Stopped in for the first time in years...menu/food has changed. Got a burrito with rice and beans, standard fare. Unfortunately, the rice looked like it was days old (a few hard pieces in there), and the meat in the burro was completely un-spiced. It was literally just ground beef cooked and thrown in a tortilla, not a touch of spice. Not even salt or pepper. Other than the bad food, the draught beer tasted like they have never cleaned the lines. The third straw was I had asked them to turn the TV above the bar to CNN. The bartendress did so and I was at least watching what I wanted, that is until one of the waitresses wanted to watch wheel of fortune so she turned the channel and when I mentioned I was watching that, she stated but we always watch wheel...yup, and that is far more important than those pesky customers...gave 2 stars cause the bartendress was at least very nice...

We have lived all over the country and have had Mexican food in many states.... even the Mexican food in North Carolina was a hundred times better than this. Honestly, I am not that hard to please, but this was the worst food I have had out in the last year. Why? The refried beans, rice, and salsa were all clearly out of a can. Frozen Mexican food from the grocery store is more authentic than this. Even the chips were substandard. The chicken in their dishes is at least 50% dark meat. The only thing I do not understand is why this place is always so crowded! The service was good... but that does not make up for the lack of food quality at all. We ignored our instincts when we did not see a single Spanish-speaking person on the staff or in the restaurant. Por favor.... do yourself a favor and do not bother.

I wouldnt give it a star. The waitress was amazing. She had the bill voided, which was the best thing about this place. The food was microwaved, then broiled to get browned cheese. The sauce in my burrito was separating from itself, the chicken was clearly frozen and microwaved which gave it the worst texture ever, the sides you could tell had been sitting in a container on the counter for hours. The freshest thing on the plate was the salad, which I think was suppose to be pico de gallo. My fiances burrito was oily, the meat was prepackaged, reheated, same sides as mine. Chips were from a bag, and salsa from a jar. The interior was horrendous. Id be ashamed to be the owner.

The salsa was very salty and like something you buy from the grocery store. The chips were average. My boyfriend and I ordered the Fajitas for two with steak. I had to spit the steak out because it was so chewy, I couldnt swallow it. We also asked for the steak to be cooked medium and there was not a single piece with pink. Our drinks sat empty for at least 10 minutes before we had to ask for a refill, even though our waitress had passed our table many times before that. For an almost 40 dollar meal, I was very dissapointed in the food and service.

Wonderful food. Great ambiance. And super waitress ! Always great at El Nibble Nook. Thanks ...rok just came home from my fav restruanr ha...NOT their best day.... restaurant was empty ....they allowed a group of loud faced 4 some to seat them selves next to us in an completely un-seated area which completely disgusted & distroyed our anniversary dinner! Thanks El Nibble Nook! You get a -10 on the scale of hospitality!!! And we frequent your place at least 3x month; maybe not anymore!!! and chefs :)

Have been going to the "Nook" for years... Its become a favorite place with friends for dinner, drinks, and celebrating birthdays. The staff is fun, and the management is great, too. Have several favorite dishes, but lately its the Mexican pizza I order most often. They must be doing something right... They have lots of repeat customers that have become familiar faces. Its a good local spot, and lucky for me, its on my way home from work! Sue

I work right up the street from here and I love to get lunch here-- all the food is very FRESH and seems very healthy and satisfying, especially for a Mexican restaurant! There are so many vegetarian options! Their beans and rice are always dry and plain though, but this is the quickest place to get a filling and feel-good meal for the best price.

They were short staffed, which isnt their fault, but they definitely took their time seating us. Our waitress was good and the food was really good, BUT we had over three fruit flies circling our table. It was annoying/gross enough for us to ask for boxes early. We will definitely be considering that the next time we go to eat here.

Great establishment. The staff are friendly and food is great. The margaritas are the best in town. Guac is great, also try the Tijuana Bypass you wont regret it. The bands there on Saturday nights are pretty good. The place looks clean, and Ive also seen the kitchen so I strongly disagree with the Hells Kitchen reminder post.

Service was okay. Got a burrito with rice and beans as sides. The portions were very small considering that dish was $14. Chicken in the burrito was cut into cubes which was really weird and it felt like I could have made it myself and spend less than $14. Save yourself the time and instead go to Burrito King in Wixom.

The food is really good and came out within just a couple minutes of being ordered. Our waitress was very friendly and attenive, never letting our drinks come close to being empty. The restaurant could use a little updating though, its a little dated inside. Overall, the food and margaritas were excellent.

It just seems weird to me that their salsa and Ranchero sauce tastes like tomato sauce one would use in pasta. The absolute worst ever Mexican food. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, try El Patio, FAR superior for less than half the price AND their chips and salsa are great.

The pollo Blanco is hands down the best burrito! Margaritas cant be beat. Salsa is spicy with a great flavor. Ive had many other items on the menu and have never been disappointed. Also had my bridal shower there as well. The buffet and private area was perfect all around!

Took my fiance there for our first visit and we loved it. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful. The food was delicious and the setting is what you would expect from a classic Mexican restaurant. Will definitely be visiting frequently

Commercial! Authentic? Pretty sure that was El Paso salsa that i had, which can be bought at any local supermarket. Chips were right out the bag. Entrees were OK but a little boring. Was quite disappointed, expected more.
