Cornerstone Cafe is a "Mom and Pop" joint that recently opened up on the corner of Western and Elston. Fresh ingredients and love are really the key to their excellent diner food. I have tried a variety of their meals but mostly their breakfast and it is excellent. All of the egg dishes are delicious bu the omlettes are phenomenal. The blueberry pancakes and challah french toast are two additional favorites. None of the meals are greasy and once you get table the service is prompt. The only reason I gave it four stars is the lack of space. I wish the diner had more space in the foyer of the building. During the winter you have to wait inside almost on top of some of the booths but in the summer you can eat outside.

Its really a step back into the early 90s the diners my mom use to take me when I was a kid. The ambiance is relaxing. I went here yesterday for a meeting our waitress said hello greeted us brought coffee and forgot to take our order, 20 minutes later after asking for her I ordered the Mediterranean wrap (chicken) with sweet potato fries, it was okay average the wrap really didnt call for a Mediterranean there was no flare to living up to the name could have just called it chicken wrap. Nice place just for a quick, cheap, bite and coffee.

This is a good place for breakfast. The service and delivery are consistent which makes going there effortless and enjoyable. I usually get an omelette, cream cheese/lox, yum. I like how they give you one piece of toast, truly. At first i thought I was being cheated a piece of bread but then realized that one piece is truly enough, so thanks for that Cornerstone. And sometimes you get a little breakfast muffin if they havent run out. I break fast here a couple times a year.

Superlative: we shared an omelet, hash browns, & pancakes. I got a side of Canadian bacon. The food was so good we were both clean plate club members. The coffee was exceptionally smooth, a type of almost chocolaty quality, of which complemented the after breakfast conversation. The staff are excellent at customer service. Theres no parking lot. Although, metered parking along the streets can be found. That was breakfast at 1pm. Well worth your deliberations.

We came in as this seemed to be the only decent breakfast option around after dropping our car off at Fox Ford for service. Its a good location on a busy intersection. It wasnt too busy at 930 am on a Saturday. The service was great. I ordered the banana French toast with a 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy. Gf ordered the Turkey sausage scrambler with hash browns and French toast. Food 3/5 Service 4/5 Price 5/5

This is my go-to diner. Great biscuits and gravy and super juicy, flavorful scrambles. The breakfast sandwich is served on a HUGE, chewy, buttery croissant and the pancakes are perfect. Lunch sandwiches, like the chicken or tuna salad, are solid too. The staff is friendly and the vibe is very "small town, mom & pop." Sitting at the counter and sipping on a coffee is the way to go!

We are big fans of Cornerstone Cafe. The food is fast and excellent -- I love the 2x2x2 and the Smoked Gouda omelet, while my boyfriend enjoys the Cajun Scrambler or Corned Beef Hash. They also make great coffee and hot chocolate. Everyone is so friendly -- its like one big family there. Tish and Paul, the owners, are wonderful. Looking to avoid the line? Sit at the counter.

The staff and manager (Johnathan) were great. The card I tried to pay with wasnt working so they gave me the order for free. I went back to the hotel and got cash and paid later in the day. They thanked me for my honesty and insisted on giving me a free drink. Its nice to know good people and places still exist. The food was very reasonable and very delicious.

This place is very basic, but this has to be the best value for breakfast/brunch in Chicago. The table turnover is quick, the omlets are huge and delicious, they have very basic plus some unique selections. The prices are about as low as you can find, the service is adequate, and the coffee is the best diner coffee you will have, always fresh tasting.

My go to breakfast and lunch spot. During the week Ill go and work from here and rarely a weekend passes where we dont swing by for breakfast or brunch. The owner is usually there and is super nice and all of the staff are as well. Great family vibe with higher quality food than you would expect out of a diner or at the price.

Excellent food and service. We ate there with our 6 month old. They gave us a nice table on their patio. We both got omelettes which were delicious along with their French toast. I usually am very particular about French toast but they definitely had my number. Looking forward to trying more things on the menu.

I was having breakfast with my brother and saw they had Pumpkin pancakes.what a way to start Oct 1. When I asked it to be served as a side. They said they only served it as a stack.Im not sure why,but I guess what a customer wants no longer apllies. I was so disapointed. What a start to a fall day

We were seated right away on a Sunday at noon! Only a party of 3, but still. The food and service was superb! Omlettes were incredible and I highly recommend getting the French toast as your side, its the best weve ever had! High quality food and fast, we will gladly become regulars here!

This is a lovely little breakfast spot! It isnt very large so it has a bit of a "crowded" feel but is not at all uncomfortable; that feel is actually a great part of this spots charm. The food is great and very well priced! Definitely a great spot for a weekend breakfast/brunch date.

This place serves very fresh foods for incredibly cheap! I wish the cafe was open past 4pm but Ill take what I can get. The staff are pretty friendly and I love that its a family owned restaurant. The couple that runs this place is sweet as can be. Good portions for good price!

One of the most under rated gems in the city! The staff is always so friendly, perfectly cooked breakfast and healthy sized proportions. You may catch the owners waiting tables saying hi to the usuals. The omelets are insanely big, just love coming here.
