This was my first visit to the Waldorf location. Upon entering and having not one, but two employees standing behind the hostess stand, one would expect to be acknowledged in some way, shape, form or fashion. I was eager to enjoy a quick bite based on the aroma that welcomed me, but waited for some sort of communicative interaction from the two. Not a "Hi/Hello/Welcome to Kobes, well be right with you/One moment"/A head nod.... NOTHING! They both made eye contact with me (for three solid seconds), said nothing and continued their conversation. I proceeded to walk over to the bar, assuming that maybe they were in the middle of handling a situation and that someone would "follow" behind and at least provide a menu. Not a single acknowledgement was given at the bar. I decided to leave after two minutes. Issues arise for all service industry employees at any given moment, but to blatantly disregard guests upon their arrival?! (Waldorf) Kobe, youre downright disrespectful.

Yea, I definitely could give this place five stars based on the food alone but the service was meh. I read one review where they said the waitress did everything...they were right. Went I visited she was the hostess, cashier, bartender, and server. Ridiculous. Especially when the place started getting busier. I sat at the bar and although she was somewhat friendly, she looked very taxed and stressed. She needs help. Fast. Anyway, the sushi was delicious. I ordered the Tuna Martini, Avocado Salad, Super Kobe and Out of Control Roll. Everything was superb, but surprisingly the appetizer, Tuna Martini, stole the show. It was great; absolutely delicious. I also had a Mai Tai and the alcohol was up front and center stage. Loved it. Would definitely return.

Sat down and took 10 mins before we could order. Ordered hot tea, edamame, 4 orders sashimi and 3 sushi rolls. 15 mins after was able to get hot tea. They actually got the mixture of the green tea some what right. 10 mins after was able to get the sashimi and it was a meh. When though it was athletically pleasing it felt as if they thawed and froze the first multiple time before they served it. 15 mins after got our 3 sushi rolls. Again it was aesthetically pleasing but only one of the rolls was decent. Took us 8 mins to eat and ask for the check right after. Took 10 mins to get back to us with the check. All in all it was a meh. Food is OK but service is horrible. If you have a lot of patience this is the place for you.

Terrible experience. I cant speak on the food because I didnt get served. Waited at the BAR AREA which is open seating for 15 minutes and didnt even get looked at. After waiving down a server and asking for service at the bar, he states " its first come first serve, so well get to you after these people." At the bar though?! And were we ever gonna get told this?? These reviews are obviously embellished thats all I gotta say.

Great food and polite service. The place is clean and spacious. I definitely plan on making this a hang out spot for my friends and I since its in walking distance and probably the only decent restaurant for a few miles. The food was spot on and made quick but not too quick. I enjoyed the atmosphere though more music and less TV would be nice. Maybe thats your thing. Either way, I want this place to stick around.

The sushi is great. The rolls are big, fresh and filling. Mixed drinks are $5 all the time. My boy had the filet mignon hibachi. Idk what kind of meat it was but it was extremely gamey tasting. Filet mignon is a tender meat but usually lacking in flavor. This "filet mignon" did not taste like beef at all. Overall, sushi items and salads are fantastic.

Never had a bad visit. I always get a volcano roll. Sushi has always been on point for me. I also get the kobe shrimp, pretty good if eaten as soon as you get it. The onion soup is flavorful. Used to come here with one of my best friends for sushi meet ups every week haha. They were avid customers before they moved.

Took almost twenty minutes before we were asked for our drink order or even waters. Everyone got their appetizers 15 minutes apart. Sushi was ok. Two people to work the floor, front desk, bar and possibly the kitchen it seemed on a Friday night. Dont know how it can survive like that

Very nice local hidden gem. Their fish is always fresh and good quality, Their sushi rolls have a nice variety with out being to untraditional . Although the restaurant is small it accommodate their guests very well . My kids love going here they are family friend

My boyfriend and I love eating at Kobe. Its really convenient to get to and we never have to wait. The service is always fantastic and the food is great! I dont eat sushi so I always order hibachi, so good! My boyfriend loves sushi and he really enjoys eating here!

Kobe Bar & Grill is a small but quaint restaurant with the most delectable dishes. It has become one of our favorite place to go for Japanese cuisine. Everything on the menu is very affordable. The menu offers veggie Suchi rolls, A must try.

wont be going there again. sushi was meh. service was meh. our plates werent cleared from our table and we weret asked about refills or if our food was okay. hibachi chicken was way too salty and soggy.

Stopped in with kiddo and wife. Excellent meal, fast service, and the portions are good for the price. Kids plater was huge, and my daughter enjoyed that she was given a "big person plate". Great meal.
