This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants and it is right around the corner from me, so I am lucky. The food is amazing, I have been there about 5-6 times and am going tonight for dinner too. Every time the food is excellent and the portions are good. They have an amazing wine selection and the prices are very good. They dont mark up the wine like most places do. When we go there we always see and talk to the owners in length. They are so friendly. We always ask them to pick a bottle of wine for us, and it is always so good and the price is around $30ish. The staff is wonderful and friendly too. I could go on and on about Idylwood and how much I love it. I tell everyone I meet about it. I would have never tried it or seen it if a friend hadnt told me about it. I also LOVE to eat and am pretty critical when it comes to restaurants................so please try it, you wont be disappointed!

Unbeatable superior service and some of the most flavourful foods youll ever taste! You would never think it when driving by because the restaurant is hidden, but once you eat there, itll become one of your favourite - if not your #1 place to dine! Appetizers: Try the Shrimp Ajo and Spinach Salad Dinner: Salmon, Filet and Scallop dishes are delicious! Dessert: If you are a fan of chocolate mousse cake, then youll die for this one! Is family-friendly + fine dining combined possible?! YES! Here, the owners love kids! They bring toys to the table, crayons and paper... They have sippy cups, plastic forks and spoons for toddlers - its fantastic.

I have eaten here many times, usually with my wife, family &/or close friends. Most recently, last week.The food is always excellent, the service great, and the management & staff are attentive without being overbearing. It is just a bit pricey, but not by greater Metro DC standards, and its well-worth it for special occasions. Its great to have such a high-quality restaurant in the neighborhood!

This was a small quiet atmosphere but very friendly and doting staff, very generous. Ordered filet mignon with bleu cheese, medium rare-- cooked perfectly. It was my friends birthday and we got a complimentary slice of delicious chocolate mousse cake and the attendants insisted we have a whole bottle of wine for the price of the two glasses we ordered. Would definitely go back!

When visiting the Northern Virginia area we love to take friends and family here. The owners create a friendly atmosphere and wonderful food. Take a break from chain restaurants to really experience the difference of a locally owned restaurant. So much more relaxing and fun-a great experience for singles, couples or families.

Ive eaten here three times -- twice for dinner and once for lunch. Each time the meal was very good and the service excellent. Had a terrific NY strip steak and rack of lamb for the dinners. Both perfectly prepared as I like, medium rare. Good wine list. Wonderful cozy atmosphere. Great place to take a date.

Always friendly owners will stop and chat (and may even refill a little of your wine at no charge). Bucket of toy figures to keep kids entertained. Food is almost always exceptional. Quiet at lunch but always a pleasant experience. In a nondescript hidden strip mall but an amazing neighborhood joint.

Year after year, the Idylwood Grill never fails to disappoint. The Italian meals are always taste fresh and the ingredients are quality. The service is consistently professional and friendly. While not for the frugally-minded, it is an excellent treat when the occasion arises.

The food was excellent and the service was the best weve experienced in a long time. It reminded us of being in Europe. The waiting staff were present but not intrusive. The five different plates at our table were all outstanding. Quite a find and definitely recommended to all.
