DO NOT book your event here. My fiancee and I made a reservation one year in advance for our rehearsal dinner at the Dockside Grill for a Friday in 2015. Andrea Marr twice confirmed our reservation a year prior to the event, in July 2014. We wrote her again in September 2014 to double check our reservation, and she confirmed our reservation for a third time. Fast forward to November 28, 2014, and we get an email stating she made a mistake and failed to record in their book another partys reservation for our date, and that we were out of luck but could have a Thursday reservation instead. Her "mistake" sounds like a load of BS to me. A larger party, they stood to make more money from, probably called them four months after we did, and they gave us the shaft. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired in other ways too. No telephone call after their boneheaded "mistake," no "congratulations" on our engagement or "thank you" for choosing their restaurant, and Andrea never once referred to us by our names. We should have known that was not a good sign but thats why we were diligent and confirmed our reservation three times. They need to talk to Jerry Seinfeld because, while they know how to *take* the reservation, they dont know how to *hold* the reservation. "And thats really the most important part of the reservation." Buyer beware.

One of the worst experiences Ive ever had in a restaurant. My scallop dish consisted of 3 scallops (about medium size) and when the manager, Ryan came out to address, he didnt even introduce himself and the first thing he asked was have you ever eaten here before" and "this is the proper weight portion of the scallops just so you know for future reference". When we tried to discuss this with him he replied "youre really coming at me" and walked away. I tried to talk to him later and he ignored me. For $28 the food on my dish wouldnt satisfy an infant. In addition I ordered mashed potatoes and they gave me potato wedges with no explanation then later said they were out of mashed. This all took place after we sat without drinks or menus for nearly half an hour. I even told the manager that we were celebrating a big Birthday and he didnt even comment but was happy to charge us $11 for a 6", stale cake. The manager was extremely rude, arrogant and unwilling to serve the customers needs. I have encountered more accommodating and friendly managers at McDonalds. I would not recommend spending your time or money at this place as there are many other fine dining options where the customer is treated with respect and provided with courtesy and satisfaction

I have never been so embarrassed and outraged at a restaurant in all of my life! My boyfriend ordered for me a vodka & cranberry while I went to the rest room. When I returned, it had no vodka in it so I asked for another. The waiter replied that he could bring another but that it would be the same. I said OK & proceeded to order vodka on the rocks with lemon. He told me no & that he wasnt going to serve me due to my cousin having had a few drinks & then rudely asked me if I had been drinking. I was so taken aback that I looked at him & told him that I didnt want anything. He walked away & we got up and left. As if it wasnt bad enough, he followed me to the parking lot and confronted me to tell me that he had taken the drink off of our check & tried to coach me to come back. Im sorry but if this is how you run a business; Im surprised they have any at all.

Our party of six arrived at 8:15pm on Wednesday after attending a local charity event, only to be turned away. The hostess said she couldnt seat us, even though there were plenty of open tables (including a table of six right in front of us). However, she offered three times to take our photo saying we were dressed so nice. It was so rude! Dont worry we drove our Porsche to Portland and had a very lovely dinner at Central Provisions, where we happily left a hefty tip. There are plenty of great places in the Portland area, who also offer great service. Dont waste your time with Dockside!

A great place to eat, and easily the best view of any restaurant around. Try the salmon or seared tuna, you wont be sorry! Dockside hosted our wedding reception in July and everything was PERFECT! Danica was a pleasure to work with: professional, upbeat, accommodating and so much more. Our guests raved about the food (also try the scallop sliders) and of course the atmosphere. The wait-staff and bar tenders were top notch! We cant say enough good things about Dockside, so whether its a quick dinner out or a special event, make it Dockside!!

Great food, smaller menu but only expected of a high end restaurant. Great restaurant and personable service. Absolutely excellent for a nice meal out and perfect for a small sunday brunch. Top floor available for parties, which I have seen to be a great experience. A must try for a nice portland area restaurant that gives a great feel of Maine.

Nice place, well appointed and of course great view and location. Staff were friendly. Unfortunately I was unimpressed with the seafood chowder - tiny portion and filled with more potato than anything else. Seems like it might be a better place for a burger than seafood. Still, a nice experience overall.

Waited forever for a burger that finally arrived medium rare instead of well done. Manager was unapologetic and said they were busy. (Not that busy for peak season)Well I would hope so!!! Second bad experience, as the bartenders have zero personality. Food is sub par. Too bad such a beautiful spot.

My wife and I are always excited to come to the Dockside Grill. I brought my wife when we were engaged for a special Valentines dinner and return every year to keep up the tradition. A world class restaurant that has to be on your list, to be sure.

The Portland area has a severe lack of waterfront dinning but luckily there is the Dockside Grill. Find a spot on the deck or outside bar and enjoy the sea breeze and the always active waterfront at Handy Boat.

We spent an hour waiting for our food. Service was ok but also waited about 15 minutes just for drinks. Disappointed to spend $28 for a medium sized piece of salmon and plain vegetables.

I had the egg Benedict crab cakes with a bloody Mary to wash them down! Yum... first of all the view! More like eating in a postcard. What an amazing location and restaurant! Go there!

VERY poor service. Ran out of lobster meat by Sunday afternoon....how does that happen when you are in the heart of casco Bay....poor management.

Really good food but the wait staff was slow, we were in no rush but also felt unattended to. Awesome views of the water!

Wonderful food, both for me as seafood-buff and my girlfriend as vegetarian. Sensible prices - much recommended

Very tasty, especially for seafood (obviously). Nice view of Casco Bay. Classy vibe without being stuffy.
