Deplorable. I just had dinner at this place tonight. We had a table of maybe 13. Let me try and give you a run through as nice as I can. We sit with water for the first 15 mins before waiter takes appetizer order. After appetizer ordered it took 30 mins to get a few empanadas. Empanadas are decent, cant and wont complain there. The busboy visits our table quite often refilling waters and what not, actually saw him more than our server. Heres the issue with the busboy. Nice kind man but his breath you can smell as soon as he opens his mouth which was the equivalent of smelling a awful poopie diaper. I wish I had a nicer way to put that but quite frankly thats exactly the smell and it was stomach turning.... we order our food and wait about 40 mins for it to arrive to our table. It arrives all at different times and the first people that got their plates were DONE by the time the last person at the table received their food. My husband and I ordered the "guaharito" which was mediocre and the steak chewy and fatty. My sister ordered a Cuban sandwich that had more bread then meat. You couldnt barely see the meat between the bread. I mean is this a Cuban restaurant or are we mistaken!? ..... seriously can it get any worse?.... we request our bill- mind you we were told over and over when we sat that they will split the check in 3 different ways for us and that makes it "easier " for them. Yea comical!!!! It took the server 30 damn minutes to hand us a check. I wish I was exaggerating. I pull the manager to the side and explain to him our experience at HIS establishment. He listens says "let me go see whats going on" and never saw this mans face again. No apology, no nothing. We pay and manager sees us walk out the door since he was standing right at the door on register and says NADA! Unbelievable and to be honest thats exactly why the place runs the way it does. Because there this little man running an establishment and makes it very obvious he doesnt give a damn. Well, our bill is paid and I will be sure never to return!!

I took my wife out for dinner on a Saturday night to 90 Miles Cuban cafe, Here is my review. Pros: 1. Plenty of parking available, its a mall. 2. Awesome atmosphere, background latin music, and scenery makes you forget you are in a mall, and in IL. 3. Amazing Live music, They almost sound like a CD, and DJ on weekends. 4. I was able to make a reservation 3 hours before, and was seated within five Min after arriving. 5. The hostess was great 6. I really liked the decor. 7. The food was on point. Ive been to the other 90 miles location and it was just as delicious. The Cons: 1. The service was a 1 star. The waiter greeted us after 15 min, our drinks took 20 min to arrive, and we did not see the waiter again until it was time to pay, and even then i had to ask for my waiter. It took another 20 min to pay. I think our waiter forgot about us. If 90 Miles reads my review, Its about Quality and not quantity. I know waiters make more money if they tend to more tables, but you gain more loyal customers when your customers are properly attended to. Quality of service is so important. 2. Luckily the steak was delicious, however, the waiter did not ask how i wanted my steak cooked. 3. The steak is rather small compared to the other 90 miles location. I was very disappointed. 4. The price. my steak dish was $22, however, i believe it was over priced due to the size of my steak (Carne Asada) and my drinks were pricey. My overall experience was ok. I left content, but not amazed. If the meat portion was bigger or even added shrimp to the dish, and the service was up to par, i would not have minded the prices. The atmosphere, the parking, the decor, The live band, The food taste, and the smile on my wifes face made me give this place a 3 star. We will be back, i only hopes it gets better. According to other peoples posts, they need to address their waitstaff issues.

Absolutely terrible. Service was nearly nonexistent, had to ask busboy for a couple things. Food was bland and overpriced. Why I let my girlfriend talk me into a mall Cuban chain restaurant is beyond me. Two block west on Touhy is "Taste Of Cuba". Now thats Cuban food. I have absolutely no idea where these other reviewers come from. I truly suspect that they must be paid comments or employees. Because for me to go out of my way to speak on a bad dining experience is, if you knew me youd know, a first. I understand that people have a bad day, restaurants have a bad day.....whatever. But the issues were so obvious and hard to believe. I ordered a Papa Rellenas appetizer (fried potato with meat inside), when the waitress brought it, she laid it on the table and left. My unused (by me) fork had dried food on it, so I began looking for my waitress in this mostly empty restaurant.....She was AWOL......I asked the hostess, as she passed by for a fork. I got one. Then I realized that my Rellenas had been served with no sauce at all. Still No Waitress. I asked a different waitress for a sauce.....the dish generally comes with a Mojo or Avocado sauce........I Was Brought Catsup And Mustard.......No kidding. My girlfriend had the worst dried up Cuban Sandwich Id ever tried. We did not complain. We were laughing way too hard for that. I have a friend who ate at the other location in the city. He said it was obviously better there, but not by enough to justify going out to a chain "Cuban" cafe in Chicago.......As I said above, Literally down the street is "Taste of Cuba" on Touhy in Skokie.. The place is small, a bit loud, a bit smoky, with the most awesome authentic Cuban food available in Chicagoland.....at half the price. Go try it, then tell me whos review here is legit.

We were a table of 4, and came in at about 9pm for dinner. When we first arrived, we were sat right in front of the live music. It was incredibly loud! Our group was hoping to catch up, so we requested to move further back into the restraint. The hostess was very polite, and understanding. She, and a couple others, moved a table around in the area of the restaurant that looked like they were starting to close for the night. They were very accommodating, and never made us feel weird about moving. Our server was training someone new, and when they came to our table they were both so friendly. Our table had little experience with a Cuban menu, and when we asked a few questions seeming confused, they were happy to explain the dishes to us. Im not saying like, helping us with a few words... Im talking like a detailed description of the dish and sides. They wanted us to chose what we would like. They were so kind!! And again, never made us feel uncomfortable for asking to explain the most basic things. We ended up staying until they closed, and our servers were so polite. They list is just hang out while the place started closing little by little. The food was UNBELIEVABLE. Our table had a range of things.. A Sandwich, a steak, some pork... I even had tofu. Even the tofu was so good.... Maybe the best Ive ever had. The sangria was delicious too. We love this place! Thank you for the great food and great series!
