Stopped in to check it out and had a great conversation with Frank. He suggested the beer batter fried cod sandwich. Talk about fresh! Wow!!! It was no ordinary fish sandwich, thats for sure. The flavors and texture were top shelf! Smithtown is a take out place unless you want to eat at the attached West 6th Brewing Company (plenty of seating). Dont let that drive you away from Smithtown though. A Smithtown meal with a West 6th craft beer is a winning combo!

The jack crab is quite good, Ive been told the hushpuppies are vegan, but I was not confident so I looked further into it and they have egg powder (if I remember correctly) in them. Friends have been there since and also been told the hush puppies are vegan. It would be nice if they had a full vegan meal since they sell the jack crab, but the jack crab is super good. Also every employee is crazy nice.

We eat here about twice a month and its awesome. Their specials are excellent. Their New England clam chowder is the best Ive had ever. Most clam chowder has that bit of grit in it but theirs is usually lacking that entirely. I may have found a touch of grit maybe 3 times out of 40 bowls. I dont know what their secret is but I hope they keep it up.

I had their rice paper fish tacos. They were good, but the size of the fish in the fish tacos was ridiculous. It was so small! Less than an 1"×1" slice of catfish. Also, each order only had 1 taco so you need to order multiples to have more than a small bite.

First visit yesterday for lunch. So GOOD!! The Cape Codder was delicious and I am very excited to try everything on the menu! My lunch companion agreed that Smithtown Seafood is wonderful and just what Lexington needed. My new favorite place.

Does anyone know what vegan options they have? For example is their quinoa burger (patty) and bun it is served on vegan as well? I noticed they had vegan jackfruit crab cakes and I have to try that!

Freshest fish you will have in town and love the atmosphere being intertwined with West Sixth Brewing. Definitely a place to go if you are in a time crunch or just want to hang.
