Today I visited original house of pancakes Oak Forest, Il. The service was bad, we waited almost 45 mins for our food. The waitress explained to a table that was sat after us that they were short staffed and food was coming up slow.Never said anything to us . When the food finally arrived after being in this establishment over an hour we were reasy to go. I began boxing up my food and when i got to the pancakes , noticed a bug was crawling in my food after I had eaten some. I was so very over this experience. When I alerted the waitress, shes like ohh its a tiny baby spider and killed it. I get it spiders are nothing but a spider insect bug crawling in your food that you have eaten is a big deal. My son got sick and vomited at the car as he has a weak stomache.No one apologized either for the slowness of the meal or the bug. The only thing she offered me was 10% off the 60.00 bill.. They have lost me as a customer. Who wants to eat anything else after that? This was a very horrible experience, Im upset and frustrated with this from management to service. No one performed well. Now maybe I should have caused a huge scene and made a huge deal and maybe it would have been handled like they even cared.

For starters, the food is consistently great, Original House of Pancakes has been a favorite of mine since I was child so no complaint there. However, today was disappointing. I ordered a jr plate (3 pancakes and 1 egg), coffee, and side of sliced tomatoes....my tab was 15.86. After adding my gratuity I paid 18.86. I found that to be a bit PRICEY for this venue. The complaint stems from the fact that the jr plate although it included the egg was 8.02 because I wanted my panckes to be blueberry, whereas a full order (6) of blueberry pancakes is 8.99. Had I been offered this option and full disclosure of the upcharge by the server, I would have gone with the latter. Furthermore and most importantly, I brought my concern to management and it was otherwise dismissed and I quote "had you gotten the full order your tab would have been about $20.00 bucks. This response was unacceptable. For me, its not about the money it is the principle. Customer service is just NOT what it use to be. I will stick with The Original House in Orland Park from now on. Much better service.

Im Robert and I work hard for my money! I will never waste it here or any of their chains either again! Walked in washed my hands got seated promptly, 730am on a Sunday! Dead slow. Julie was an excellent server, courteous charismatic and down to business! To bad for her the restaurant she works in serves "ham on the bone" (processed ham with a bone somehow in the middle) box eggs and meals without potatoes inincluded. Large tomato juice 3.29 (menu read 3.99 Julie brought me a small 8oz glass) ham and eggs 10.89( no taters)+ tax 16.97 tip 3.03 cakes are cakes $20 gone to this sad excuse of a breakfast restaurant 1 star is 20% , I rate this place negative 4stars!!!

Every Sunday me and my fiancé come to the original pancake house and each time has been good. What has made my most recent experiences great is our waitress Kristina!!!! Shes great always super friendly and attentive no matter how busy her section is! Now I request her every time we come and well even wait for her if her section is full and trust me her section is worth the wait! I keep going back just for Kristina!

After years of patronizing this establishment I wasnt allowed to bring my dunkin donuts styrofoam cup to my table the manager very rudely asked me to pour 20oz into a 8oz cup at my table. Seriously how rude youre a brunch establishment youre not a coffee house DD is not a direct competitor. Needless to say I opted to not dine in but got my order to go with Ill never come back thanks for the memory.

Smh...if you go there and you are unsatisfied with your meal you will be forced to pay for it. I just suggest you not go there period, dont get yourself involved. The food was cold and wasnt cooked the way I asked. If I could rate this a -5 star, I would. But they will get whatever God has for them...because thats wrong.

Worst customer service and they are racist. We been waiting for 1 hr and they didnt even take our order. They are taking other peoples order and they just came in 5 mins ago. Dont ever go to this place again. I wish I can give zero this garbage place.

So terrible. Went here for fathers day and it was a bad experience. The omelet was super runny not even cooked, I showed the manager and she is a WITCH. She didnt even apologize she said well thats how we cook them and walked off. Gross dont eat here.

Bad service.The host seated our family of 7 at a table that usually seats 6. Louis, the manager, said that table is usually for a family of 5, but didnt readily move us even though there were larger tables available. In the end, we moved ourselves.

I didnt like at all.......way to expensive for a little food......coffee to strong.......small cup of coffee $3,18....not even Starbucks. Definitely I wont come back to this place, again to expensive for a little food.

Ordered my food to be picked up I was told to wait 15 minutes I have to wait 30 got on the job site no silverware and my food Emma food was cold I dont recommend no black African-American Elma eaten at this restaurant

Nice clean place, the pancakes were pretty good although the hash browns could have been better, decent service as well. Overall would definitely recommend this place if you are looking to have a good breakfast!

Ate in Oak Forest. Vincent went out of his way to help prepare a take out order. Food and Service is always excellent. Only compliant.. the coffee is too strong and you dont see many asking for refills.

I have been eating there for over 20 but prices are getting out of hand but it,s better than I Hop service is great but when 3 eggs and 6 slices of bacon is $12 wow they should give you the potaatoes

I feel like I paid too much for an average breakfast. The service was very slow, too. If you want a great breakfast for a good price, try Kingsbury Waffle House down the street at 159th and Central.

Asked the waitress to split our bill and she handed us a calculator to figure it out ourselves... very mediocre food at a fairly high price. Was there for 2 hours and my water wasnt refilled once.

I really loved this place ten years ago. Service is still good, however the change of sausage and bacon has been disappointing. This place continues to have great pancakes and tasty hashbrowns.
