We ducked in here during the strawberry festival to get out of the sun, regroup and get some food. It was busy because of the festival, but we got right in and sat in the bar area. We were glad to be in the corner, but soon a party of 6 came in to wait for their table. They stood by our table for quite a while. That was a little distracting, but Im not sure it was avoidable. We werent blown away by this place. Our waitress was nice and was sweet to make us cherry Cokes with grenadine. She was as attentive as she could be for how busy they were. We overheard the bartender saying that they werent serving food at the actual bar because of how busy they were. That was a shame because maybe they could have moved people in and out faster if they had allowed food service at the bar. We can sum up our visit with a phrase- weve had better food at dumpier places. All of our dishes were just a little "off"... an ingredient, extra side, etc. would helped the food a lot. I got the veggie salad with bleu cheese dressing (which costs extra). The salad had lettuce, a quarter of a tomato, broccoli, cucumbers and carrots. I know it was a "veggie" salad, but it could have used a little something extra.. croutons, cheese, sunflower seeds, something... I ordered the bleu cheese dressing even though it cost extra because I figured it was homemade. It was fine, but not as good as I had hoped. The bread that came with the salad was really good.. really fresh and soft. And I appreciated the real butter! One of my friends got the crab cake sandwich. She requested to hold the tomato, so the only other condiment was lettuce... which was a teeny tiny piece. It tasted like imitation crab and it was dry. My other friend got the pulled pork sandwich, which was on the specials board. He thought that the sandwich was bland, the bun was just like the bagged hamburger buns at any grocery store, and didnt come with enough fries. The menu was pretty limited and the seating was uncomfortable... not enough clearance for our legs. There was a mention on the placemat that everything at this restaurant was for sale, even the tables and chairs... we wont be purchasing our table and chairs, thank you. The waitress was nice and was sweet to make us cherry coke. I wouldnt say that this place should be avoided. Its not horrible, but just know that the food isnt anything to write home about. It looks like they have entertainment at night... maybe this is more of a nightspot that youd go to for appetizers and cocktails.

Went here with family for dinner...... It was a busy night, but the food was probably the worst weve ever had. The fried fish was greasy and barely warm. The prime rib was thin, full of fat and had zero flavor (the au jus and horseradish didnt help) and the rueben sandwich was palatable but fries were cold and the burger was nothing great. The house salad was plain. The wait staff was not very responsive or present. We were absolutely shocked at how a restaurant could stay in business with this food quality and poor service. We had the in-laws in from out of state and at the end of the meal I felt I had to apologize for this meal-- this was our first time here and definitely our last. I just saw the post for the Chocolate festival and thought itd be great to go-- but well eat somewhere else!

The food is nothing special. I had a Reuben and my husband and son had hamburgers. They both agreed that 1/2 lb. is just too much meat. For those of you that like really thick burgers you will like them. Can be pricey. The atmosphere is very nice however. The service was better the first time I went with my daughter and son in law. The second time it was slower, but the waitress attitude was good. I wish they offered 1/4 lb. hamburgers at a cheaper price and had a senior menu. I wouldnt make a special trip to go back again. I can get just as good or better closer to home.

This restaurant is a gem, which continues to be family-friendly, cozy, and fun for kids esp. at Christmastime. The entertainment is classically old-fashioned and warm. The service is decent, depending on the shift (no rush until after 5:30 pm when its busiest). The only thing Id like to know is when they would update the restrooms which kinda reek as you enter through the parking lot (more convenient than going through the front entrance in the winter). Its best to enter through the storefront if you dont mind the walk. Eat all you can Fish Friday is the best!

Wow Came to hear the band that night. Had four others come to listen with me. Band was great, manager shut them down early. The manager wouldnt even open a door to cool off the inside. It was warm, and even asked the waitress for help but was told they were understaffed and could not do anything unless the manager okayed it. Wont ever come back again.

Great place to grab a burger and a drink at the end of the day. The burgers are pretty good and decently sized and priced. They have a pretty decent beer selection. Its located in the Historic District of Long Grove, so the space is classic early 1900s, lots of woodwork inside with some cool antiques. Good place to check out.

A wonderful place to eat. It was Friday so weve had all-you-can-eat fish fry coleslaw french fries for $10.95. Yes you much person beverage for $2 but its still a bargain and wonderful food! I love the piano player. And the person making things out of the balloons was phenomenal. I wanted to be a kid! But I am a kid at heart.

We had a large group here the other night. It seemed to be a large inconvenience for the owners. We were treated rudely and had to wait a very long time to be seated. The place wasnt very busy. We then had to wait an extremely long time for our food. It felt like we were not welcome there. Not going back.

Best place to go for a burger ever. I see the negitive reviews and I notice people complain about the service.... Ive been going for years and the place had been around with the same family for a 100 years..... They must be doing something right

The service was horrible. It took three times grabbing my waiter just to get a glass of water. The burger I had was actually well cooked and to my liking. the fries were average. It was average food overall and terrible service and wait.

Service was great. Food not the same as yrs ago. It rained that day and carpet and wood by our table smelled so musty. Very disappointed on the food Extremely bland and tasted like it came out of a of a can. Stale bread.

Staff that was more concerned about shooting the breeze with themselves, crappy over priced foods! Save your time and money, go somewhere else. They use to be a good restaurant, but unfortunately no longer.

Best food, price, entertainment, service in town! Had dinner here last night and back again this afternoon for $5 pint of Sam Adams Oktoberfest Brew, sitting outside, taking a break while bike riding.
