Having seen all of these glowing reviews of this place, I felt that I had to stop here on a trip to Collinsville. I love some delicious barbecue. Well, unfortunately, that is something this place lacked. The pork - which there wasnt much of - was cold. It seems like they would at least have the decency to warm it up in a microwave. The portion sizes are ridiculously small (except for the ribs). The barbecue sauce provided in squirt bottles on the wobbly, three-decade-old tables were very much like lake houses, in that they were very close to water; the primary difference in the mild and hot barbecue sauces were the amount of black pepper added. The french fries were fine, in that they were thoroughly cooked and still slightly warm. The bathrooms lacked paper towels with which to dry ones hands. The decor has probably not been updated since the place opened. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly. If I were to base this review solely on customer service, I would gladly tell you that I would stop here again and again in the future. A sign on the front of the restaurant proudly exclaims, "VOTED BEST BARBECUE IN DEKALB COUNTY!" This does not bode well for the other barbecue restaurants in DeKalb county.

Well, I dont normally leave reviews on anything, but after seeing such great reviews on this place and trying... I thought what the hack. Searching for a good bar b que place on our way home from Chattanooga I saw the great reviews for Bar B Que Place, so we stopped to try them out. OK !!! My review is that it was not great at all and really not good. First off they had very little to choose from, so we got the pork plate which was chopped up in small pieces and cold, the sauce was not good but had to use it because the meat was dry. The beans tasted like they came out straight from the can, warmed up and put on the plate, the bread would have been better if buttered and toasted. The best thing here were the Jo Jo fries and the tea.. Thats why I gave it 1 star

If you are needing honest hickory-smoked BBQ, youll be hard pressed to find finer. Lean and juicy, no gristle or fat, The BBQ House offers pork and beef plates as well as chicken fingers. On football Saturdays, they have meaty ribs by the rack. During holidays, they smoke whole turkeys & hams.

This is the best bbq i have ever eaten. the jojos are unreal. every time i get to go to fort payne. this is the first place we go to. we also bring sauce back to tennessee. not even memphis or south carolina can touch this bbq. love love love it.

Staff was extremely nice. The food wasnt that good. The meat had way too much fat, not much flavor, and the sauces werent good either. The "baked beans" were pork-n-beans out of a can. Jo Jos were greasy, and not much flavor. Cole slaw was good.

Awesome service and awesome food. Their JoJos and chicken sauce are a must-try for anyone in the area. My friends and I eat here very often and have never been disappointed. The staff is very friendly and will always make you feel welcome.

I absolutely LOVE this place! Great food, great atmosphere, great people! Best kept secret in the south! Chicken and jojos a must! Homemade banana pudding that will make you want to go visit your grandma. EVERYONE MUST TRY THIS PLACE!

Outstanding food and amazing service. Jo jos are on the list of 100 things to eat in alabama before you die. And they are worth it. Had beef and pork bbq as well as the slaw and beans. Im a bbq guy going and this place is top notch.

They have the best bbq pork and chicken fingers, their chicken sauce is to die for. They make their own "fries" its breaded potatoes slices fried and they call them Jo-Jos mmmmhmmm best thing you put in your mouth

Love this place, everything here is awesome. I cant believe people would rate it less than 5 stars! The only down side is, today is Sunday and they are closed which sucks because I really want to go there.

One of the best Bar B-Q joints of all time. Food is always fresh. Sauces are ALL outstanding. Especially chicken finger sauce. Jo-jos are unique and world class. Hands down, best ribs around!
