Have been a regular at this restaurant which myself and family members love. The haddock main dish is one we always look forward to until today when it was quite a disappointment as it was modified. When we asked the waitress about it, she said it was bc it was the the summer version of the haddock entrée versus the winter one. I dont think this response is correct as last year at same time we celebrated a family members birthday there and it was the regular haddock and not what we got today. Royal Rover Grill house in Yarmouth let us down today, of all days: my husbands birthday!

I have been a customer of the Royal River Grill House for over 10 years and have never been disappointed until today. My Haddock was served cold, my guests hamburger bun was burnt to a crisp, another guests "hash" was in chunks, our water glasses smelled of mildew (moldy dish towel?). In the past your menu was more varied with interesting fish choices, substantial salads (even your cole slaw was tasteless), and tasty soups. Actually, there was nothing in todays visit that was satisfactory.

The Royal Mary was a fantastic version of the bloody mary and I highly recommend it with the Grey Goose vodka. The only disappointment was the benedict that I ordered. The eggs were overcooked. The yolk was not runny like it should have been which took away from the experience. My dining partners had the same experience; so there were four benedicts at the table with overcooked yolks. The only reason that I didnt give this place 5 stars.

Typically order the tuna sashimi which is a perfect size, nice light dish. Apparently there is a new chef who has changed the menu to a tuna roll. The roll was twice as thick as a typical sushi roll. The tuna was virtually raw and cut into pieces way too thick. Bring back the sashimi please! My companion ordered a wedge salad with shrimp and that has been altered in an odd way as well.

Each time weve come here, the staff go out of their way to accommodate our party which includes a very elderly person. The seating both inside and on the deck is comfortable, and the views are pleasant. Every meal has been excellent! The lobster mac n cheese is to die for! The hostess even took photos of our far-flung-infrequently-gathered family!

The food is amazing and the redecoration looks great. I am giving 2 stars as any attempt to call for a reservation or take out is met with sheer confusion and I have been hung up on by the staff many times. The staff appears bewildered when one attempts to pay with cash, and you often have to wait a while for them to be able to make change.

We have eaten at Royal River numerous times and enjoyed the experience every time. Very good food, service, and ambiance. And, highly important to us, it does not get noisy ... we can carry on a conversation with our table mates, and we are not driven to system shut-down because of a loud environment.

Calamari was the best Ive ever had. Lightly breaded and not greasy at all. The clam chowder and lobster soup very good as well. They were busy at lunch, but that being said I thought the service was a little slow. Food and beautiful atmosphere made up for it. This is a very pretty restaurant.

Great food, great service and a fantastic atmosphere! The prices are what I would expect from a place of this quality. Highly recommended for any occasion, lunch, brunch or dinner. The rotating menu is a huge bonus and something not to common for Maine. Even the bar is comfortable. I love it.

Celebrated New Years Eve here...wonderful service, atmosphere and our dinner was delicious! It was busy and we waited a bit, we were not in a hurry so no problem. The manager paid for our appetizers for the inconvience of the wait...a truly great evening! Would definitely recommend.

Weve been here several times and had something different each time. All of the food has been well made and tasty. The staff have always been friendly and quick. The interior of the restaurant is well appointed with large windows that look out onto the river.

Must be when you bring a child - they stick you in the OUTBACK. Food was not the highest quality weve had their. Pork loin was very dry & the sucatash very smokey. Everyone gets a do over. If same quality next time itll be the last time.

We live locally. Nice spot right on the water. Good wood fired food. Nice atmosphere, however I liked the old interior more than the updated one. Nice bar and bar area. After several meals we have always had good meals and service.

A great spot right on the water; very clean and well-lit with a friendly staff. Menu was wide and tasteful. I sat at the bar and atmosphere is very pleasant. A bit more upscale than just your average "fish house."
