My husband and I have eaten at the OBTG a couple of times, just to give it a fair chance that the visit prior was an exception. Nope. The menu options attempt to portray an upscale restaurant, which is what drew us in in the first place. Unfortunately, our experiences with the service, atmosphere and the actual food were each "mom & pop" level at the very best - although mom & pop would have likely put more food on the plate so that you didnt leave hungry and would have laughed at themselves as they attempted to open and pour a bottle of wine, rather than to pretend they knew what the heck they were trying to do. The atmosphere is a complete disjoint from the menu. Nothing upscale about the decor whatsoever. More like a country kitchen in my book, and the "bar" seems a small afterthought stuck in one corner upstairs. We are NOT big eaters, but a few shrimp delivered on a large plate vacant of any other food than a small cup of cole slaw wasnt even enough for me. We live near the restaurant and would have loved for this place to become our most favorite place to hang out, but it just didnt and I would not recommend it to our peers.

I have been here many times...Going out with friends for drinks...grabbing a bite for a late lunch...taking my number one out for a great dinner. Food, whether it be apps or entrées, is always spot on. I am a VERY picky steak kinda of guy(I want my steaks to be cooked as I request), and my number one is a vegan(true opposites). Bars are not big at all but, I like it that way. Great staff, and cozy atmosphere. Prices are decent. You pay for what you get! Depending on occupancy, food wait times can be a bit on the long end BUT, every time I have been annoyed by that...I eat my food, and forget all about it. Doesnt bother me, thats what socializing with "real" people is for.

I discovered this gem yesterday quit by accident. During the latest snow/ ice storm when getting out of my neighborhood by car was impossible I decided to walk the 2.5 miles to the nearest grocery store ( according to Google Maps) to satisfy my cabin fever and sweet tooth. It turns out that the grocery store didnt exist but walked by and went into OBTG to find Sara bartending extending her hand introducing herself and asking my name. After a couple of beers and a shot I was back into the 20 degree weather with a dessert in hand togo . Totally worth the 5 mile walk. Ill be back for dinner soon. This time Ill drive. Thanks Sara and OBTG for the surprising welcome to Bowie!

Went there with several people on St. Patricks Day. The traditional corned beef and cabbage that I was told would be offered at lunch time was just sliced deli corned beef and the price was on the high end for lunchtime and we did not get the beef brisket but the substitute. The waitress asked how our meal was and we told her it was not what we expected and she said sarcastically "OH!". She knew they did us wrong. What a terrible experience for our first time and last time. We will spread the news to all our friends. I doubt they will make it with such poor service and attitude.

Really nice place with a great vibe to hang out and have a couple of drinks. I recently went vegan and the bartender went through all of her wines until we could find one that was made without animal products in the fining process. She was awesome! I cant remember her name but she was the daughter of the owners. Their fries are great too :) Only wish they had more vegan options..

Fantastic atmosphere, great people, friendly staff and a loud live music arena. Crying shame that I as a local resident was banned almost 3 yrs ago based on a fellow patrons testimony of an act I never committed outside the actual establishment. They lost a boat load of my income... now I visit other local venues at a rate of 3 to 4 times a week.. The rumor mill....

Step in from the cold; the atmosphere alone from the Bowie Grille will warm you up! Seriously though, Ive never had a bad experience with this place and I never will. Whether youre just passing through and want classically amazing food or youre a regular and want a sure-thing delicious meal, this is where you should stop by. I guarantee youll enjoy yourself!!!

I have lived in the Old Bowie area for ten years. It actually took me quite some time before I actually ate at the OBTG, and now that I have, I love it. The appetizers are great, especially the wings, fried green beans and Irish nachos. The cream of crab is awesome. They also have music some nights. The friendly staff will make you feel right at home.

This is a great neighborhood place with friendly staff and a great small town feel. The menu is expansive as far as food goes and they have anything you can think of. They have a full bar and a respectable beer list considering they have only about 6 taps and maybe 8 cans/bottles. Would go back just to try dessert which I was too full for this time.

We went for a lunch date and got a burger and salad. The service was friendly. The burger was just OK and the wings were crisp but dried out. I probably wont be back. Previously: I didnt actually get to eat here. They were closed during their regular business hours. Ill have to call ahead next time to make sure they are open

I got the steak and cheese. It tasted normal. Not amazing but good. My mother could hardly put down her ciabatta burger. While my stepfathers sandwich was good, the bread came a little soggy. The fries are good and bread is great though you only get it upon request. Its warm and smells great. fresh baked and to the table.

This is a privately owned restaurant in an old area of the town of Bowie. It was very popular years ago, but now is showing its age - including the decor of the dining rooms. Our meal was good, but nothing to rave about. Theres a rooftop deck to dine on if the weather is good.

I like this place, it is very close to my house. It has nice food and good people working here. I wish they were open on Monday though. I enjoy their crabcake sandwiches and their hamburgers. Since my wife passed I eat out more so it is great to have a place close by.

This is one of the most amazing resurants I have ever eaten at. The Rockfish tacos and the Fettuccini Alfredo were amazing. The service is also amazing. Our waitress Mary was excellent and friendly.
