Short and sweet review: This place had live music, is one of the only places open late on that side of 29, and looked like a lot of fun. Went here with a couple friends for a drink and some good food. We got none of that. The server greeted us in less than 5 minutes which was fine. The blue moons were warm the other drinks tasted watered down. Switched to just a Coke which was fine. The crab pretzel was delicious so we were back on track after the nasty drinks. By now the drinks were empty...No refills. The crab plate was done with...Still sitting here. A food runner brings a salad for one of us. No soup for the other one. After the salad was gone I flagged down the server and asked for the soup. Finally, another food runner brought it. 2 of us ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich and 1 ordered the Cajun Chicken Sandwhich. The server said that they were her favorites. A couple things: the cup of ranch we ordered was bigger than the "side of rice". The broccoli or the "Vegatable du Jour" as they called it was actually the vegetable of last week...It was cold, brown, and looked gross! The fries were good! The sandwiches tasted like nothing.. no flavor. Chicken was rubbery and tasted boiled. Server came over and asked how the food came out and I said The broccoli is cold and so is the rice. She said "okay" and then walked away. We ended up sending the food back because it was so gross. She didnt apologize, say sorry, defend the restaurant, bring the manager over, NOTHING.. .They do not care at all!!!! She asked one of us if we needed a box and I said " no it was gross" and she just took it away and didnt say a word. We never got refills..... We never had a manager come over to see if they could resolve it or offer us something else. It was horrible!!!! Only one other time have I ever had to send back food and the manager and server were both so embarrassed they apologized up and down. I still tipped the server $15 on a $30 meal because it wasnt her fault and she genuinely cared that we had bad chicken. Corrine from Bare Bones didnt even so much as say she was sorry the food was cold, beer was warm, and the chicken was rubbery. I WILL NEVER come back there and I always give places 2nd and third chances.. If she had apologized and tried to make it right, Id never be writing this review. We paid for the gross food even though we shouldnt have!!!!!!!! McDonalds serves better chicken sandwiches and at least offers refills. Good luck Bare Bones, with staff like that...youll need it.

We had a reservation for 13 people, so it wasnt a surprise that a large group was coming in, however, we were not provided with a server for our group. Rather, our server was working in the bar and running over to us from time to time. She was pleasant and relatively good, but not proficient to the extent one would expect in a restaurant environment. At least one order was incorrect, one was overlooked and an item not ordered was delivered. When the food came out, runners brought out the plates and just called out who gets the ..... There was no order or organization to the food service. The plates were just handed across/up or down the table (by us) to those on the bench seat, and they were not properly served to those on the outside seats. My entree (pasta) was lukewarm at its center and chilled on top and around the outside edges. It was not particularly flavorful or well-spiced - - the cream sauce provided the flavor (more like texture). On the plus side, I have to say it was a huge portion. My silverware was not clean, even had bits of food stuck to it. As I reached for a menu in the table rack, my hand brushed against the ketchup bottle and I got old, half-dried, nasty ketchup all over my hand. The bottle had not been cleaned in a long time. It had ketchup all around the top. I would never have used it. As I walked past a server station on the way to the ladies room, I noticed that there was some kind of sauce splattered all over the side of the station and the wall that had obviously been there for some time (much like the ketchup on the table). It was dirty and nasty. I have been to Bare Bones on 2 other occasions, neither of which impressed me - - they were much like this one. If it wasnt for the family choosing the place to celebrate our Christmas, I would not patronize the restaurant. In my opinion, it is over-rated, over-priced, and not the cleanest place to eat.

I visited Bare Bones with my sister and best friend, and we were having a fine time until restaurant staff got rude. It was a Friday night and the posted hours state that the restaurant closes at 1:30. The band left a little before midnight, and pretty soon we were the only table at the bar. Our server cashed us out, but no one approached and asked if we wanted anything else. We could have easily started a new tab with the bartender, but instead a guy came over and asked if he could take our plates. At about 12:30, some extremely rude and passive aggressive employee yells (from out of sight, btw) "WE ARE OFFICIALLY CLOSED!". We looked at the menu and saw 1:30 as the closing time. Then the employees began to turn off lights. I will never spend money in this establishment again, as this is extremely rude behavior and horrible customer service. I dont care what time it is. Hours are hours, and customers should not be essentially forced out of the building.

We were in the area for a wedding and decided to stay an extra day and just chill out. Looking for a place for dinner, I wanted someplace that wasnt off the chart expensive but had good food, especially crab cakes. After looking at some reviews of local places, we decided n Bare Bones. Unless you know its in a strip mall next to Advance Auto Parts, its easy to miss. But clearly the locals know all about it. The local beers were very good - The $8 sampling flight was a good taste of everything. The crab soup was excellent. Chunks of crab in a hearty base. Home made crab cakes were excellent. Just enough filler to keep the lump crab meat together while it a grilled to perfection. Ribs that were tender and fall off the bone wonderfulness. Highly recommend the corn fritters and other sides. Highly recommend this restaurant for its casual decor, great service and excellent food.

Traveling through MD to BWI and looked for a restauraunt within reasonable distance. This one is rated Best BBQ in MD. May...be... Should have stayed with craft beers...one of us ordered a Guinness which tasted quite watered down- missing that thick rich texture for which Guinness is known. Ribs did fall off the bone nicely, sauce was thick. Ribeye steaks (12oz) were thin and overcooked (ordered Med rare). Baked potatoes were barely warm, butter did not melt. Caesar salad with entree was plentiful. Fries crispy. Opted not to send anything back as we had a timeline to get to BWI. Service was friendly. Restaurant was clean, looked recently built (or renovated). Overall, it was filling food, convenient, clean. Not sure it is on my list of places to which I must return though.
