Very good food, nice atmosphere, excellent service, a tad pricey - but I would say you get what you pay for. Based on price, I wouldnt routinely be eating here (say, if we lived in the area) but we were in DC on vacation - I watch the money less seriously when on vacation (once a year) - we enjoy ourselves. I had the pan seared trout amandine - nicely browned, came right offf the skin, no bones - I havent had trout this good since we were in Boy Scouts, caught it ourselves in the lake, cleaned it, and pan-fried it in butter - that memory is why I ordered this trout and this trout lived up to that memory. My 20 year-old son said that the blackberry pork chop was excellent. My 17 year-old son had the pepper steak and reported the same. I believe my wife had the chicken parmigiana and she liked it. We routinely order calamari as an appetizer, as we did here, and this one was perfectly cooked (i.e., not rubbery nor under-cooked). Desserts were great. The service was perfect - I dont know if she could see our table from some distance/place where I couldnt see her or if she really was that intuitive - obviously an intelligent young woman whos picked up on everything related to her job and did it efficiently and with a smile. Note to management - lose the stuffy, sniffy, condescending maitre d/headwaiter at the meet n greet station inside the door...

The nice location on a busy corner south of Dupont Circle, and the reasonably priced every-day (including weekends) happy hour is offset by sluggish and uninterested bar service. We ate/drank at the bar here twice recently, and each time, bar service seemed slow, confused, and disorganized, even when there was plenty of staff and bar-backs. Staff seemed disinterested in checking in on customers, avoided eye contact and were busy chatting with wait staff or watching basketball. It doesnt take very long to make a quick round of the customers (or even just to look at customers). The area is chock full of other options and of lots of experienced bar and wait-staff, so not sure why management tolerates such sloppy service. This isnt Applebees... Mixed drinks were average but acceptable, short glasses. Happy hour food was a bit bland and uninspired, but acceptable for pub grub. Nothing youd go out of your way for, and certainly not worth the full-price. TVs showing sports are a bit too prominently front-and-center here, also. If youre there for happy hour, grab one of the tables with a window view of people headed to the nearby clubs, but dont expect to be wowed by this location.

It was me and my all my girlfriends first time in the Dupont Circle area of DC. We really wanted a good place to eat with reasonable prices, so we went to Daily Grill on a whim. Im so glad we did! We went during their happy hour and I must admit, it was one of the best happy hours Ive ever been to! They had fantastic martinis for only $6 and their apps were no more than $5. All together, for a party of 8, our bill came to $125! And we each had at least 3 cocktails each plus an array of apps. Our server, I want to say her name was Amy (she had long red hair) was amazing! Very attentive and courteous. She even treated me to a complimentary dessert for my birthday. Going to Daily Grill was one of the highlights of my trip to DC. I highly recommend you go here, you wont be disappointed. One of my friends arrived late with her husband, when I recommended Daily Grill to her and she tried it, she loved it as well! Great job Daily Grill, keep up the fantastic work!

Came for quick lunch, which was anything but quick. Needed gluten free and also, was on other dietary restrictions. Order Seared Ahi Sashimi. What I got was crusted with sesame seeds - not good for my upcoming medical procedure. They took it back and brought me some seared ahi sashimi. Served with Kikkoman soy sauce. I pointed out that standard Kikkoman is not gluten free and they were dumbfounded. The seared ahi sashimi is billed as gluten free on their menu. yet they serve it with a sauce full of gluten. They seriously did not understand when I pointed this out to the staff. The meal was served after 40 minutes of waiting, so they prepared a to-go bag for me because I had to run. I thought it was very nice of them to put several packets of Kikkoman in the bag which says on its label that it has wheat in it. Nice job with the gluten free menu, Daily Grill.

Nothing to brag about, after having brunched here after Easter Mass for years. On our entrance, the host advises that they had no reservation (though I made with a female appr. 2 wks earlier, requesting that we sit at or near our "301" seating area).. He was kind and professional and saw that we were seated immediately next to a window. The waitress was most pleasant, but the service was slow, waiting several minutes for our drink and Monkey Bread (our entire seating area was vacant, so it appeared the issue was not one of crowdedness). We requested a clean coffee cup as the one provided was dirty. Then our main egg dishes again took a long time to be served. Though disappointed, we will give it another shot in the future, but it is no more a restaurant that we will urge others to use, particularly in light of the myriad of eating venues in the area.

Fabulous atmosphere, impeccable service, delicious food... this is without a doubt my favorite restaurant in DC. The Daily Grill in 18th street is a fantastic place for dinner with friends, parents, dates, even solo! No matter where you end up being seated, youll be comfortable. Once we had Kiley serving us on the bar. I ordered this delicious cocktail called Strawberry Sunset. She took care of us so well that we didnt want to ever leave. Then once me and my friends were seated in a boot and we had Raju serving us. Service was again great. Everything came on time, we had always waters refilled and anything we ordered was super delicious. Mainly steaks, salmons and crab cakes. Anytime I visited the manager Bruce stopped by and checked on us if everything was fine. You can really tell that they care about theirs customers. I love this place.

We had dinner two weeks ago and the food was good The really big issue was the server and the things that happened. Since the service was not good (plates & glasses were "thrown" on the table, no smiling, nothing), we did not reward it with a huge tip but a normal one. We signed and put it on the room bill because we stayed in the hotel next to the Daily Grill. When we checked out, we found out that someone in the restaurant (server or co-server) had falsified our check from that dinner in the Daily Grill. After the manager showed us the check from that dinner, we saw that someone falsified the check!! BE AWARE OF THAT AND CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD BILLS! I call it fraud! Besides that the manager was shocked and could hardly believe that fact. He was very cooperative and offered us compensation.
