On 5/12/2014 I visited this restaurant after a funeral with thirty (30) members of my family. Their greeter “Gertrude” escorted everyone to a room in the rear of the restaurant and proceeded to tell us where we needed to sit in a very disrespectful manner. When told we were capable of sitting together and would not take every table in the room, “Gertrude” ignored us, and continued to tell my family exactly which chair each person should sit. We asked to speak with the manager, “Jim” approached and the situation was explained to him. “Jim” seemed annoyed that he had to speak with us period. When we told him “Gertrude” was disrespectful and we did not want her around our family, he exploded and said “Donʼt start with me, this is not a private room”, turned his back and walked away. That afternoon I filled out a complaint form on the Golden Corral website with a return call promised from the franchise owner. On 6/6/2014, almost a month later with no return call, I phoned corporate and spoke to “David Poulter” who told me “Golden Corral is a franchise, and it is up to each individual franchise owner to investigate all claims and delegate any punishment or restitution as they see fit". Very strange. On the morning of 6/17/2014 I called “David Poulter” again to inform him that I had not heard from the franchise owner “Bhavin Patel”. Mr. Poulter told me he was outside of the Tinley Park location and he would ask Mr. Patel to call me. Around 2:30 that afternoon I received a call from “Bhavin Patel” after waiting over a month to tell him about our negative experience in his restaurant, his tone was not only negative but degrading. “Bhavin Patel” is a very cold and insensitive man, and it is unfortunate that he is able to own a business that deals with families. In conclusion I am sincerely disappointed with Golden Corral as, my experience with them has been deplorable. We should avoid spending money with a franchise that condones the disrespect of their patrons with no possible fines or penalties from the corporation they represent.

food was decent, service was nonexistent. as I walked past the soda fountain to pay several children ran under the elevated horizontal boards that formed the line, right past the employees at the register. after this, we went to find a seat, and no waiter stopped by to tell us their name at any point. whenever we stopped the one employee in our section who walked by us, we asked for refills, and he got our drinks wrong, outright forgetting to get my grandma her water several times(he didnt once clean up our dishes off our table, but he quickly took care of them once they were in tall stacks on the table next to ours). the main reason we come is for the bread, but upon walking back and forth all along the entire buffet several times (as each employee said "no, our honeybutter is on the OTHER side") we learned they were "out" of the delicious spread. how do you run out of something that even comes in a container with your restaurants brand on it!? on top of that, every time we flagged the waiter (who, to his credit, did stop by one time of his own accord and ask us if we needed refills,) he would mix up our drinks or straight up bring the wrong ones. we never got his name, but as I went to leave after ordering one last refill of coke, he brings it back and I drink half of it before theres a sharp pain in my tongue, followed by breathing difficulties and slurred speech caused by my losing all feelings in my lips. Im allergic to aspartame, and specified REGULAR coke EACH time because of this, so the only two explanation to my condition only worsening over the past few hours since I left are either A. my waiter put something in that last drink, or B. he continuously brought me DIET soda, which I cant have!!

On 11/30/14, I went to this Golden Corral and had an awful experience with the General Manager, Jim Rimar. One elderly woman I was with, age 86, was completing her dessert when she realized she couldnt eat any more and the one cookie she had left, she wrapped it up to take with her. The GM came to our table and stated that it was reported on camera that someone at the table had wrapped food up and put it in their purse, all the while he was looking at me as he was saying this. The elderly lady removed the item from her purse and he snatched it from her and said "this is considered stealing and if you do it again I will call the police and have you arrested". Now, I believe there is a proper way to say what needs to be said without being rude and disrespectful, as the GM was. As we were getting ready to leave the restaurant, I asked the GM for a number to contact their headquarters office to report his disrespect and rudeness toward an elderly woman. He waved his arm in the air and said "I dont have to be nice to thieves". This sort of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially when you patronize an establishment and met with this type of hostility. I could probably understand if it were a plate of food being wrapped up to take out, but a cookie. Customers pile their plates up all the time and dont eat half the food they have on their plates, and yet he got ignorant over a cookie. Needless to say, the days of spending my hard earned money at this Golden Corral are over.

I went to golden corral on April 22, 2014 to celebrate my daughters birthday. This is where she wanted to go. This was my first and last time at this location. The line was long. It was very crowded. We didnt understand what to do with the different cups at the entrance way until we asked. We waited to be to be seated. The second part of my party arrived 6 minutes after the first party and we asked if we could be seated together at the beginning and was told yes. One server had a problem, but we did sit close by each other. We had three tables. We asked if we could bring in some cupcakes and was told no. We had a balloon and was told no. Both were a disappointment. They constantly ran out of food. Everyone was waiting for everything. They constantly made announcements for people to get their children, not to let them go up to get food by themselves, not to run throughout the restaurant. This was annoying. Our server for our party was William and he was great. He was and is the best part of this location.

They have a good variety of food. Great selections. And most of it was pretty good. Its waaay better than old country buffet. Also the place was clean and our waiter immediately came to ask what drinks we would like to have. It was crowded though we managed to find a quiet corner.. Me and my soulmate.. ❤ anyway, i dont know what the rest of these people are talking about when they say this golden corral is no good. Sure, the customers there can be a bit obnoxious but we laughed at the strange noises from this old man. Lol we didnt know if he was sneezing or laughing weirdly. Lol lol. The kids were excited to see the dessert bar.. Its only obvious Cmon now! They have a great selection of sweets. We had no problems there. And yes there was. A couple of employees sitting down eating well its calling "going on break" they are humans too you know... If you expect an employee to not be hungry then you should consider hiring robots lol lol Cmon now.
