I hadnt been here in several years. Decent comfort food / bar food menu but execution and delivery was lacking. I ordered a dark and stormy and it came out almost all rum with a splash of ginger beer. I dont usually complain about stiff drinks but it was almost straight rum. My wife ordered the fish and chips which was a nice piece of lightly breaded haddock on top of a generous pile of fries except the fries were cold, not cool, cold! The fish was piping hot though. The kitchen sent out a fresh plate of fries right out of the fryer. The food overall was tasty and our server was Top Notch, she noticed my drink was far too dark and was very quick to deal with the cold fries of my wifes dinner. If not for her excellent service I would have rated two stars.

Don’t be fooled by the modest exterior / interior. Congress Bar & Grill is good food & good people. Nobody’s putting on any airs here. Plenty of options for folks (like me) who are vegetarians, and even a few vegan choices too! Super accommodating if there’s something on the menu you need modified. And yeah, a great bar too, if you’re just looking to grab a beer / wine / cocktail. After you’re done stuffing your belly with the delicious stuff they’re serving up, chill out with some live music at Blue! It’s only a block away.

The food is always delicious, whether its the standard favorites or the ever changing specials on the board in the same angular handwriting. The bartenders become old friends who know your drink and will give in to your olive obsession. The waitstaff is generally pleasant to talk to (and look at), and you never mind sitting at the bar if you need to wait for a table. Plus, I can walk there from my house and that doesnt hurt at all. Eat outside in the spring/summer for fantastic people watching!

Ive been going to Norms for years and am a regular at the location near the Baxter bldg. Lately the wait staff has been horrible, especially the guy with the argyle sleeve tatoo. Used to be so fun to go there but now its just a huge drag. Plus the food is definitely slipping. Never thought Id say this but after almost 12 years of frequenting one Norms or another, Im done. Thanks Norm, it was great while it lasted but your staff is horrible.

Fast, friendly service. Decent food, reasonably priced. My date and I had planned to go somewhere closer to monument square foot dinner, but had forgotten it was the first Friday of the month. The First Friday art walk makes that area very busy... We decided to walk west a few blocks away from the mob scene and were able to enjoy a nice leisurely meal without having to wait 2 hours for a table.

Very poorly run bar. Food is great. Bar horrible. Entire bar is mostly gay men yet have a very loud female behind bar that is not friendly. Would make 4 times the money if they did it right.
