Namaste Spiceland prices are unreasonably high. It makes sense to buy something at this store only if you are in urgency and have no other choice. But if you do have a choice then stay away from this place. PRICE: I did a thorough price comparison on a variety of Indian grocery items listed at Namaste Spiceland and other Indian grocery stores. Namaste Spiceland prices are anywhere between 57%-180% higher than other Indian grocery stores in Woodland Hills. Next I compared their prices with Valley Produce in Simi Valley which has a wide range of Indian and other ethnic groceries and Valley Produce prices are "much much much lower" than Namaste Spiceland. Take a Sona Masoori rice bag for example, Valley produce sells it between $12.99-$13.99, depending on brand for a 20lb rice bag and Namaste Spiceland is selling the same for $16.99 - $19.99. VIOLATIONS 06/16/2016 INSPECTION EMPLOYEE PRACTICES - A FOOD HANDLER WAS OBSERVED NOT PROPERLY WASHING HANDS BEFORE HANDLING FOOD OR CLEAN UTENSILS. EQUIPMENT SANITATION- EQUIPMENT/UTENSILS USED IN THE PREPARATION AND DISPLAY OF FOOD ARE NOT NON-TOXIC, NON-CORROSIVE, ARE NOT CONSTRUCTED, INSTALLED OR MAINTAINED TO BE EASILY CLEANED, OR ARE NOT KEPT CLEAN AND IN GOOD REPAIR. EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE- PLUMBING FIXTURES ARE LEAKING OR IN DISREPAIR. EQUIPMENT SANITATION- CUTTING BLOCKS, BOARDS OR SURFACES ARE NOT RESURFACED AS NEEDED TO BE EFFECTIVELY CLEANED AND SANITIZED. REPEATED VIOLATIONS ->check decadeonline website Cockroaches, you dont have to be lucky to find one, chances are you will find them along the aisles, kitchen and restroom areas. Speaking of restroom, unless your bladder is begging you to drain it out, dont you dare step inside their restrooms. Food, is average quality nothing to rave, just like normal street food that you get elsewhere. Bottom line, if you are living in and around Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village and you need Indian groceries and ethnic vegetables drive to Valley Produce and purchase there. Even stores like ISS, Sunshine in Woodland Hills sell good at higher price compared to Valley Produce in Vanowen St and Simi. If you are one among those who purchases groceries in bulk then head out to Artesia with your family, purchase groceries at dirt cheap prices, enjoy lunch and dinner at some of the finest restaurants there, then watch an Indian movie, stroll along the Blvd and come home. End of the day you would have spent your money wisely. All the best

Finally....bloody finally....a legit Indian grocery store & a small but authentic prepared food section in the Ventura county. It was miserable to make the drive to Artesia to find a store for basic groceries. For the first time with the new management, this place has moved up from an "emergency Indian grocery shopping spot" to a "I dont have to drive 30 darn miles to buy a fresh cooking ingredient" standard. Congrats guys you are getting there. 3 things you got right - Fresh veggies for which we dont have to trek up to Valley produce - Variety of ingredients that are fresh and arent a year old! - a good fast and prepared food section- the chat items I had today were tasty and fresh

ITs one of my fave places for Indian food and spices...veggies to cook... veggies... the owners are very friendly!! the people in the store are friendly!! sometimes, it gets really crowded...but the service is still good!! I like to see crowded restaurant..or food related! it means that its yummy and good quality! I also rent Bollywood movies... they have new movies....and so forth. I think they are very affordable!! (especially for this area) There s no Indian restaurant..in this area... Besides...the food in Apna...tastes like home made..

If there were 10 stars, I would give them 11. Kapil and team have made this place amazing compared to how it was 2-3 years ago. A brief change in ownership last year and now to Kapil has been amazing - clean, more varieties and just cleanliness - kudos Kapil bro! We do not have to run to the valley anymore

the groceries here are priced 1$ to 2$ more on each item compared to the other Indian stores in woodland hills or simmivalley but the food here is good especially the chat and panipoori
