Their crab and shrimp dip with homemade chips were great. The bucket of bones (ribs) were the end of the rib rack mostly gristle. My nephew had the "wings of mass destruction" they were deep fried wings that were drowned in franks hot sauce. He also had the pepperoni pizza. It looked like an oversized zesta cracker or flour tortilla with a lot of cheese and about 5 pepperonis. I had the shrimp trio that was good. I especially liked the black beans and rice side dish. It appeared to be a great neighborhood bar with a lot of locals and the prices were for a higher end resteraunt. Maybe if they call restaurant impossible to update the décor and fix some of the main dishes it could be a great place for Lexington.

The service was great. However, the quality of the food was that of a frozen seafood buffet. The price I paid for a "combination bucket" ($30) was what I could have paid at an all-you-can-eat frozen seafood buffet. After finishing my combo bucket, I was still hungry; the portion was small to say the least. I then ordered the shrimp and crab dip. It looked good on first glance, but as I was eating it, I questioned whether it had crab and/or shrimp in it. After digging around, I found 2 small pieces of shrimp, and crab shreds were hardly noticeable. I left the large majority on the table unscathed, paid my tab, and I will never go back to this establishment.

After reading some of the online reviews I was really excited to take my mom here on her birthday. There was a basketball game, and I think the regulars were all there, so we were pretty much ignored. I had the fish and chips, my fried fish was a bit soggy and a little underdone, as were the fries. My mom had the fried catfish and it was completely soggy, it looked and felt like they had microwaved a frozen fish patty. We also had the fried calamari, most of the breading fell off, and the calamari had been over done and was tough. The decor was nice, but that was hardly enough to make me ignore the bad food and the gruff waiter. I will not go back.

Must have been a terribly off day based on the other reviews. Service was very slow and lacked attention to basic service needs. Bathrooms were not clean. Food (steak) not cooked as ordered and the other food was just so-so for the cost. Waitress comped one meal by taking about $10 off the total bill , but that doesnt comensate for a ruined evening that was supposed to be a birthday celebration. My biggest recommendation would be to clean the place up and sanitize the bathrooms. Would not go back there again.

To Barrie Bingham. I am the owner of The Ketch and the person you spoke to about the incorrect credit card charge that you referenced in your review. Im not sure why you felt I was apathetic to your concern. I want to offer an apology again like I did when you called. I understand your frustration with the issue and am glad to learn that you received credit for the mistake. We will address the matter with our staff. Thank you for sharing the information.

Awesome oysters Best in Lexington.. other seafood beats regatta hands down.... Staff is always helpful and friendly too .. I like to have a Caesar salad and my husband and I share a deadliest catch bucket. But seriously you cant get better large plump oysters on half shell like this! Short of being on the coast somewhere this is it for the avid oyster lover. To top it off the bar is awesome and always an ample pour of whatever your imbibing in!!!

Great old Lexington seafood joint. No you are not on the coast so cut them some slack on that part. Great atmosphere, service and chow. Pick a special and you wont be disappointed. Drinks and a bar if you choose. The game is on the TVs but no loud volume. Sometimes they can be packed..and at those times parking is tight. Some of the chairs can be uncomfortable so its best to get there when you have a choice. Outdoor seating in good weather.

Food, service, and atmosphere were all top notch. The restaurant is very casual with not a hint of pretension. I ordered the seared Mahi Mahi and my wife ordered the bucket of crab legs and shrimp. The fish was seasoned and grilled perfectly, while the crab legs and shrimp were seasoned and boiled just right as well. For dessert we ordered the Bourbon banana bread and it was very delicious.

First of all the customer service was top notch, our waitress was a sweetheart and they accommodated a special order as I wanted my shrimp done differently. The food was delicious, my shrimp was done perfectly and the portions were large. I recommend the seafood dip as an appetizer, it comes with freshly fried, warm tortilla chips and has chunks of crab and shrimp and cheesy goodness.

The catfish had a nice breading with good flavor, but unfortunately, there wasnt much fish inside the breading. It was very thin and small. The red beans and rice tasted like Uncle Bens with a can of red beans poured over it. There was no seasoning and it was very bland. The crabcake tasted okay, but was flat and smaller in size than a hockey puck. I was still hungry when I left.

Never disappointed! Over the years, I have had everything from their outrageous brunch dishes (could be one of the best in the Bluegrass) to their grilled fishes. The seafood tacos are a perfect lunch. The bartenders pour a stiff drink and the beer is always cold. If the weather suits you, sit out on the patio. Give it a try. Get blown away at The Ketch!

Absolutelt delicious!!! This ranks on my top 10 list for best seafood, and its in KY! The price is great, the atmosphere is great. There isnt one thing about this restaurant that I wouldnt recommend. Do yourself a favor and go check it out. Even if you do not like seafood, the my have great chicken and steak options. This is an absolutely great place.

I wasnt overly impressed. The lobster was over cooked and you would think that youd get more for your money. It was $32 for the two tacos with a small bowl of beans and rice, a beer and a piece of cake. The cake was on point, the service was fast (but I also came in twenty minutes before closing) and the staff was friendly. Mens bathroom was a mess

Art and his staff serve the freshest seafood in lexington at great prices in an awesome atmosphere. I dont understand why anyone would go to a big chain restaurant and pay more for less when this gem is available. Excellent specials for lunch, dinner and drinks. A great place to watch UK games and be sure to check out their Sunday brunch!

I want everybody to know that I have been enjoying the food at the Ketch since I was a young man I am now 53 years young and the food is by far the best in Lexington. The oysters are awesome, life cannot get better than a nice cold beer and 2 dozen oysters on a half shell. Love this hidden GEM! Thanks for years of great seafood.
