Our meal (lunch) there was an incredible experience. First, I am witnessing a bit of old age hearing loss. When the hostess asked us if we wanted a table or a booth, I replied that I wanted an area close to two walls (that helps if you are hard of hearing). She did, and then when the waiter started talking to us, he asked if we would like the music turned down. Wow! Not only could I enjoy the music, but I could hear my guests perfectly. I was with three students from Oman (and my wife). We ordered family style, which was wonderful. We didnt order a salad at first, but when I later asked for one, the waiter brought (on his recommendation) a wonderful salad--delicious. We were there for an incredible amount of time--maybe 3 hours, and no one seemed to mind. Earlier in the week my wife and I were at another restaurant, and we had an "OK" meal (seafood gumbo, and maybe a drink or two--I honestly dont remember--(perhaps in hearing loss, I am getting a bit senile as well). The bill for the two us us was $63. At Buca di Beppo, the bill for five of us was $67 (with tip)--Lasagne, Spaghetti and meatballs, and a delicious salad. Totally wonderful food. A couple of years ago, my wife was out of town and I had tickets to see Mamma Mia in Indianapolis. I called my daughter to set up a "date" for seeing it, and wanting to "impress" her, I said I would take her to any restaurant she wanted. She chose Buca di Beppo and I can see why. A wonderful, wonderful experience. Five Stars all the way.

Awful service. Couldnt believe this restaurant is still in business. Floors you could fall on because they are so greasy. Very unckean. Reservation for 1900 and we were there on time. Got seated around 1930. We all ordered and all seemed alright. We were wrong. We waited and waited. Ordered a 22 Oz beer and they come back an hr later (not exaggerating) and she comes back with a 14 Oz beer or at least thats what she said. I think it was more like 12. In the mean time the server kept coming to the table with thing we did not order. After 2 hrs we get our food. Not all of us got what we ordered so good sent back. After 2 hrs of waiting how do you get that wrong. Said they would make it right. They come back 15 minutes later with the right food and it was raw. How could the consumer eat something when the staff wouldnt even eat it? They said they were sorry and they would fix it and take it off the bill. 45 minutes later, no bill. Wth? Talk to the manager about everything and he said get out, the whole table. Dont worry about paying with some profanity in there. 3 hrs and a free meal that wasnt very good, we wont be back. Nobody should be treated that way at an establishment thats suppose to be at a higher standard.

Havent been to Buca in many years, but was excited to try it again for a Mothers Day family lunch. The large salad included about half a head of lettuce, 3 pepperocinis and 2 olives all for $22. No flavor and not enough toppings for 4 adults as the large was supposed to serve. Also, the "large" Chicken Marsala, while it had good flavor consisted of 3 chicken breasts halved and a handful of mushrooms...portion size was not worthy of a group. The fettuccine was cold. The kids portions were huge, which was needed as the family style entrees ordered were not enough to feed us. Luckily we had a kids pizza and a kids spaghetti. (and we are not big eaters) the garlic bread was good, though we thought regular bread would be brought out, but it wasnt. The photographs on the wall were offensive. A womens butt hanging out of her jeans, kid picking his nose, man spitting out food and many others not appetizing or suitable for kids. Not a family friendly place and we will not go back. Disappointed as it used to have good food and perfect for families sharing meals. I would put one star but the Marsala did have nice flavor and staff was friendly.

My wife, another couple and I went to Buca di Beppo tonight for the first time, and I have to say, the food was excellent. The wait staff was very attentive, and the portions were great. I read some pretty bad reviews, and I honestly dont see what they were talking about. The big drawback to the restaurant for me was it was kind of like being in a maze...hard to find bathrooms and even the main dining room. We ordered the trio appetizer, and it was the best calamari any of us have had in a very long time. Our main course was basically a sampler of their baked pastas and an order of chicken marsala (which was great!). We finished with some chocolate chip cannolies and a scoop of chocolate gelatto, both of which were delicious. The only complaint about the food my wife and I had was that there was fennel in the chicken cannollini we had, and were not too fond of fennel. All total (tip and all) we spent $100.00 for 4 people to have a 3 course meal, which is about what you might spend at a steak house for 2 courses. Well definately be back...I suggest checkin it out yourself before you go strictly by the bad reviews.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE. I like to give the benefit of the doubt that popular places are busy but this past Saturday, we went to Buca for my friends birthday. She made a reservation days before for 7 PM. I ended up getting there about 45 mins late due to traffic delays but my friend and the majority of her group had been there an seated the entire time. When i arrive, they had recieved no water cups, no water, plates, silverware, or anything else. On top of this, we had altogether a group of 20 and only ONE server who had NO CLUE what she was doing!! Other parties that had just arrived were recieving everything before us. She carried each thing out individually with her two hands instead of using a tray, further prolonging the time of service, and we didnt even get appetizers until about 8:45. The appetizers were small despite their "shareable" size and some of the entrees were mediocre. We received no apology for the awful service. I dont ever plan on going to this location again. Though my food was delicious, it was not worth the hassle and time.

We were bummed out about our trip to Buca di Beppo tonight. The only reason we chose to go was because my husband had a coupon from work where we were supposed to get $10 off a $30 meal. We gave it to the waitress before ordering, she inspected it, including the date, and took it back with her. We ordered an entree and side, totaling $44 after the tip, but after the meal, she came back with the coupon and said that she had been mistaken and that the coupon was expired. This was a mistake the restaurant could have easily taken upon themselves. If youre going to eat downtown, go across the street to Weber Grill for similar prices and much, much, much better food. This food is like a plain Olive Garden (Italian McDonalds), only fewer choices since youre ordering family-style. At least we left full and the staff was friendly. For that, we gave it two instead of one star.
