THIS PLACE DESERVES ZERO STARS [0]- YESTERDAY I WORKED A LONG DAY & WANTED CHINESE FOOD FOR MY FAMILY FOR DINNER. I ORDER A FULL SIZE BEEF & BROCCOLI, FULL CHICKEN FRIED RICE, 2 VEGETABLE EGG ROLLS, & I WAS SUPPOSED TO RECEIVE A SMALL CHICKEN FRIED RICE FOR FREE WITH MY ORDER. HOWEVER, WHEN THE DRIVER ARRIVED AN HOUR LATET HE ONLY HAD A LARGE CHICKEN FRIED RICE & NOTHING ELSE. I ASKED HIM FOR THE REST OF MY FOOD & HE SAID THATS ALL THEY HAVE ME I DONT KNOW WHAT YOURE TALKING ABOUT! I TOLD HIM ITEMS I WAS MISSING & HE THREW HIS HANDS UP IN THE AIR & WALKED AWAY. I CALLED BACK & SPOKE WITH YASSIN. HE WAS VERY POLITE & TOLD ME THAT HE WOULD GIVE ME CREDIT FOR TOMORROW. I CALLED TODAY AT 11:45 AM & SPOKE WITH THE MOST NASTIEST RUDE GUY ON THE PLANET. HE TOLD ME THAT HE WASNT GIVING ME ANYTHING FOR FREE BECAUSE I DIDNT PAY FOR THE CHICKEN FRIED RICE. I TOLD HIM THAT I WASNT ABLE TO PAY BECAUSE THE DRIVER WALKED AWAY & THAT ID BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO PAY FOR IT TODAY WITH RECEIVING A DISCOUNT FOR THE OTHER ITEMS THAT I DIDNT RECEIVE. HE SAID NO HE WASNT DOING THAT. HE WAS EXTREMELY RUDE & VERY OBNOXIOUS. I TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO HIM WHAT HAPPENED & HE KEPT CUTTING ME OFF. ITS VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND THEIR ENGLISH & ESPECIALLY THE DELIVERY GUYS. THEN THEY GET SO UPSET & IMPATIENT BECAUSE YOU CANT UNDERSTAND THEM. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN UNLESS THEY APOLOGIZE FOR TREATING ME BADLY.

If you like this restaurant, you dont know Chinese food from shoe leather. Im serious. I ordered twice cooked pork and it was by far the worst twice cooked pork I have ever had. Actually the only thing in it that is in traditional twice cooked pork was the pork. But even that was stretching it, as they used a completely wrong cut of pork. Every other ingredient in the dish is not an ingredient that is supposed to be in twice cooked pork. Needless to say, it was missing all the crucial ingredients. It tasted nothing like twice cooked pork. And when I say nothing, I mean nothing as in the way steak tastes nothing like cream of broccoli soup. Even if I give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they were making a different dish, I honestly dont know what that dish would be. A moo goo gai pan ripoff with pork instead of chicken? And preserved bamboo instead of fresh vegetables? Possibly. Except that dish doesnt exist in Chinese cooking. Whatever it was they thought they were making, I can vividly describe what it tasted like: decayed meat covered by a weak white wine based (as in mostly starch instead of wine) sauce.

Taste of every dish is identical and has zero sause or seasoning. The weirdest thing. jasmine rice is white rice. Placed $80 order and they did not include mustard sauce with friends. We all had the same reaction I requested that we be allowed a minimum order redelivery with the mustard sauce and simply asked that they include a few packets so we could eat the food, pay for the extra delivery and not waste an order, require redelivery or even consider a poor review. .The woman put us on hold for twn minutes started yelling they only include mustard sauce with egg rolls and their customers want everything to taste the same. This sort of needs a warning; Bright side- you can safely feed the bland unseasoned food to pets, hospital patients and infants. Even the "kung pao." One star is required if they exist.

I diiiid love this restaurant...until I placed an order one night and it was delivered 45 minutes past the confirmed time! There was not even a phone call! Finally, GrubHub had to call and they said that they were "on their way"-yeah right...the restaurant is about 8 blocks away and from the time they said they were on their way, it had been 30 minutes! When GrubHub called, no one picked up. There was no apology--even though they had already charged my card for the $4 delivery TIP I gave them. GrubHub was nice enough to give me a giftcard...all in all and unfortunately, I will never be ordering from here again-which really sucks...they really need to get their act together!!

This is an awesome place for carryout and delivery of old school Chinese food. You can dine in as well, and although it has the ambience expected of any fast food restaurant, it is exceptionally clean, as well as the kitchen which is open for all to see. My favorites include their Won Ton Soup (shrimp-free with lots of good BBQ pork tossed in), Tomato Pepper Beef (tasty with great beef in a light garlic bean sauce), and their fried Cantonese Noodles side dish (perfectly fried and browned with a sprinkling of green onions). Overall great Chinese food at a very reasonable price, and Id say the best in the Gold Coast and Lincoln Park neighborhoods.

I ordered sesame chicken, my favorite Chinese dish. It tasted nothing like sesame chicken. Its usually sweet and flavorful. This "meal" was basically chicken doused in soy sauce. Additionally, I ordered the full size so I could take it for lunch tomorrow. I cant even eat this for dinner its so bad. One last thing, it didnt even come with rice. I wish I could give this place a 0.

I wanted to be safe and just try out the lo mein before I decided to order a main dish. Im happy I only ordered the lo mein. It was literally the maruchen ramen that you can buy for 3/$1 in stores, and they decided to add undercooked beef and unsteamed vegetables with this. Never going back, I actually regret going there in the first place

Theres no atmosphere but for greasy late night Chinese that wont have you kicking yourself too hard the next morning China Doll is a good option. Pretty decent dishes, reasonable prices. They arent the most accurate with delivery try to check your order before the driver leaves but theyre open late and they do all right.

Ordered takeaway via Ubereats. Food arrived relatively quickly and was still hot. I ordered some shumai/dimsims and beef chow mein. Both dishes lacked flavour and texture, and did not visually look appealling either. There is definitely better value for money out there.

Never again! I read the other reviews and thought I would enjoy a nice dinner. I didnt hardly eat any of it and still feel sick. It was nasty. I dont know if it was a bad batch of fried rice, egg drop soup, and shrimp lo mein. Not good at all.

Have walked by this place for years and finally broke down and placed a delivery order. Food came somewhat quickly ~45 minutes, but was tasteless and many of the ingredients seemed canned... Would never eat here again.

its very tasty large servings and low prices. this is a great place for cheap chinese take out in the area. I wouldnt stay in the restaurant for the meal thouogh.
