DEARBORN LOCATION REVIEW! So its Wednesday 9/16/15 and officially Day 2 from what the staff told me at the new Los Galanes location in Dearborn. I am VERY pleased! Being of 100% Mexican descent, I can whole heartedly state that eating here is like walking into a Mexican Familys kitchen. I had Chicken tacos, Beef tacos, and a side of rice. Everything was phenomenal. At first I was surprised that the tacos were a bit more expensive than what Im used to paying, but these arent traditional mini Taqueria tacos, they are full sized Corn Tortilla tacos and they are worth the price! As for the rice, I just called my mom and told her its like I brought home a bowl of rice that shed just cooked. She was not happy - but Im THRILLED! =) No more begging mom for rice! I can zip over to Los Galanes - Dearborn any time I want! Best of luck to the team working at this location. They are still figuring out their groove, and the registers right now - but they are super friendly and Im beyond THRILLED to finally have authentic Mexican food in my home town. They can definitely count on me becoming a regular patron.

Never been to this restaurant. Been to Xochs, El Zocalo, Mexican Village1000s times during 30 years. Sat down Friday night about 10pm with three other high school old friend. Place was not busy. Started out with one extra small bowl of chips and one salsa. This was gone in a few minutes. Waited about 10 minutes before we could get another bowl, but had to ask for two!!!. This doesnt even happen at Mexican restaurants in Oakland county where I now live. Put an order in and ask if they had any hotter salsa. The waitress said, oh yes, we have some habanaro sauce. While waiting we ask for more chips. Total of 5 small bowls. One basket is hold bout 2.5 of these bowls. Well, got the food and the food was excellent. All four of us agreed, that the food was very good. Got the bill and they charged us $1.25 for about one ounce of the habanaro sauce. REALLY? Again other Mexican restuarants NEVER charge for hotter salsa. Too much competition down there to go back here again. One and done.

Just went from 4 stars to 1. Their parking lot "attendant" refused to allow our legally placarded handicapped car to park in an unused handicap parking spot. This is unacceptable. While our party of 3 waited 27 minutes for one of the 11 empty tables within the view of the hoard of people waiting for a table, I watched the 5 servers and 1 busser work very hard, while the the 3 managers leaned on the counter. After 10 minutes (as soon as Brian could), our server came to our table. He and the busboy saved the day. His attitude was key. After I had to literally point at the manager to get his un-focused attention, he begrudgingly feigned attention. After that, I relied on my most excellent server Brian. If the owners of this restaurant wish to stay in business, fix this now. Following is my now old and irrelevant review. Huge portion of steak and cheese fajitas. Wish the bar didnt use a margarita mix, instead of making real cocktails. Good service!

My father and I decided to go to Los Galanes after the Carribean festival downtown this past weekend. When we arrived and were seated I suggested we get the shrimp fajitas for two. When we received our food we noticed it wasnt sizzling like it normally does. But the fact that it wasnt didnt register until I saw someone else who had gotten the fajitas. When we left Los Galanes literally 15 minutes later our stomachs were very upset and my father and I were sick the rest of the night. I woke up in uncomfortable pain in the middle of the night. I do not know if they have changed management or chefs but the food is a lot different than I remember from the first time I ate their. I will not be coming back after this experience which is unfortunate because I love authentic mexican cuisine.

I love food and this place serrves up the best Mexican in Detroit. It is less crowded than some of the other places which is when it is a busy weekend in Detroit. I have never had bad food or service here. I feel rushed at other places but not here. I love the fact that they have a patio for when it is warm out. The food is what true Mexican food should taste like. I decided to try the goat tacos here and they are awesome. I get them everytime I go now. Try Los Galanes. You will love it.

We were there with a large party (20 people) and there was only one server helping us. She did a great job it just took forever. We ended up being there for 2.5 hours, which is a LONG time for dinner. The guacamole was bland. I had the fish tacos, which was just fish in a corn tortilla and badly seasoned at that. Everything tasted heavy, nothing tasted crisp or fresh. The margaritas were good. I wouldnt go there again even if someone paid for my food.

first warning sign- no customers speaking Spanish. The food was bland and unremarkable. The service was okay for me, but the server kinda ignored my date, dont know if it was because she was white or a female or something else. Its an ok place but theres better places to go in the area. If the restaurant didnt look so nice from the outside, theyd probably be out of business by now. And by the way, they dont have dancing any more.

I ate here regularly for years and so has my mom, I love the server Jorge hes great and a friend. But just went there tonight and sat inside and when the host sat us down we waited a good 15-20 minutes and nobody had acknowledged us or even gave us water, I can understand this on a busy night but there were 4 other tables, totally not acceptable so I got up and walked out. Wont be returning after this horrible service.

The very best micheladas in Detroit, among the best anywhere. Oysters are fresh and not over priced. The seafood salad and cocktails are incredibly good, and the other Mexican food is great as well. I just happen to like the mariscos best, and this place does Mexican seafood very, very well indeed. Five stars are not enough!

Efficient, quick, authentic, and comforting. Excellent Mexican place right off the freeway. I had the al pastor (spicy pork) tacos and they were so good. The chips and salsa are small, but at the end of the day its all about the main dish. 5 stars for the friendly service. Wait staff and greeters are very polite.

Always great food but as some have mentioned...a little slow on service. But for us...thats ok because thats why we go out Saturday night and enjoy some drinks and conversation. In fact, we just ask them to surprise us with something different that is not on the menu and it is always excellent! Best in town!!!

Good food, atmosphere, but stingy with salsa. There were 4 of us, each ordered lunch. I asked for 1 salsa for each of us. Waiter said there would be an extra charge. I said if 4 people came in separately they would each get a salsa. He said I could sit separately if I wanted. $40 bill 8-4-17 around12 Noon.
