I ordered delivery $55.00 today 1/15/2016 and once again its wrong. I spoke with the owner and was treated like a tostada food bandit. I order here on a frequent basis they always get my order wrong always blaming me the customer where is there customer service skills it puts me to wonder. The owner was so angry and irate with me he obviously did not care to hear me he was convinced without hesitation I was wrong. He demanded all his food back well I told him they ate it that the only food missing was mine that I would gladly return it to him. All I wanted was my 2 tostada plain and my guacamole with no cheese on it or cream because of my allergies so simple. The driver came for the wrong food and swaps it for more food except for that nasty discusting tortilla soup that was thrown in the garbage because it was not ettible. Long story short I told the owner Im not looking for free food or a free handout I just spent $55.00 on a delivery order all Im asking for is my food everyone else ate. He then told me I can no longer have food from Tecatetlan also I can walk in or sit in and order that way. I was never so humiliated being a paying customer mind you $55.00 he needs to take a class on how to treat his customers this is probably the reason why he cant fill his restaurant up. One should never feel they can belittle a paying customer because the Consiquences can be severe many people are looking for places to eat your one of many I hope my experience serves to benifit someone out looking for a great place to eat and be treated this Tecatetlan is not the place for there bad food, there service and the respect well they give you none. I had no choice but to put one star meaning "HATED IT" but truly having experienced such horrible treatment today from the owner of Tecatetlan it takes a toll on how people think the can treat others. Dont eat here take your money elsewhere.

Ordered a pork dinner, food was great, service was horrible. The guy was courteous enough, but he kept forgetting to check up on us. He had 2 tables. I speak spanish so I was able to see that the bet of the day was much more serious and therefore a more important matter than us, the clientele. We asked for kids drinks and only one of my daughters received a drink. Asked for it again they forgot. My wife is a fan of their pico de gallo. We asked for more and they flat out told us they didnt have any. I laughed at the passing waiter and told him this is a restaurant. Im sure youll find some. He said yes of course theyre making more. 5 mins later new customers. They receive pico. Good. Ask the waiter for pico. Oh so sorry theyre still making it... they didnt refill our drinks but were all gathered at the bar discussing god knows what. I literally raised and waived my hand. No notice. I contemplated calling the store from my table asking for the manager and directing him to the cameras. Not my job though. I came to eat. Eat I did, for the last time.

I lucked out with this being the first meal that I had after I moving to Chicago. Its the best pico salsa Ive ever had. The cilantro is clearly fresh and the onion is strong. Bold flavor that has you feeling the heat after a while. The chips are thick and extra crunchy as well. I ordered the taco platter and it came out within just a few minutes of ordering it. I was asked if I wanted it with everything, and of course I did. That might have been much. The tacos are piled high on the small corn tortillas and not meant to be folded and held. At least, not a fully loaded version. The service was efficient and polite and the atmosphere was clean and well maintained. Its right around the corner from me, so now I have a new favorite.

While I have never had a less than delicious meal at Tecalitlan, their burritos are the very best! I usually stick to the steak, fully dressed, but have ventured into other meats and they are all scrumptious! Make sure you order it con queso (with cheese) on top...Yummo! The wait staff is obliging...keeping water glasses filled and bringing all the tortilla chips and salsa you can pack away. Unless I am totally famished, there is always a half of burrito left that I take home for lunch the following day. Do not microwave too long....unless you like hot lettuce!

They have half priced ptichers of margaritas on Mondays (and some other drink special Tues & Wed too) and the cheapest food ever... at least to me. I often have 2 steak quesadillas and a pitcher of margarita (with a friend of course *wink wink*) and Im nice and slurry when i leave. Also the free salsa is THE BOMB. Its really fresh and really good. We usually add it to whatever main course we order. I cant say Ive ever had bad service or bad food there. Thanks to my coworker for having her birthday dinner there or else I wouldnt even know about it.

I like that this place is huge, and we never have to wait for a table. The torta is amazing - so buttery and chewy and crunchy. One of the best Ive had. The horchata is good too and the free refills makes it extra worth it. You cant go wrong with the tacos. Theyre all good. The tortialla soup, though, was disappointing. The flavors are bland and the tortilla tasted burnt. No traces of tomatoes at all were in this bowl and the broth were, for some unknown reason, too thick and too brown.

The Margaritas were good. The guac came on a bed of lettuce which I generally hate, but it was still pretty darn good. Their Pastor has beef mixed into it for some reason, but had great flavor. They charge for a second plate of chips and salsa, and didnt bring us more chips when we got an order of guac, but we had enough so I guess it was fine. Decent tacos, guac, and margaritas. Is there really anything else you need in life?

Amazing. Wasnt sure about this place because of the lower reviews compared to the other ones in the area. Glad we went here though. Got a steak burrito suizo, it was HUGE, and probably the best burrito I can remember. Its true the margaritas are a bit expensive but definitely top quality, strong but tasted perfect. There werent many other people in there but the service was prompt, quick refill on water etc.

Good authentic sit down Mexican place. Full bar service as well. Everything from tacos to the chili rellenos are very good. Prices are a bit high and service is only ok. Been coming here for years and never had any bad food but thats hard to find with Mexican (although I have, Su Casa on Ontario). Red salsa and salsa verde are usually excellent. I always get a quart or two to go for the house.

If you come to have drinks maybe its the place to hangout, but food and service are the worse Ive been. Not to mention that prices are ridiculous. Not family oriented and one big turn off its that is so dark inside and if you are seated in the back I feel sorry for you its depressing. Never come back again! This place dont even deserve one start, ZERO ITS WHAT YOU GIVE.
