If youre near the newly renovated Upper Landing Park or the Walkway Over the Hudson elevator and youre looking for the best place to eat in the City of Poughkeepsie, my wife and I recommend going to the Nic L Inn Wine Bar and Restaurant which is just around the corner on Water Street. We were there last night and well be going back with friends, because it was just that good. For starters, great dinning experiences start with great food, and great food comes from great chefs - we all know this. You can tell that whoevers in kitchen cares about food, because their serving only fresh, local ingredients in their restaurant. The wait staff was super friendly, polite and very professional so were giving the Nic L Inn Restaurant five stars all the way and think its the best place to eat in Poughkeepsie! Give our compliments to the chef. Well definitely be back.

As first time patrons, we were expecting good food with a unique atmosphere; but we were astonished to find the food salty and the atmosphere very noisy. Knowing it was pricy, we were attracted by the "Priced Fixed" offer; but our request was not met with acceptance. We encountered rudeness and were treated with contempt unbefitting to an owner of such an establishment. Apparently the owner forgot the power of the internet review. I do NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. Your money would be better spent in one of the many, many other fine dining establishments we have here in the Hudson Valley.

We discovered this little gem while visiting the Hudson River area. We ordered the salmon. It was reasonably priced and absolutely perfect. Ordering fish is risky because it is almost always overdone. No so here, their chef knows how to do it right. The staff is friendly and efficient and made every effort to make our visit enjoyable. I recommend it highly for anyone wishing an excellent, well-priced meal in a beautiful setting on the Hudson.

Such a great selection of craft beer and wine! I have eaten here several times and the food never disappoints. Its a cozy place with a nice bar/lounge area and a separate dining room. Great views of the nearby Walkway Over the Hudson and the Hudson River! Its a bit off the beaten path, but very worth it! It is just a short walk from the Poughkeepsie train station, Waryas Park and the new Upper Landing Park. Also near the Marist Boathouse.

It was sweet and small and elegant. Located out of the way of most of the things going on in the city its a nice place to get away from all the bustle. The food is good and very affordable. Good for those looking for something fresh and local. I would definitely go back to have lunch there again.

Had the homemade cavetelli and short rib sandwich, both were excellent. Drinks, White Mule and Strawberry lemonade which were nice and strong and tasty too. Just ordered a bread pudding and salted caramel tart which will be excellent for sure.

Great vibe but the food wasnt as good as I expected. My Chopped Summer Salad was delicious but after that everything was just okay, which wouldnt of been a problem, had it not been for the price. Will probably not be returning again.

I was delighted to find this great little bistro, as I walked along the Walkway. I have been there for lunch and dinner, and it was excellent. The service and atmosphere make it a great place to take friends for a special occasion.

Went here once for lunch. Its a little off the beaten path. The food was good and it wasnt very busy at all. The menu was quite extensive with the typical soups, salads and sandwiches available. Will be trying it again soon.

Id give 6 stars if I could. Unbelievable food and a perfect wine list. The pasta is homemade and the service sets a high bar. I had the pleasure of sitting outside and watching the sunset over the Hudson.
