My boyfriend and I live so close to the Golden Apple we frequent this place pretty often and we LOVE it. Weve had the breakfast and lunch/dinner food all of it is amazing. My favorite thing to get is their mozz sticks with garlic bread soo good my boyfriend gets the patty melt and steak breakfast skillet. The service is also amazing, ask for Mary if you can! Mary is one of the best waitresses there, youll love her! We stop in here sometimes just to say "hi Mary!" hahaha! Another thing is its not super expensive either, we usually make out with two meals for $16-20. Definitely check this place out, its worth your time and money!!! :)

Very good stop to check out for a Sunday hang-over breakfast. The skillets are great and the service is also top notch! I personally like the atmosphere- it is pretty quintessential diner decor, but the place is great. If you have kids, the menu is child-friendly and they have balloons for when you leave! the overs and staff are great- I recommend anybody try this place. Order the pancakes as a side, and you will not be disappointed.

Came here with two others on a Sunday morning. The restaurant was busy but we were seated quickly outside. Overall, we had a very bad experience and wouldnt go back. Slow service and the food took around an hour to come out. We got: chicken fajita omelet, eggs Benedict, and The 2222. Omelet was burnt,eggs were overdone, toast was soggy. Very surprised this place gets the reviews that it does.

My girlfriend and I were wandering around looking for somewhere to eat when we stumbled upon this gem. She had the Raspberry French toast filled with cream cheese, and I had the pork kabob. I would probably say she picked the winner, but mine was awesome and I had enough left over to get two meals out of it. Great value for the $$ we thought and overall a very good experience.

If you are looking for a solid diner experience, you need to check out the golden apple diner. I had a grilled cheese and lentil soup that seriously tasted better than mom used to make. My boyfriend loved the toasty buns on his classic diner burger. I think they make their own pickles too. You cant beat the food or the service for anytime dining. #treatyoself

Any time Im in the mood for some night food or a good weekend breakfast, this place never lets me down. Its a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere, and the food doesnt try to be anything more than it is. Good, tasty food, served quickly, and the service is always quite hospitable. Ive been coming here for years, and have yet to have a bad experience.

I too went because of that episode on This American life. The desert carousel was broke, so we didnt order desert ;-) .. Had a wonderful club sandwich for 8 bucks with fries and soup. The menu is huge, tons of options, and breakfast is served 24 hours! Look forward to going back! (for a diner this place is pretty awesome)

My dad and I ate here one morning about 5 AM. My daughter lived down the street from here. I think we both had the 2+2+2+2 special. bacon eggs pancakes and toast. Very tasty and priced right. The coffee was outstanding too. Mary was our waitress. She was very attentive and never let our coffee cups go dry.

This place has so many memories associated with itself for me, most of them being in the AM times, because it was one of the only 24hour joints near where i used to live. Not the best to go out for a dinner, but great for early breakfast, or greasy food after a rough night

Best place for late night food! As a DePaul student, Im always looking for inexpensive, high-quality food near campus. I already heard great things about this place, but I can say for myself that Golden Apple is amazing! I recommend the breakfast burrito.

Good at 3 am, good at 3 pm. Cant go wrong with diner food. Stay away from the complicated dishes. Their "bread and butter" is the simple plates with eggs, bacon, potatoes, etc. Country side skillet is the greatest dish this world has ever seen.

Came here for breakfast only to spend $40 for pancakes and French toast that are cooked with a pound of butter. The milkshakes are flat. Hashbrown were mashed potatoes. Gross coffee. Terribly cooked eggs. Bad Plate presentation for these prices.

The 2222 breakfast was decent, the Irish eggs benedict came with cold meat and overcooked eggs that resembled boiled eggs rather than benedict. The restroom was unsanitary with urine everywhere. Lastly, the staff was friendly and attentive.

Sat outside with my wife and son and enjoyed the breakfast. Main complaint was how slow the service was and they were not very attentive. Our son got very impatient sitting and waiting a decent amount of time just to get the check.

I love that it is 24hours. I liked the free wifi and the conveniently placed electrical outlets under most tables. It is very clean and the wait-staff is very nice. However, the service is very slow and the food is a C+ at best.

Really enjoyed eating here, came here twice before leaving Chicago as it was by my Airbnb. Service and food was quality, price is really great as well. Recommend if youre looking for a good and chill spot to eat at.

We love this diner...great selection, great food (especially the french toast) and good service! Its a diner, so dont expect anything fancy...but if "comfort food" is what you are looking for, this is your place!

I love the fact that is always open. The hashbrowns were more like mashed potatoes, the benedict eggs were not delicious. Im just happy they opened on Xmas day because I was hungry and everything was close.

Ate there once, I ordered a steak and got a hamburger patty instead. Waitress also kept forgetting our order. The rest of the food was pretty bad for the price. Id be better off with Mc Donalds

The food was okay I can say but I didnt like the fact that my food was $32 dollars and I paid with $100 and received $63 as my change but I guess the waitress tips herself.
