest of the pieces and all were pink from inside, so the chicken was uncooked. Then came the dal makhani, worst tasting dal of my life. Even a person who does not know how to cook can probably make this dal 10 time better. I advise you if you are looking for decent indian food for ur money stay away from this place. Last night was my first and last time going here. Find another restaurant and save your money. This is not indian food, only the name is indian thats it.

Went there for the first time for a buffet with my friend. Food wasnt as good as it looked. The moment we started eating it caused discomfort in our stomach(probably due to baking soda added to the food) and we had to literally force to feed ourselves to eat. The waiter was staring at our table for quite a while that made us uncomfortable. I would rather go to the ones in Uptown and St. Louis park than this one. Honestly, i was surprised by some peoples high tolerance level for baking soda, who were enjoying their food as if nothing was wrong with it. I would still give it 2 stars just to go and try.

This is THE BEST place to go in Burnsville, especially if youre looking for something different and not chain-like. For me, the spice level is fantastic. The choices for the lunch buffet are abundant and constantly changing. There are plenty of options for vegetarians, but if youre into the meat its extremely high quality with no brown spots or fatty chunks (lol, used to be a vegetarian, extremely meat picky). I cant say enough good things about this place. My family and I go there at least once a week and my 2 year old asks for it by name.

I love this place and go back whenever I can, I moved to St. Louis Park but my family always comes up with excuses to make the drive down to Burnsville. The buffet is great, everything is fresh and they rotate between things you always expect to be there but always 1-2 dishes Id never think of ordering off the menu. They even had fried bread on top of regular naan. The service is great as well, owner is super nice and makes you feel incredibly welcome. Referred my co-worer, their family love it too! Give it a try!

I like India Palace in Burnsville. The food is consistently good, the waitstaff is very friendly/efficient, and its an excellent alternative to the normally blah suburban food scene. Remember though that this isnt London or any other city where Indian food is much more than the basics. At India Palace there are no daily specials, the menu is pretty straightforward, and "Indian Spicy" is not as hot as it should be. If you can get past that, India Palace is a welcome site in Burnsville!

I like spicy food and want to try Indian food close to my place and found this restaurant. The place and service is great! I ordered samosas, shrimp makhani, potato naan and garlic naan. I asked for extra spice on my shrimp makhani, it was delicious with garlic naan. The samosas with sweet and spicy sauce was great bite. Food is not spicy as you expect in Indian restaurants, if you want to your food to be spicy you need to mention it before.
