Great little Ethiopian place! They have 4 different kinds of combo platter (highly recommended so you can try everything) and there are different prices for if the combo platter is for 1 person or 2 people. I came here in a group of 7 and shared combo #4 with my boyfriend. Unfortunately, I dont remember what exactly came in combo #4, but I asked for the split pea dish to be swapped out for the tikle gomen (cabbage) because that is my absolute favorite Ethiopian dish, and the waitress was very accommodating. Speaking of which, the waitress looked like she was the only one working in the restaurant outside of the kitchen so I have to give her lots of praise because she was attentive and great! The combos are served in individual dishes instead of traditionally on injera. You can ask for more injera which I believe is complimentary/"bottomless." I cant quite decide if I prefer the food in individual dishes or directly on the injera. I guess there are pros and cons to either method, but what I do know is that everything tasted amazing and I loved each dish in the combo.

This is the worst Ethiopian restaurant i have ever been to, the service was by far the worst part. Last night we came to the restaurant and had to wait for almost an hour to even talk to a waiter/waitress. Then finally when we were able to order only 1 Abol kitfo it took them more than half an hour to get the food. even the people sitting next to us were complaining about the slow service. On top of that, the menu claims Abol kitfo has 2 types of cottage cheese, but the waitress said sorry we dont have any, and she only brought us a small amount of kitfo. Then they tried to charge us the full price for Abol Kitfo even though they didnt bring the cottage cheese. i asked them to lower the price because they didnt give us what they advertised and she refused. So after waiting for more than an hour and a half, with little food, terrible service, i got charged full price!!! looks like they dont care about customers. i will never ever come back here again!

This was my first time eating Ethiopian food and I loved it! We ordered two combination platters, one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian. I practically ate one whole platter myself. Be warned though, the restaurant doesnt initially give you silverware. Youre supposed to eat the food just with the bread, which I am used to. But Ethiopian sourdough bread does take some getting used to. Its texture is spongy and it tastes a bit sour. But the curries are banging... spicy, colorful, and flavor that bursts out in your mouth.

Great food. Calling by phone has not always been successful for me, but ordering online is easy. Atmosphere is okay for dining in is okay. Perhaps a member of two of the staff could appear aloof; however, Ive concluded over time, they are just shy. You will probably need to park in one of the public garages. There is not a parking lot and the metered parking on Colesville gets taken quickly. I especially like the collards and lentils.

We took a carry out order of Special Tibs, Doro Alecha and the Vegetarian Sampler, all was done well. The food was moderately priced, Ive certainly paid more for a meal! We have plenty of leftovers. They are NOT afraid to spice it up here, I was happy to see the Tibs came with TWO extra piles of berebere on the side (without even asking.) The kids thought both the red and yellow lentils were tied for the best. Have fun!

I ordered a delivery and it was on time. However the food is probably the worst Ethiopian food I HAVE EVR TESTED. The collard greens were frozen, the Kitfo was so salty we just threw it out. The lamd with awaze was something that one makes when they are learning to cook. the onions were raw, the sauce was watery, Just a mess. I will never set foot in Abol

Although the wait staff can be more attentive, they were kind and extremely accommodating once put on notice. The food was authentic, fresh, and affordable per DC standards. I sat outside, so the traffic noise was kinda loud, but it did quiet down at times. Overall, solid experience.

So fun. I loved the dining style with all the spreads coming on top of the teff bread. The spongy flat great was great with the stewed vegetables and colorful sides. The waitress tried to get me to try the raw beef dish but I wasnt feeling that adventurous. Maybe next time.

My friend took my there as it is her favorite. I can see why. She says it is truly authentic. I say it is truly delicious. Eat the food not with utensils , but with your hands using the rolled bread. Dont lick your fingers because traditionally eating is communal.

Its not the best Ethiopian food in Silver Spring. The staff was friendly, I suppose, but not the best service. Asked for water without ice three or four times, no luck; finally went up to the staff and asked, still no luck. No plans to go back anytime soon.

We regularly order and split a veggie sampler to go. (you can usually find parking around back near the back entrance). Especially enjoy the beets in that sampler, which I havent seen from other local Ethiopian restaurants samplers.

This was my first Ethiopian food experience and it was overall enjoyable. There are utensils if you want them but otherwise you just use your hands, They gave us plenty of injera to eat our food with which was great!

One of the fav Ethiopian places. Nice spot to share a meal with your date before heading over to the Fillmore. Try the juicy tibs!

Really delicious. Very accommodating to the white man, ie plates and spoons. Less traditional than most places.
