This place is a bug/rude employee infested, in-authentic, sorry excuse of a taco eatery. Yes, I said bugs, after I started eating I noticed there are cockroaches on the counter where you order food, disgusting! I was also turned off by the fact that it has a papier-mâché figurine of a Latino looking man, however, the establishment is not authentic Latino, and has no ties to the community, so that was deceiving in my opinion. The man taking the order was so rude--not just to me but to the other customers as well, they would say things like "Ive waited a while for my order" and he would get snippy with them and criticize them saying "dont you have patience?". In the end they payed for a meal and should be able to say something, I used to work at a sandwich shop and what I learned is just say sorry! It makes a world of difference! When it came to ordering they were pretty much out of everything which was really disappointing, and from what Ive read on here is actually expected! If the owner is reading this, no substations? Really? I cant think of a better excuse for you to be lazy/onerous. if I want cheese instead of queso, why cant I choose that? I shouldnt have to pay more, in the end its both cheese! Also the fact that it says it comes with chips and salsa and has a list of all the salsas that you can order and I asked for corn salsa the man said "no substitutions" um, then what the hell is the point of having a whole menu of salsas? The menu says "Meals come with chips and salsa" not chips and Pico de gallo. The food tasted okay, but in the end I payed $7 for a burrito that was 90% rice 5% pork and 5% cilantro. I plan on calling LARA tomorrow and reporting a bug infestation, I will certainly not be returning.

Never made it to the old location but interesting new venue. Like the decor and seating and the idea of a quick counter service taco option with nice outdoor seating. My tacos were alright although the tortillas and chips were disappointing (both hard and crunchy, not a lot of flavor). My date ordered a quesadilla and was told she got to pick a meat and vegetable; asked for the vegetable on the side and instead got charged extra for a side of the wrong thing and it showed up cold. Cool concept but mexicantown has better options for significantly cheaper.

Alley taco is a place that is overhyped. On several occasions I have came to the establishment to find the same order taste differently(not always good). On some occasions they seem to change the hours sporadically, and the service is very dry. The reason to come to alley taco is the environment it lies in, which is filled with the cultural feeling of a Detroit local. The one thing I recommend is the salsas which are above average, and hopefully this review reaches them to let them know the last barbacoa batch was with too much sodium.

Good food, good people. Hard to beat the 5 for $5 tacos. There is five different variants, try them all!!! (they will even let you split your order btw diff types) These are authentic style tacos, so if youre expecting taco-bell, you will be disappointed. We hit this joint at least once or twice a week. btw, try not to read to much into some of the "critics" and SJWs like "Susan" who think that everyone, everywhere they go is rude to them (yeah, I read all her critiques & have come to the conclusion that maybe its you honey)

The food is great, and very reasonably priced. My only criticism is the lack of polite and friendly customer service from one of Alley Tacos employees. A young man, with blond hair in a ponytail and on the shorter side is noticeably and unnecessarily rude. No manners: he never once said "thank you," "your welcome," etc when interacting with him on the phone or in person. Food service and customer service are directly related. Perhaps Alley Taco management should give this surly young man politeness training.

Holy Smokes, lived in Chicago for twenty years and thought I knew what great tacos tasted like, these guys take tacos to another level, oh my goodness, this place is a taco lovers dream. Five tacos for five bucks, and fish tacos too, but the nachos with beans didnt even make it home. Ill be visiting them in my travels, even if its out of the way. Great hot sauce too, and the vegetable topping are unique and delicious, try this place, you wont be disappointed.

The food is great, but the service is terrible. Avoid this place if you are in a hurry or expect any basic level of customer service. Multiple occasions of 40 minute waits or longer, which is fine if they didnt say it would take 10 minutes when you ordered or if they looked like they were even trying to keep up.. Had one of the cooks taking personal calls on their cell phone while there was a massive line.... So yeah, I think I am done with this place..

This place is horrible. I paid $10 for 3 tacos that werent worth my money. The shrimp taco only gives you ONE shrimp so beware. The fried chicken taco was the only one that I liked. They were out of the curry cauliflower so I settled for the potato taco which was soggy and disgusting! Then it took way longer for me to get my food (3 people who ordered after me got heir food ahead of me). Never going back.

$8 for a burrito with pretty much zero meat in it. The little smoke pork I got was literally dry as paper (see picture). Four people in line BEHIND me got their orders first. Super slow, the employees dont care about you at all. Worst of the whole experience, the disgusting salsa dispenser!! Man, this place has really driven itself into the ground. Absolutely do not waste your life or money.

When its done right its REALLY good, but I probably have been here about once a week since I moved here 8 months ago and theres almost always something wrong with it that I dont notice until Im all the way home. Too many times the rice has been hardly cooked and crunchy, or something is just always off with my order. BUT like I said, when its done right, its fantastic.

LOVE IT. First time at Alley Taco since being in Michigan and their tacos are wonderful! Not only that, their service was great. They made such a great impression on me and were such nice and cool people working there. I love that place officially! If you ever want delicious tacos in the metro area. Alley Taco is the place to go! 5 stars all around all day everyday :D#

I had a craving for tacos and was presently surprised by the different options they had available! The flavor was great. The only downfall is there wasnt a sign outside for first time customers. Employees were kind enough to direct me inside towards the back of the market. If your feeling adventurous try the BBQ Sweet potato taco!
