Gorgeous, elegant decor, friendly waiter- but... waited standing 40 minutes to be seated on a Wednesday at 6:00 PM (party of 9). Waited a long time to get drinks, very long time to get food. Maybe it was an off night- staff missing or something. Ordered a main-course salad and was not asked if I wanted it when others got salads, or with main course. Was starving by that point and would have liked it. The wait staff and hostesses seemed generally harried and miserable- I was near the kitchen where they were coming out with grimaces: all seemed young and inexperienced. Hostesses were vacant, ditsy bimbo types, waiter took orders, then had to ask location of every drink- clearly new or bad memory and no system of tracking who had what, same with food- remembered nothing. Bus person helped and gave wrong meal to 2 people in party and had to replace one as they looked similar so person started eating wrong item. They were out of linguini, which seems insanely poor planning for a pasta place- they could have gone out to the store and then cooked more in the time it took to get food. Food looked attractive, tasted my husbands blue cheese dressing, seemed fresh home made, which always impresses me. My chicken Cesar, however, had excessively vinegary dressing, almost inedible, and chicken was clearly precooked, dry, tough, hollowed out inside breading it was so overcooked. The waiter never came by to asked if everything was OK or I would have sent it back and got something I could eat. Price was reasonable, but had to pay for parking, which factors in. Portions smallish- for Indiana. Will not be back.

Came to the old spaghetti factory for my birthday. When I walked in we were greated with enthusiastic and very amiable staff that helped us get seated. Our waiter Evelyn was also great. Very punctual, and filled with humor. She blessed me with many smiles that contributed to making my birthday great. However, the kitchen manager, this Friday night, was a different story. We had to send back our chicken Alfredo twice due to the noodles not being done. BOTH TIMES. The Alfredo noodles were tough and white in the middle. Its understandable because the kitchen was very busy. The part that upset us was that both times the kitchen manager came out she blamed the quality of the noodles on us. Saying things such as "we heard you didnt like your noodles" and "I checked all the noodles when they came out and they were fine" I could tell she was trying to be kind but her mouth couldnt form a genuine smile. These phrases were very insulting. Im confident a 6 year is capable of determining whether noodles are done. With a title like "the Old Spaghetti Factory" the kitchen manager should know noodles that are white on the inside are not fully cooked and should lalso be one of the best customer service representatives in the building. Overall the customer experience was great thanks to the floor staff. But the kitchen definitely needs work. If you choose to dine here please #checkyonoodles.

Good food, AMAZING service from our waitress, Val. Only reason it wasnt 5 stars is because it was literally 80°F in there (there was a thermostat right near our table). I felt so bad for the staff, having to work and move around in that temp. Not to mention the transition from the beautiful 65° weather to the heat wave inside had me dying a little; it took me a while to cool down. Luckily I was wearing a tank top under my blouse. A note to management: As someone who has been in their shoes, a physical job like that, in 80°F, in uniform, is a nightmare. Dont do that to your staff. It makes a job miserable and creates resentment. Luckily you have someone as great as Val who puts on a brave smiling face and stays super pleasant and attentive despite her working conditions. 5 stars to her.

My wife and I came here for a dinner date after it being recommend by a few friends. The ambience is interesting the feel is that of an upscale rsturants but has cheep place settings. The food and wait staff left much to be desired. I had never had gorgonzola cheese and from what the waiter said it would be a creamy cheese what we experiences reminded me of burned macaroni. My wifes fettuccine had a pool of oil at the bottom of the plate and the chicken was dry. My crab ravioli with pesto alfredo was not what I expected being very blandthe cream cheese and pesto being the only thing I could taste in the meal. Over all I would not recommend the resturant to anyone wanting a fine dining experience. The atmosphere would be better for a couple enjoying a glass of wine which I did not try.

This was our first visit and it will be our last. We arrived at 4:45 pm and were told there was an hour to an hour and a half. No problem we had a seat in the lobby and waited. At about an hour I noticed that everyone who was waiting in the lobby when we got there had already gone to their tables. My wife asked the hostess how much longer till we might be waiting and the hostess told my wife we were still within the allotted time and we would be called when it was our turn. At 1 hour and 45 minutes we were told that we were next. Then 5 groups of 4 8 people were called. I cant tell you anything about the food or service but i can tell you that the Manager was a dick and the hostess needs to find a job where she does not interact with human beings.

Great placed tucked away along Meridian St. We decided to hit this place up as we waited for the fireworks on the 4th. We ended up sitting in the bar area upstairs. The booth we chose was a little awkward as the seats were higher than the table. But it wasnt a deal breaker. Our server quickly came to our table and took our drink order. She was very friendly and up beat. All meals come with salad, bread, and spumoni...which is nice. Our order came out quickly and had good flavor. Our drinks never saw empty either, and empty plates were quickly removed from our table. If youre looking for a decent & affordable Italian restaurant in downtown Indy that also has good service... this is the place for you.

Was in Indianapolis with my wife while she was coaching in a volleyball tournament, which caused most restaurants in the city to be extremely busy, including this location. The wait was a little longer than we were willing to wait so we went up to the bar area and couldnt have been happier. Eric was fast, incredibly helpful since we had never been to an Old Spaghetti Factory and madw suggestions that left us beyond happy! The crab ravioli is one of the best pasta dishes Ive ever tasted! It was such a great experience that I would suggest you skip the waiting and head up to the bar and ask for Eric! Cant wait to get back to Indy next year and have it again! THANKS ERIC!

The food has gone downhill. I recently went there for my 1 year anniversary with my husband and the food was just not good. I could have made a better meal at home for half the price. Plus our server never once came back to see if we needed refills on our drinks. And we had to flag a waiter down just to get out bill. The staff is very slow so if you go here be prepared for a LONG dinner with LITTLE help. They also brought the food out and it was warm at best. Its like they forgot about us. Very displeased and will never go back. My advice stay home and make something yourself.
