Having never been here before, I was completely taken by this bustling not-so-little bakery the moment I walked in the door. The selection of tasty cakes, brownies, cookies, pies, everything - was so delicious looking that I truly had a tough time narrowing down what I wanted & ended up getting 4 or 5 things(just for myself)! Im starting off with just a simple (but rather large) croissant & it is fresh & flaky. My fiancé got himself a toasted everything bagel which he described as "just right". On top of these tasty treats, one of the 7-10 women working behind the counter very patiently and pleasantly helped us pick out a delectable assortment of cookies, canollis, baklava, and some random brownie & cheesecake options! We walked out with so many sweets that Im sure Ill have a difficult time eating them all (which is not a usual issue for me...I have quite a sweet tooth), and we spent less than $40! All I have to say is, it is a good thing for my waistline that I dont live within walking distance of this wonderful place!

I returned a 8 inch Birthday cake to them yesterday it was not fresh and it was what they call their buttercream? It tasted more like the marshmallow fluffy cream the owner was very rude and told me I should have bought a cupcake from them since I did not like the cake no one ate that cake it tasted awful and the gal that works there in the afternoons that sold me the cake said these cakes are brought in from another company? So to say the least I will never buy the holiday nut rolls or any other item from them! They charged me 18.99 for a marble fluffy cream cake and I returned it and they took off my charge and I went to COSTCO for the huge Buttercream Vanilla mouse filling was also 18.99 Better made quality and much more cake for the same price and so made better! The customer service was awful! I give them 1 star? I have no clue why I am even giving them 1 star cause it will not let you post without a star.

The wait was longer than I had anticipated. I also ordered an Asiago cheese bagel that the woman eventually burnt severely and still sold it to me. I hadnt realized it was MY bagel she burned until after I had left. It was inedible to me. But the donut I got was delicious. Just make sure when you order, to tell them EXACTLY how you want your bagel done to avoid a situation like mine. Otherwise, they have a great selection of items; both bakery & deli & the service from everyone else was great. I feel like the one I experienced was having a bad day.

I went here to get bagels and I was kind of surprised they only had 6 bagels when it was about an hour after they opened. I asked if they were making more but thats all they had and she was pushing me to buy them, but I didnt like any of the ones they had and there wasnt enough to fed everyone. I told her sorry and that we were okay. She treated me really rudely and basically told me off because I didnt take what they had. Based on the experience I wont return.

AMAZING customer service! I was so frustrated talking to 5 other bakeries about doing a gender reveal for my family. This bakery not only understood a gender reveal, but they went above and beyond to make it happen with my favorite donuts- boston cream donuts! And so reasonably priced!! I will definitely highly recommend them and will use them again in the future!

You cant find any place better than the sweetness inside of this bakery. Some of these comments are so funny. Everything is baked right there, by hand, at East Detroit Bakery. Served with smiles and great top quality customer service. Everything is always fresh! Having a bad day? Walk inside this place and youll walk out smiling, along with your stomach

Friendly and helpful in providing just the perfect dessert! Special ordered mini cannolis and "fresh, light and delicious" cannot do them justice! DELICIOUS! Also purchased a cherry streusel! Have also tried cupcakes and ordered cookie trays for funeral services! Fresh breads cant be beat! Never been dissatisfied with ANYTHING.

I never really liked cream filled long johns that much, until I tried theirs! Now I crave them, they are that good. The staff seems nice enough. The bakery has a lot of variety, include deli items, coffee, and a small seating area. The only thing I dont like is the parking lot. But they dont control that, Im sure.

Great and friendly ladies that work there and they sell some great quality items most definitely. I cant help myself but go there once a week no matter if Im getting one Danish a bag of markdown products or something fresh like that cheesecake. if you have never tried it I definitely suggest it.

Our favorite bakery on the Eastside. Awesome cakes, cookies, donuts (buttercream long johns, sigh!), bread and...wait for it... amazing bumpy cupcakes!!! Cheesecake slices in tons of flavors, and a full service deli with Kowalski lunch meat. A great, friendly place on 9 Mile!

Cake was great staff was rude. Believe her name was Annette, after I paid for my full sheet cake she told me to get my cake off the counter as I was waiting for someone to pick it up. Told her how rude she was and left. Will never return. Will go to bommaritos or guseppie

Great selection of pastries! There must be twenty different kinds of cheesecakes. Stop by and ask for one of their pastry tour guides to show you around. They also have good Paczki in February!
