Overall: Its sad that such a great BBQ joint as lousy lunch service. I had been there on numerous occasions but for some reason on the last two, the lunch service just went down hill. The service coupled with a very limited lunch menu with no substitutions on the sides (even if you want to pay more) leaves me wanting to avoid this place during the lunch service. Service: We were greeted with smiles from a very polite young lady in the lobby area. There was no wait and she promptly showed us to our seats. When the hostess left, so did the friendly atmosphere. The waitress that served our table put off a sense that she did not want to serve us and wanted to be elsewhere. After ordering our lunch we waited approx. 30 minutes with no free rolls being served. We finally was able to stop our waitress (mind you she hasnt been back to our table) and asked for them. We asked, "Do you all still give out free rolls?" and she responded, "Yeah, did you all want some?".................I sat there a little dumbfounded. After she brought our table the rolls I assume another table heard us and requested the same as she then handed out rolls to 3 other tables in the dining room. Finally, after waiting 55 minutes we received our food. After we ate - it took the waitress another 10 minutes just to give us our checks and pay us out. Needless to say - wasnt a very good experience. Food: I ordered BBQ and while the portion was very generous it only had about a tablespoon or two of BBQ sauce on it. We had to order an extra side of BBQ sauce just to get it suited right. After that however the food was amazing. While my other friend had a problem with the steak (ordered it medium, got well done); I was satisfied with the BBQ. Didnt blow me out of the water but still good for Etown.

Friendly staff, excellent service, and Fantastic Ribs. We would definitely go here again. We stopped in during a busy hour on a holiday weekend, but the staff didnt act tired, curt, or frazzled. Everyone was very courteous and friendly; the servers were busy as bees checking in at their tables. Our server was knowledgeable on minute details of the menu offerings, and helpful with making item suggestions to accommodate dietary requirements. Between us we ordered the BBQ ribs, salmon, classic bacon cheddar burger, and a sampler. The plates took a while to arrive because the kitchen was so busy, but our drinks were never empty, and our meals arrived together, hot and well plated. One side dish mistake was corrected immediately. Each entreé was well prepared. The salmon and burger were appropriately cooked to the requested temperatures, each bite tender and flavourful. The ribs alone were worth a trip. The BBQ sauce was delicious and the meat so tender each bite practically melted in your mouth. I docked one star because it was a bit frustrating for a tired traveller to find, off the main strip and tucked in behind another extremely busy restaurant.

Horrible. Stopped here on the way home from a business trip expecting good bbq. We ordered the pulled pork which came to the table more or less in one big chunk, with pieces of gristle throughout and swimming in a pool of red grease. The server was very condescending and when I complained about the meal being greasy she simply said "Hummm. It usually doesnt come out like that". Then she asked if we were ready for the check! There are bbq award trophies all over the place but I find it hard to believe its from this bbq. The place is worn out, dusty, and dirty. The menus were sticky. There is an exhibition window so you can see into the kitchen. When I went to the restroom upon first arriving there I walked by the window and there was a piece of cooked meat just sitting out on the cutting board. When I walked by 45 minutes later it was still sitting there uncovered. Dont walk away. Run away. Im surprised I didnt get sick.

Took my family here for the very first time for my daughters 18TH Birthday and we regret it. Absolutely the worst food weve had. The Champion Pulled Pork was very overcooked, very dry, very tough, and did not taste good at all. The BBQ Pulled Beef was undercooked yet the outer edges was still crisp and tough with a very bland taste. My daughter had the chicken fried steak and said it tasted bad. I took a bite and it did taste pretty horrible. Upon leaving the restaurant, my daughter got very sick before leaving the parking lot and threw up what she was able to eat from the restaurant. Even my 1 year old twin grandsons did not eat much of their hamburger meals (which is highly unusual for them). The only positive note of this visit, was the service and staff was decent. I will never recommend this restaurant nor will I ever visit this restaurant again. TERRIBLE FOOD at a high price of $85 plus tip for 4 adults and 2 babies.

While traveling my husband and I stopped here at Outlaws to get a steak last 4th of July weekend.we had a waitress that explained she was fairly new so we took that in consideration for things we ordered coming in slow and getting other tables orders. 40min waiting I looked up and could see into the kitchen and saw our waitress pick up my husbands fries with her bare hands and put them on my plate next to my baked potato for some reason then wipe her hair and adjust our steaks on tje plates with her hands and brought them to the table. We asked to speak with the manager which she never got. She passed us several times and noticed we were not eating and said "can i get you anything else"...just the manager....and we only had one set of eating utensils! Another waiting staff got a manager for us and no compensation was made. This place is a mockery to the food industry. We left after 8pm and drove through taco bell.

This was my second time eating here - my husband took me out for a birthday dinner, we were going to the restaurant across from this place - (wont list names )but it was packed so this was second option, we ordered a couple of burgers and fries, so to say when our burgers arrived they were burnt, my husbands burger was burnt really bad, she offered to replace the burger but we didnt want to wait longer because I had already had my food I could taste the burn all through out the burger, The french fries however was great lol! We asked for sweet teas to go they brought out two children cups of tea! Also dont expect any thing for Birthdays they dont do that kind of stuff at this location!

After seeing this establishment reviewed on the Food Network we had hopes that the negative reviews posted were an unjust smite on a local establishment in a sea of chain restaurants. Unfortunately we were equally disappointed. We shared a combination platter in effort to try each specialty Sadly, everything tasted baked and was served dressed in a sauce reminiscent of Cattlemans Bbq sauce with a touch of citrus and pepper added. With Louisvilles FABD and Hickory Pitt, along with Owensboro's Old Hickory setting the standards of KY BBQ, Texas Outlaw is a neither a fair tribute to Texas or KY. Shame on Food Network for not doing more research.
