Aahhhh, where do I start? We just moved to the area and I wanted to find a good mom and pops restaurant to go to eat at, so we choose this one even though I make amaxing mexican food so Im not a big fan of mexican restaurants because it never tastes authenic enough. OMGGGG! SO AMAZING! there salsa verde is better than mine and im pretty proud of mine. I had the chicken fajita and it came with SOOOO much I could even finish a 3rd, the margaritas a bit expensive but it was good, my boyfriend had a smothered burrito and it was AMAZING as well and I bormally HATE smothered burritos but he insisted I tried it! Definitely our new go to dinner place!!!!

Usually Google Reviews are spot on - not sure how this missed the mark. Honestly this place was way underwhelming than I expected. We ordered Guacamole - it was cold, not enough salt or spice. I also got Chicken Fajita - the chicken was under cooked. The drink special is Margarita for $5 and Bud and Bud Light for $2. This is the only good thing. Place is run down. It is not in a great part of town. My friend got fish taco combo. Again was very mediocre. I would avoid this place.

Awesome food! Terrible service!! Ive gotten carry out from here three times and every single time Stephanie the bartender takes her sweet time handing over our food. We spent 40 minutes on a carry out and I know thats not how long it took to cook our food because once it was wrapped up, it sat in the kitchen window. It is frustrating that the staff here dont have any sense of urgency when handling guests orders. Im begrudgingly going to go back because their food.

If I was ever on the show "Best Thing I Ever Ate," hands down my choice would be the Ceviche tostadas at Jalapenos. I moved away a few years ago, but anytime Im back in town I always make it a point to have at least 1 meal at Jalapenos. I still havent found any better rice and beans and the creamy salsa Verde is "the bomb." 3 different salsas to sample is a bonus. I have found the staff to always be very friendly and helpful as well. Thank you Jalapenos!

Support your local Mom & Pop restaurant like this outstanding local Mexican Restaurant called Jalapenos Mexican Restaurant in Pontiac. The staff and owners are Mexican descendants that speak fluent Spanish and English. The food is authentic Mexican food (both American Mexican and real Mexican). The prices are economical and the portions are large. Its a win, win, win for everyone.

As a vegan, I gave this place a chance. The atmosphere was nothing special. The server was nice but had no suggestions when I told her I wouldnt eat dairy or meat. Needless to say, even though I ordered beans and rice with veggies, which was the only thing I could have, there was still meat in my meal due to the method of cooking the beans. Come on now...

1st time there party of 5. reasonable prices. warning the nacho supreme is the size of a large pizza and oh so good. our party loved there meals. our waitress was knowledgeable, telling us the specials. We all enjoyed the salsa and chips. Each one of us are stuffed. Were so excited we found a great Mexican restaurant. We will all be back.

A little on the pricy side more than what I usually pay for botana but definitely big portions , you will be leaving very full. Service was fast and friendly. Every time Im out in Pontiac I will be going here , our chips and water stayed full the whole time I was there. Very good

Was told about Jalapenos by friends...better than I expected! Great Margaritas! Incredible carnitas tacos, tamales, chicken Enchilada Verde and the three salsas and chips!! Yum!!! Highly recommended!!!! You dont be disappointed!! Best Mexican food I have had in a long time!!

Real authentic food finally! Amazing food, friendly staff and the outdoor patio very cozy. I have been in for lunch and for dinner always good service. Shout out to the bartender on Friday nights! Always attentive and good humor. Favorite mexican place by far.

A nice place and a nice parking lot. I dont really like their quesadilla which I have ordered. I think its something I could made myself. My family enjoy their food though. Went there again recently and got something different this time. It was delicious.

The food is good but expensive. Dont like the fact that you cant place a to go order over the phone. They always say come up here n place the order and it will be ready in 15 minutes! I dont wanna sit there 15 minutes, I wanna pick up my food and leave!!

Jalapenos is a small location in an area you wouldnt expect. Great menu and food. A lot of General Motors employees go here for lunch. Pretty close to authentic if that is what you are looking for in Mexican cuisine. They always have a daily special.

I ordered a burrito that was small. I was told it feeds 2 people and was a nice size. I also ordered fejhitias steak, and it was small portions. It was told it was $29 and I cant order there again if I didnt pay for it! Grrrr! Stick with the nachos!

One of our favorite places to dine! Especially on the weekends, our family has a great time here, the food is terrific, drinks are great (esp the margaritas!), the service is excellent, the music adds to the wonderful atmosphere.

Great vegan dishes! A vegetarian;s delight¡ I worked 4 yrs just down the street and the taco dinner special is the one to get. Hard shell w/ ground beef. You just cannot top it. We did a lot of business with the Hispanic

Nachos and salsas are amazing food wasnt bad very filling but our service was not very good sadly but it was a tiny bit short handed aswell soo I guess make of it what you will but I say 3 out of 5 for sure

Very delicous Mexican food, in particular tacos. One of the few Mexcian restaurants, which serve Posole and typical Mexcian drinks such as Jamaica and Orchata. Ambience is simple, but nice.
