This place had the potential to be awesome, but as soon as we walked through the door we were asked to remove our jerseys. We were out for a bacholorette party and all had jerseys with "bridesmaids" printed on the back. This wouldnt have been a big deal, but the staff was incredibly rude with their delivery of this information. Seeing as we had reservations, we complied and took off our jerseys, even though a couple members of our party were wearing tank tops underneath said jerseys. As we.made our way to our table we couldnt help but notice a guy wearing *gasp* a jersey at the bar. Kind of strange considering we just took ours off...even so we were still hopeful that this place would be nice to enjoy some pizza and drinks before our night out. Pizza selection was mediocre at best, and our margaritas and beers were served in plastic cups and cans. Kind of weird for a place so set on a dress code better suited for club 54. We sat next to a big open window which ultimately was the biggest blessing of the whole experience, considering I literally jumped out of it after 2 canned beers and pizza in the same league as tostinoes party pizza. I couldnt help but notice as we walked away from the most pompous pizza parlor in chicago that there was a sign outside advertising it as a "casual dining" restaurant. I have since started a go fund me page to get this place a new sign better suited for the pretentious atmosphere of this so called pizza parlor. Not really...but come on. You would be better off going to Applebees.

The Pizza Bread is MUST TRY. Its a loaf of cheezy-garlic bread with pepperoni, pesto, garlic butter, and some sort of peppers baked into the best bread youll ever have. This place is solid. They have a rooftop and are a bit stingy in terms of when they open up and for how long. The music is kind of quiet. They have a ping pong table upstairs which is pretty cool and the rooftop has 2 large screen TVs incase you want to catch a game under the sun. The downstairs has a nice outdoor patio also with plenty of seating and umbrellas to enjoy a nice day under the sun, a cold beer, and great food. The pizza is solid and there are plenty of options. The bar area is pretty cool and the drinks are great. Plenty of drink options to pair with great pizza. The only negative I had is that the service is not that great. We recently celebrated my birthday here and had a large party of roughly 18 guests. We arrived early so we could enjoy the day on the rooftop and were given a hard time when we asked for tables next to each other. Our waitress was extremely slow and unaccomadating ( I get that its busy but we had a large party and worked up quite the tab through the day.. the least we could get was attentive service). Bar tenders are fairly rude and seem to be upset when you ask for a water on a 88 degree sunny day. All in all I still love this place but DONT GO HERE FOR GOOD SERVICE!!! The service and run around that we got from the staff was ridiculous.

Very well designed restaurant. Service was good , creative menu , moderate prices for the West Loop. Fun joint .Very Popular watering hole . Appetizers myself and my visiting family were served; Humus Platter: Excellent! Frites: Odds and ends of short stubby fries ,not one stub was crisp. We looked at them and then looked around or the nearest trash can. My sisters salads were fair to midland. Incredible artisan cherry tomatoes , delicious. PIZZA:ONE STAR Both pizzas were under cooked. It was s shame to because the toppings looked great. KITCHEN STAFF: With thin crust pizza ANY CHEF knows you must get the crust COOKED to crisp due to sauce making any thin crust pizza soggy. We had to pick up the slices and roll them up to eat them, Actually my brother stopped after one slice. A soggy mess .Inedible. My brother did not send his back because we had 90 min to enjoy dining before they were to leave town. This is poor kitchen management as I know as a food industry veteran. The venue was packed to the rafters and the kitchen used NO CARE in the prep of their main item -PIZZA. Blindly shoving out under cooked PIZZA to paying customers. A shame too because they have a wood fired oven USE IT PROPERLY please! My visiting siblings were starving after a day of tourist activity and I let them down. NO Parlor Pizza was a let down. It could be so much better...if they cared,

I didnt get to attend and will never attend this restaurant due to them cancelling their Halloween event less than a week ahead of time due to "safety concerns" of having an open bar package during the world series. Really? This place is in west loop, 30 minutes from Wrigley, you might as well abandon the city if you are that afraid of the cubs winning. And even with open bar packages you have the right to refuse alcohol if someone is too intoxicated. I bought my tickets well in advance to get the early bird special for a Halloween event, I could have purchased tickets to any other event and got early bird specials, but I chose this one. With less than a week notice, all other events are either sold out or super expensive, which leaves me with no plans for Halloween. Oh and the restaurant is still going to be open, but chose to make it first come first serve for table reservations, which were all booked within the hour. This restaurant doesnt care about customer satisfaction or "safety", they just wanted to make more money instead of the capped Halloween event price. I would not recommend this business based on this interaction that I have had with them, because I can only image how they would treat their customers if something was wrong with their order.

Im surprised this place has only 5 star reviews so far, so I feel the need to even the score. This place has a great atmosphere, and its the type of bar that doesnt really exist elsewhere in West Loop. For that reason, I do enjoy this place. Its a great place to go watch sports with friends, and I am just ecstatic to spend some time on the rooftop next summer - which we didnt get to experience this year as the place didnt open until the very end of August. The pizza is hit or miss for me, which is one of the reasons I have a hard time rating this place highly. I have tried 5 of them so far: 2 mediocre (Abe Fromans Fave & Margherita), 2 good (Burrata Be Kiddin Me & Salmon Cream Cheese brunch pizza), 1 great (Brussel Shuffle). The one food item that Id say is a must order (and really the one Id come back for) is the Nacho Bites appetizer. They spread about 10 homemade tortilla chips around a tray, and dress each individually with beans, bbq pork, cheese, chipotle mayo, etc. Super flavorful and I can appreciate the effort put into making them! Finally, the rotating beer list is both substantial and has great variety. Overall, its a great bar and a decent restaurant.

Not only is the food disappointing, but this restaurants dress code is mind boggling. The name of the place is "parlor pizza bar," yet you cannot be seated or even have a beer at the bar while wearing a baseball jersey. Dear Parlor Pizza Bar, 1) You are in the west loop, blocks away from Chicago sports history. 2) You have "bar" in your title. This insinuates you are a bar. Bars are typically associated with sports. Maybe consider changing your name. 3) You have "parlor pizza" in your title. This insinuates you are a pizza parlor. Pizza parlors are typically without strict dress code. Maybe consider a rebranding. 4) When your own doorman admits that he hates working the front door because he turns several people away every day due to dress, maybe you should consider a change in policy. Im not asking for a no shoes, no shirt, no problems policy. Im asking for an accepting dress code on days of games, which is the exact situation I was turned away. Also, the food is average at best. Service has been uneven every time Ive dined. Walk across the street and take some notes from Boka group.
