This place is almost hidden in Klarides Village shopping plaza (the small center just up 63 from Highway 8). Its been open about a month. When we went in on Friday night, about 6:30, they were empty. This made me very nervous. The place looks nice inside and the staff was friendly. However, within an hour they were pretty busy! We had a sashimi sampler and everything was first-rate. I know sushi and sashimi and I was mildly surprised. The dark, miso-like soup was very good. I had shrimp tempura and SO had chicken pad thai. Everything but the large amount of bland salad dressing piled on the house salad (where soup or salad comes with any entree), was very good. We will definitely go back. It is reasonably priced, as well. Their wine selection is fairly poor yet they seem to concentrate on cold and hot saki... Im going to be a little more adventurous next time and see what they do with beef. I recommend you try this place and support a decent restaurant in Seymour! Update: We have been here a half-dozen times now. While they sometimes have inauthentic offerings, the food is always good.

I went to Karaku for the first time last night and was so pleased with the whole experience. The food was AMAZING. Their sushi is really good and good prices too. Ive been to a lot of sushi places in the surrounding towns but this surpassed the others. Great, friendly service, wonderful environment, definitely plan on going again.
I eat sushi all the time- this place is a hidden gem in Seymour. Who wouldve thought it??! I ordered the power roll with mango and coconut shrimp tempura. Then I asked for a roll with asparagus and avocado... And the sushi chef immediately knew to make me a spring roll. Fresh tasting and pretty presentation. Will come back.
Food was delicious. I got a specialty roll and rice. We ordered the edumame and a hibachi dish. No complaints. Service was good. Pricey but decent. A side of froze rice was 3.50 but a huge portion. Enjoy!

Ate here just last night -- excellent. Sashimi was clean and fresh -- outstanding. Very reasonably priced as well. This is a hidden gem in a strip center where you would never expect it.
Excellent food and service. Hidden gem in Seymour is absolutely right!! We are always welcomed by a friendly smile and hello, seated right away and served immediately. Food is amazing!!
Weve been getting sushi takeout here since they opened. Always fresh and tasty. Leslie is a terrific, customer-friendly presence. Highly recommended if you live in the area.
Good food, but on the whole I think somewhat overpriced for what you get. Would explain why its always pretty much empty when we go.
If I had one hour to live I would spend it in there because it fees like a eternity to get food. Quality was cancer
We love this restaurant. Super friendly staff, great sushi. The entrees are delicious. We are regulars here.
What a gem! It was very unexpected in sleepy Seymour. One of my favorite places to get sushi.
Its an OK place with a nice atmosphere. Best Sushi in Seymour.
