This was my first and last time as a patron of this establishment. While the sides were decent, the service was detestable. The server was not the problem, but the MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!! Upon ordering the catfish, I and another patron was dining with realized that it was not freshly cooked. After sending the food back the server returned to the table with a look of foreboding on her face. We were informed that we could not order another dish, but that they would drop some more fish. At this time we had lost our taste for fish, would not accept the offer and requested that we speak to the manager. A man, that was previously a sleep behind the serving line, hobble over to the table and began to talk down to the entire table, stated "well I didnt catch and clean the fish today, that is not my problem," "this is a cafeteria with food sitting out, what do you expect!?!?!?!?!?!?" and before we finished talking turned and walked away from the table. At that time the mans wife approached the table and informed us that he was not the manager, but the owner. She began telling us about his "condition," began venting tho customers about her husband, that she was a minister and then began to question the Christianity of the table!!! She went so far as to ask the author of this review "where is your spirit of forgiveness?" After all of this there was still on proposal of how to fix the problem. The author of this review attempted to meet a compromise by just accepting the charge for what was eaten and receiving a refund for the food that was returned. That request was denied and with noticeable disdain, and a 15 to 20 min heated confrontation, our original request was granted. Truthfully after all that fuss I didnt eat the food for fear tat there might have been some shug avery pee in it. In my opinion, it is a shame that when people of color attempt to support each other we are perpetually treated with such horrible service that we are forced to put out money in other places other than our own community.

The main thing that caught my eye was they made a sign saying we couldnt take a picture of the buffet. Why? The answer to that question is because the food was dehydrated sitting under the heat lamps. To think I love black owned businesses, but the food has got to be better than what I have experienced! I went in around 4 p.m. I ordered the tilapia and rice with Mac and cheese, greens, and okra! I was really disappointed with my meal! I didnt even finish it. My food was cold and my fish was dry as if it was sitting on the hot water line for way too long. When asked for fresh fish they said that thats all they had and the cook was gone.....if this is suppose to be fresh food why have it sitting under heat lamps all day. All the line servers did was pulled the food that was covered from the kitchen. You close at seven, but your food isnt fresh because you have no one there making it. Instead it sits and looses its quality, hmmm...if I was a health inspector, last time I checked food is suppose to be at a certain temperature. Not worth the $14.65 that I paid for. I dont recommend eating there, unless you like dried out fish, cornbread and cold food. Wont be returning!

I called 3 times to speak with someone regarding catering for my wedding. I called to speak to Mrs. Carter which is who I am supposed to speak with regarding catering. Before she comes to the line, finally, I hear her grunt and say I keep telling this people to come in and look at what we have. After I heard that I hung up. Customer service is everything. Normally when you call places for catering services they are able to give you a quote go over what they provide and really try to sell you on going with them for catering that did not happen and I am really disappointed. I wanted to give you guys my business but due to that I will not and I have never even been here before. I have heard mixed reviews good and bad on the food and still wanted to give it a try. I really wanted soul food for my wedding and we were willing to pay whatever cost but I will not pay for rude customer service. I planned a nice wedding and I wanted good food with great customer service but after that I will never come here nor will I use their services. I will find another restaurant. If you dont want my money someone else will.

I didnt know there was a $.50 charge for carryout which is nothing, and I completely understand. To my surprise when I mentioned it to the cashier her response was " Its on the menu", and she said it very rudely. The food was not worth my $22 that I paid on this past Sunday, I actually tried to eat because I spent so much. I just couldnt, so I threw it in the trash on yesterday. My coins come to hard earned to waste money, and especially on food that isnt good. I ordered a slice of butter cake, now that was delicious!!! Very over priced though, it was $3.99. My meal was oxtails, greens, mac and cheese, black eyed peas and cornbread. The oxtails had a mixture of some undercooked and some cooked just right, no bueno. The mac and cheeses tasted like cheap powder, try velvetta it melts better. The greens were sweet, no bueno. The black eyed peas were seasoned really good, but they should have cooked another 45mins- 1 hr though. The hot water cornbread was good. I should have known something was up when I saw multiple signs about no refunds!!! You dont have to worry about this chick again.

I wish there was an option for NO stars! We visited this establishment on 1/8/17 after several people recommended it. While waiting on our takeout orders to be prepared we noticed a small female child (under 10 years old) in the kitchen packing muffins in the plastic bags without gloves on. We have formed one of the other workers that she was handling the food without gloves. The worker then made her put on gloves and continue to pack the muffins. At this time our food was ready. I requested hot water cornbread after seeing this child mishandle the muffins. The childs mother (Co owner as she stated) came out kitchen very rude and confrontational saying her child had gloves on the entire time. I told her this was not true & I was not trying to cause a screen. I just wanted cornbread instead of muffins. She continued to be disrespectful. The owner then came out & I requested a refund. The owner then stated they have a no refund policy. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. The food was Bland and very over rated. Im sure there were child labor laws violated as well.

Take your money elsewhere!!! STAFF has AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. My first experience was bad--they false advertised their FISH, as catfish when it clearly was not catfish. So, I tried them again today (BAD DECISION) of course they dissapointed me again. The food (Oxtails) were tough, did not fall off the bone like what Im use to. Full of red grease and portions are SUPER small. The enchiladas had no cheese just meat. The so called "HOT water bread" was COLD. Oh and on top of all that the front register lady and the older lady are SUPER RUDE. At least at Sweet Georgia Brown their food portions are HUGE and their staff is VERY friendly w/AMAZING customer service skills. Obviously Im not the only dissatisfied customer, just look at their 1-star reviews that speaks for themselves.
