I live very close to Cucina and that whole strip, literally within 5000 feet. So, of course I walk over there on almost a every single day basis to satisfied my hunger needs. I also know what to expect out of a solid pizzeria because I work at one, and another restraunt. But thats besides the point. Pizza cucina makes OKAY pies, it totally depends what you get. For example, there penne Alla Vodka slice is to die for, but If you order a chicken ceaser slice its a mess of lettuce, a non generous serving of cutlets, and ranch thrown on a thin crust thats usually burnt! I see most of the slices, rolls, and other things like Panninis stay in the window ALL DAY LONG so unless your ordering something they do not have prepared in house already like a specific hero or pasta entree, your foods been sitting out all day. Some of the food there is very good and I can tell the place has great potential, they just need better service and a better system about going about changing out the food. where I work, even the slices that dont get sold are being thrown out/ given to us staff :) and fresh food is put in the window up to 4 times in a business day. Another thing besides being served cold, not fresh food. Any ways, let me go over my last experience at cucina recently just to give you the idea of what your working with. I live down the block, so I call in my slide and spinach pin wheel for pick up and leave my house. I left, got there and they didnt even have the order. I then ordered and proceeded to wait like 10 minutes before I even saw them put my food on the oven to heat it.... the chicken ceaser slice I waited 15 minutes for was burnt and soggy, and the pin wheel was CRISPED almost blackened. I know cucina is a great pizzeria with great Pizza in a great location, and Ive seen the service varie from year to year as they change out staff. They just need to have a good meeting a talk about a better technique, cause I was not happy after that experience waiting 20 minutes for cold not fresh food. There food=good. Prep and service=could be better.

I live down the block and have been going here since they opened. Great food, great service, everyone that works there is great. I went in and ordered a ziti slice but they were sold out so the owner was kind enough to make me a new one. They really take care of their customers here.

Disappointed eating in workers sweeping under my table...floors wet while at thw counter. Shows no respect towards customers. Food was ok brought home a pie and stuck to box nothing inside to keep box from collapsing asked for garlic power did not have any? Wont be back.

I eat here at least once a week this is one of the best pizza places in Nassau County the chicken rolls are off the hook and their garlic knots all the best everything else is fantastic too. All the employees that work there are great and the owner is a very nice man.

Lived in Merrick for over a year eating half rate pizza before discovering this place. Everything you want in a long island pizzaria...and theyre the only local one that delivers too.
